Muslims Destroying Mummies No Surprise
By Saturday a human chain of volunteers surrounded the Museum to thwart any further theft or damage but sadly a statue from the tomb of Tutankhamun, representing the king riding on a panther, was thrown to the ground and broke in two.

Egyptians burn mummies as fuel ?
The Egyptians use mummies in the 19th century to fuel their locomotives. We owe this wonderful conceit to Mark Twain, who in The Innocents Abroad (1869) writes, "The fuel [Egyptian railroaders] use for the locomotive is composed of mummies three thousand years old, purchased by the ton or by the graveyard for that purpose, and . . . sometimes one hears the profane engineer call out pettishly, 'D--n these plebeians, they don't burn worth a cent--pass out a King!'" Lest anyone fail to realize it's a joke, Twain then adds, "Stated to me for a fact. I only tell it as I got it. I am willing to believe it. I can believe anything."

Actually i read something similar about the use of old mummies to fuel fires.Even outside in the desert where you know there's hardly any firewood and it gets real cold at night.We're not talking present day but early 20 Century stories.

Even if Mark Twain's story turns out to be a joke, it is still a good description of Egypt's present situation !

A recent email sent to me said that Muslims were not worth crap. Actually, that is their only worth. Dried out Muslim poop can be used for fuel and so Muslims are not completely worthless despite what I write in my blog.
