"We spend our time worrying about the U.N., the Arab League, Nato and too little time, in my opinion, worrying about the elected representatives of the United States. Do you think that you can act without Congress to initiate a no-fly zone in Syria? Without Congressional approval?" Sen. Jeff Sessions (R - AL)

"Our goal would be to seek international permission and we would come to the Congress and inform you and determine how best to approach this. Whether or not we would want to get permission from the Congress, I think those are issues we would have to discuss as we decide what to do." -- Leon Panetta

Senator Jeff Sessions (Armed Services Committee) was less than impressed with this thinking.

Hi Midnight.
A while back Hillary said that they needed Assad's permission to act in Syria also.
We're back in the 18 th Century: « Messieurs les Anglais, tirez les premiers ! » only now it's any enemy can shoot first at America. If they're lucky they might even apologise for offending them.

It's more than a little stupid for her to suggest that we shuld wait for Assad's permission to attack Assad and his forces to stop them from slaughtering rebels.
