Actions the US and or Israel can take to increase traction in the Middle East

1) Immediately send support to the Kurds in Northern Iraq

Specifically, money, medical aid, food drops, CAMOUFLAGE, advisers, top end jam proof encrypted communication equipment, and PUBLICLY open talks to send ANTI AIR and ANTI ARMOR weapons, including sensors for detecting incoming air and missiles..Israel has nothing to lose and can accomplish this one

2) Support the Greeks SPECIFICALLY

Money, weapons, and NATO reinforcement on CYPRUS, including F-35 discounts and announce Turkey is no longer eligible for that system. Israel can get in on this one alone as well (except for the F-35, of course)

3) Move the 6th Fleet to an Israeli port base

4) Begin removing equipment and manpower from Incirlik (it’s GOING to go the way of Clark AF Base NO MATTER WHAT… believe it)

5) Announce reduction in aid to Egypt

6) Remove all preplaced armor from KSA (if Iran attacks them we are not going to drive a couple of thousand M-1’s around the gulf through Kuwait, and Iraq and the Shat Al Arab)

7) VISIBLY add nuclear attack submarines in the Med

8) Encourage Boeing, Lockheed, and others in selling weapons to India

9) Announce publicly that Turkey will no longer be receiving secret NATO communications, and that no exercises with the Turks will take place henceforth

10) Have an ex US ambassador to KSA write an op ed for the NYT asking Turki al Faisal is he is happy now

……………………………………………………………………………………………..

We will do NONE of these things since it would require Obama to commit an act without everyone else in the world standing behind him, and in fact heaping obloquy on him.

He might get (more) depressed.

Okay, I’ll turn myself in to attackwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatch

Selling weapons to India also allows our ally, India, to act as a counterbalance to China. It helps out Taiwan while maintaining plausible deniability that the move has anything to do with our relationship and obligations to Taiwan.
