Department of Justice Suing School for Not Giving Teacher Three Weeks off to Perform Hajj
For the record: Black Panthers stalking a polling place is cool, not bending over backwards to accommodate Muslims is bad…
WASHINGTON (AP)– The federal government sued a suburban Chicago school district Monday for denying a Muslim middle school teacher unpaid leave to make a pilgrimage to Mecca that is a central part of her religion.

If these people want to live according to Sharia law, they ought to get the fuck out of our country.
I totally agree.
Pastorius,
I agree, unless for her, Sharia only includes its more benign aspects, such as personal lifestyle choices, like don't eat pork or drink alcohol, and none of the things like inhumane punishments and forcing infidels to convert, submit or die, than I don't care. But even if that's the case, is it really violating her rights to not give her special time off for her religious pilgrimage? She could have done this over her summer vacation. Its not like the school told her that if she worked for them, she could never visit Mecca.
There's a couple of things that are a factor here, I think.
1) You can only do Hajj once a year. Its, if I am not mistaken, the 9th and the 10th day of the last month on the Islamic calendar. That was a couple of weeks or 4 weeks ago (again, can't remember). You can't do hajj any time of the year you want. You can do Umrah, which is called the lesser pilgrimage. The Islamic calendar is lunar so the Hajj falls on different infidel dates every year.
2) The teacher must have claimed that she can't know what date the hajj will be on so she can't plan ahead with vacation and stuff. But that's a lie too (if that's what happened) because you can always calculate what the approx. date of hajj will be next year relative to what it was this year. For example, if the 1st and the 2nd of december was the hajj this year, next year you subtract 10 days and that's when hajj will be. So, the 21st and the 22nd of november, 2011 (NOTE: this is just an example. I don't know, nor care when the hajj is or was).
3)She says she can't justify delaying hajj anymore based on her religious beliefs. Well that's a lie. She always can since she's working for infidels (HAHA). If her infidel employer does not let her leave, then she is justified in not doing it. Also, she has to do hajj once in her lifetime. So there you have it, lies upon lies upon lies.
4) She is not supposed to work according to Islam. There should be a counter lawsuit against her from this Shariah loving DOJ for thinking she had any human rights under Islam to begin with.
Avenging Apostate,
Thanks, I didn't know some of the information you mentioned before now. However, I knew about how women are not allowed to work outside the home under sharia. So obviously, she is not strictly following sharia law. I wonder what her response would be, if some non Muslim pointed out to her the fact that she's not supposed to work outside the home according to a strict interpretation of her religion.
Her response: "Have you read the Quran?"
Infidel: "Yes, I have."
Her: "Do you know Arabic?"
Infidel: "No I don't"
Her: "You can't possibly know what the Quran means then.
And if the infidel said, "Yes I do know Arabic."
Her: "What religion do you follow?"
Infidel: "What's that got to do with anything?"
Her: "Are you afraid? Tell me what religion you follow."
Infidel: "Infidelism."
Her: "In the book of Infidelism it says that 2 billion years ago, a man told his wife to try and sleep on her side of the bed. Your own religion is so evil toward women and you have the audacity to talk about Islam?" Then she turns to the rest of the people and yells, "Jail him for discrimination!! Allah-hu-akbar!" Everyone stands up and claps for her bravery in the face of this fascist and Eric Holder decides to teach him a lesson and puts him in jail and then apologizes on behalf of all Americans.
Oh and about the Hajj falling in November or whatever. I don't know when exactly it is that the teachers are off work but in four or five years, Hajj will be during summer so I am sure she could have waited. This case is going nowhere if the lawyer for the school knows anything.
AA,
You are right.
This is a Jihadist probe lawsuit.

Ever tried to get Good Friday off in the public school system as a teacher? Doesn't fly, or flies on a very limited basis.
