The Obama administration has floated a transportation authorization bill that would require the study and implementation of a plan to tax automobile drivers based on how many miles they drive.
The plan is a part of the administration’s Transportation Opportunities Act, anundated draft of which was obtained this week by Transportation Weekly.
The White House, however, said the bill is only an early draft that was not formally circulated within the administration.
“This is not an administration proposal,” White House spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said. “This is not a bill supported by the administration. This was an early working draft proposal that was never formally circulated within the administration, does not taken into account the advice of the president’s senior advisers, economic team or Cabinet officials, and does not represent the views of the president.”
Sorry douchebags, you cannot have it both ways. We understand you want save mother Gaia from us horrible human types who want energy and barbecues and AC in the summer, and heat, and wood stoves and warm cars in the winter without bicycle powered generators. We get that you want to do so by making energy SO expensive that Walmart Shoppers will have to create bus pools to buy their bologna and canned peas on the increased welfare and unemployment caused by lack of energy, and eat just every other day (making Michelle happy), and thus easing pressure on garbage dumps and sewage systems as well. We understand that you view success as a village making candles and soap for Chinese tourists and explaining what life was like in colonial Virginia while we are dressed in homespun in between re-enactments of the Battle of Chancellorsville.
But here’s the thing …. YOU WON’T GET ELECTED.
Oh and by the way, this will get the Repubs the largest landslide election in HISTORY. But I hope it doesn’t go that way, because all of my clients will stop buying or go under by then, and I will be out fishing for White perch and shooting animals out of season to stay alive.

Hi Epa.
Shows how close he is to Europe, they're already testing the system there to tax trucks and cars according to the mileage.i'll try to find an article on it.
Depending on what road you are driving on you could be paying more .GPS will be used to calculate how long you were on that particular road!

A corollary to this is that THEY have to have something IN YOUR CAR which reports to them.
WHERE YOU ARE.
But of course, as we all know, if you have nothing to hide, why would you care, right?
Welcome to Obama's NEWUSA.
All not forbidden is compulsory
Hi Epa, your GPS or cellphone will do just fine!I think bluetooth or onstar might oblige.
It has to be something ATTACHED to the car. You might be in someone else's car and/or have a portable GPS, or GPS on the cell. What are we going to have a special form to tell the IRs how many miles we spent in how many cars not our own?
How much would you like to bet sales of used cars would SKYROCKET
Another way to make criminals out of nice people by the federal govt., and thus have the ability use coercive power, if they find it needed for WHATEVER REASON THEY THINK FIT
Epa.
