Winter accompanied by snowfall has an extraordinary beauty best appreciated when one is not trying to drive home at night from New York while said snow is falling!
Seriously, those are just gorgeous. I love winter landscapes, the light and dark contrasts, the subtlety of the colors, the light on the snow. Now that I'm retired I hope the snowfall sets records around here so I can just drive around town and gawk at it all I please for the next 4 months.

Though I didn't think that Saturday's snowfall here was so beautiful when I had to shovel the wheelchair ramp and clean off the cars yesterday. **wink**
