The Art of Willful Stupidity: Danish cartoonist attacker suspected of al Qaeda ties

The dreaded MENSA D word intrudes:

DUH!

A Somali man armed with an axe and suspected of links with al Qaeda broke into the home of a Danish cartoonist whose drawings of the Prophet Mohammad caused global Muslim outrage and was shot and wounded by police.

Hours later, the 28-year-old was stretchered into court on Saturday and denied charges of trying to kill Kurt Westergaard.

The Somali also denied trying to murder a police officer at Westergaard's home in the town of Aarhus late on Friday after he broke into the house armed with a knife and an axe, police said.

Danish police intelligence said they believed the "attempted assassination ... is terror related" and accused the man, who was not named, of having links with Somalia's al-Shabaab militant group as well as al Qaeda militants.

I'm not sure what words can be used to describe the galactically willful ignorant attitudes on display in all its PC glory by the media, police and govt's worldwide.

WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR THESE PEOPLE TO COME TO COMPREHENSION OF WHAT THE SITUATION IS?

They will never comprehend. As you said, it is willful stupidity.

Epaminondas,

Unfortunately I don't know what will make them understand the gravity of the situation.

via Islam in Europe

Was Kurt Westergaard's assailant involved in attempt against Hillary Clinton?

*1: According to PET, the Somali was involved in an previous terrorist attack in East Africa. (DA)

*2 According to the Danish ambassador in Kenya, Bo Jensen, the 28 year old was not arrested in Kenya for a terrorist plot against Clinton. It was a misunderstanding, and the man was only arrested for not having the proper travel papers. (DA)

the more violent the action the more obtuse the socialist left governments become.

they allready had the london bombing and the madrid bombings, and those only pushed them further into denial.

What year are these quotes from? 2001? 2002? 2007?

From the main stream media: "The most ominous event in the history of the American Government has been the sudden rise in the power and authority of the executive will.”

From a celebrity: “It is not the duty of the United States to police the world.”

From an anti-war organization: Americans naturally wish security and peace for the rest of the world, but it is not entirely within their powers to bring these things about.

Guess? 1940

* Garet Garrett wrote the first quote in the Saturday Evening Post, October, 1940.
* Charles Lindbergh, the celebrity, said this in his testimony in Washington in1940.
* Quoted by the America First Committee in 1940 - and anti-war organization.

Just a year later, Pearl Harbour was bombed.

Did these appeasers learn from their misinterpretation of events? Did they publicly admit that they were wrong? Did they shuffle their feet and apologize for the additional deaths they caused by preventing the government from committing the country earlier to the war effort?

On December 11, 1941 the America First Committee leaders met and voted for dissolution. In the statement they released to the press was the following:

“Our principles were right. Had they been followed, war could have been avoided. No good purpose can now be served by considering what might have been, had our objectives been attained...”

Now that’s ballsy.

So when it’s finally clear that we are at war with a malicious ideology that even a blind man with a cane can see it, the liberals, democrats, appeasers and apologist will still say – “We didn’t do enough to avert war.”

As they say, proven wrong, a fanatic redoubles his efforts.

WC,

I guess you could say that fanatics for peace are just as unreasonable as any fanatic.

Anyway, if give a choice, I'd rather deal with peace nicks than Jihadists any day. A peaceful delusional fool is better than a violent delusional fool any day.

The parallels with the buildup to WWII are unnerving. At this point it is hard to see any alternative than another Awakening of the Sleeping Giant by an attack that gets it though people's skulls that MUSLIM JIHADISTS COULD KILL THEM.

As one of our local talk-radio guys says, on the morning when Americans are afraid -- really afraid -- to go to work, afraid to send their kids to school, afraid to go to the mall, afraid to get on public transportation, that will be the day we finally start to see the level of outrage that's needed for them to overcome the PC-generated inertia. I just don't see how else it can happen at this point.

When you see even FOX News with some airheaded fluffy-haired nitwit name of "Julie" squealing to General McInerney that we MUST NOT PROFILE!, we MUST NOT REPEAT OUR "MISTAKES"!, when he's trying to make the point that if we don't get serious we are going to lose an airliner, or worse.

People are waking up. But they will keep hitting that snooze alarm until the bed catches fire. Then they'll all try to get through the door at the same time.
