Yep. He donated to Repubs a few times I think. He was also in An American Carol, which was a hard right wing comedy parodying Mike "Tubby" Moore's work.

I grew up watching Dennis Hopper's film career.
I knew he was ill but had no idea the end was so close.
Hopper was a conservative? From 2005:
