Great Moments in The History Of Infidel Racism

LOL

I never knew about this dish.

Moros y Cristianos

Why would someone name a rice and beans dish "Muslims and Christians"? So the rice is white ... and the beans are black ... oh, wait, I get it. Sometimes referred to as the national dish of Cuba, Moros y Cristianos is allegedly named in honor of the Spanish Reconquista, when the Christians retook the Iberian peninsula from the Moors.
Seriously, though, before you go reducing the difference between Islam and Christianity to a matter of race, tell it to my brown-skinned Filipino Father-in-Law who used to fight (yes, with guns) against the Muslims in Mindanao.

P,
Your father-in-law used to fight against the Abu Sayyaf? That's impressive. Those Abu Sayyafs are also connected to Al-Qaeda..

What you called "terrorists", they called themselves "freedom fighters". We used to back them up, until they started decapitating hostages and associated themselves with AlQaeda. Now, some are refugees in Sabah, Malaysia. They were granted citizenship status when the Federal Government were trying to wrest control of Sabah from the Opposition. This is dirty politics.

Abdoos,
Why should Muslims have an "independent territory" on the island of Mindanao?

Why can't Muslims live with others the way Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and Buddhists do?

I think the term they use is 'autonomuos area".

And, you are right, they were decapitating people.

And, they do that crap all over the world.

I won't comment on the Phillipines internal matters. They are our neighbors, after all.

However, you can't generalize everything. What China did to Tibet - was it because of religion or politics? What did happened in Ireland..yet all are Christians.. thank God there's peace now in Belfast..

Power corrupts... it just needed an excuse to victimize other people different from they are.

Yes, Abdoos, you can't generalize.

EXCEPT

for the fact that Muslims do this crap everywhere in the world.

Even in your home country, which has one of the most peaceful forms of Islam in the world.

Sorry, I'm focused to the World CHESS Championship in Bulgaria now, where all differences are settled over the board (& 1 of my idol is Gelfand, an Israeli Grandmaster).. can you see why I'm color-blind? :)

Well, I'm glad that's bringing you enjoyment.

Let me tell you what I think it, perhaps, the most obnoxious thing about Christianity.

Christians think they know who is, and is not, going to hell. They talk about this, very major, issue as if they had all the knowledge of God. They are quite sure this person is going to hell, or that this TYPE of person is going to hell.

Because of this surety, they manage to convince some portion of humanity that they are beyond redemption, that they are going to hell.

They also manage to convince another portion of humanity that Christianity is a profoundly stupid religion which deserves no respect.

If Christians are not willing to take responsibility for these consequences of the behavior of a very significant portion of Christians/Christianity, then Christians are fucking stupid, and deserve to be castigated.

And, that is the problem with Islam. There is a very, very significant portion of academic and political Muslims who advocate terrible atrocities in the name of Islam, and then people like you, who do not agree with those aspects of Islam, will come around a place like this, and you will tell us that is not Islam. You won't acknowledge that, unfortunately, a very sizable and powerful portion of the Institution that is Islam is very sick. You just tell us that that is not the real Islam.

Sorry. I ain't buying it.

Muslims do, and are encouraged to do, terrible things to each other, and to the rest of humanity, the world over.

Islam must be responsible for what Islam does. Because Islam is what Islam is.

It's that simple.

P,
I have to disagree with this.

Islam is not at fault. Its people, the Muslims, are to be blamed, the Jihadists.

Just as; Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

If you debated using Theology, it won't end. Each side will look for each other faults. It will take forever. If Islam is really evil, why only a few turned Jihadists? Why not all?

I was asked if I am pro-Islam or Christian (in the molotov-cocktail case). Neither. I have known both of them for many years. I consider both of them friends (or family). I am rooting for a peaceful society.
