Moderate Indonesia?

Hardly moderate according to some recent developments!

From Creeping Sharia, citing this source:
JAKARTA — Hundreds of protestors attacked the offices of Indonesian Home Ministry in Jakarta on Thursday, pressing the government to ban alcohol countrywide and to turn the country into an Islamic state.

Protesters outside the interior ministry in the city’s main square wore white robes with the word “mujahideen” emblazoned on their shirts....

[I]t is questionable whether any action will really be taken against the FPI. The Muslim organization is believed to have the backing of both the National Police and the military....

Gasoline Prices Prediction

From this source:
Gasoline prices could approach $5 a gallon by Memorial Day and stay a record levels for much of the summer, according to a forecast by GasBuddy.com.

Gas prices always spike in the summer, but the 2012 Gasbuddy.com Price Outlook predicts this summer will break records.

“It looks like it might be the most painful year at the pump that we have ever seen,” senior analyst Patrick DeHaan said....
If the above materializes, Barack Hussein Obama will feel the pain at the ballot box. And the rest of us will feel the pain in our wallets as the cost of goods soars.

The Worst Is Yet To Come?

From this source:
...Most people do not know that already enacted in current law for 2013 are increases in the top tax rates of virtually every major federal tax. That is because the tax increases of Obamacare become effective that year, and the Bush tax cuts expire, which Obama has refused to renew for singles reporting income over $200,000 per year, or couples reporting over $250,000 per year (in other words, the nation’s small businesses, job creators and investors, in plain English)....

HAMLET LIVES: Are we too civilized to fight a war, let alone WIN ONE?

Yesterday we were treated to the spectacle of the Pentagon going after US Marines for pissing on those people whose purpose was to help, protect, and advance the pilots of the planes that murdered 3,000 Americans.
This included the intrepid and unafraid Leon Panetta who wanted to ‘bring to justice’ those Marines, who I ASSURE YOU, were doing nothing different that what happened on Guadalcanal, Buna, Bouganville, Tarawa, Saipan, Okinawa, and Iwo Jima.
Leon, THEY ARE JUSTICE. They are the legal arm of the US reaching out to ensure people who want to do more of the same to other American families as was done on 9/11, that it never happens again. And they are doubling down on the point.
Telegraph UK wonders if it moral to kill Iranian nuclear scientists

The covert war behind the latest assassination in Tehran raises moral concerns.

Physics is an unhealthy line of work in today’s Iran. A few days ago, 32-year-old Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan died in his car, after two motorcyclists attached a magnetic shaped charge to the door. You can see Roshan among the men in white coats, beaming modestly behind President Ahmadinejad, in a photo taken a few months ago.
Roshan was not the first and nor will he be the last casualty of a covert war designed either to dissuade Iran from acquiring a bomb, or to prompt retaliatory mis-steps that will trigger an all-out onslaught by Israel or the US against multiple Iranian nuclear facilities.
The identity of the assassins is inherently unknowable – though a good guess would be the dissident Mujahedin-e-Khalq group on behalf of Mossad. The CIA’s weak human intelligence presence inside Iran makes Secretary Clinton’s categorical denial of American involvement plausible.
Why it is happening is far easier to fathom. Israel, although not the world’s sole assassin, has historical form in this area. In 1963, Mossad embarked on Operation Damocles to menace and murder former Nazi rocket scientists, who, according to a defecting Austrian, were helping Nasser develop rockets that could be equipped with radiological warheads. They received parcel bombs through the post, while their families back in Germany and Austria were threatened with violence. More recently, in 1990, Mossad shot dead the Canadian Gerald Bull outside his Brussels apartment. Bull was helping Saddam Hussein improve Scud missiles while developing a long-range “supergun” as a sideline.
A similar logic, of degrading one’s enemy’s scientific and technical human capacity, was evident from the targeted assassination campaign which Israel waged against key Hamas and Hizbollah figures. The victims included Hamas’s Yehiya “The Engineer” Ayyash, whose head was blown off in 1996 by what he thought was his mobile phone, and Imad Mugniyah of Hizbollah, pieces of whom were scraped up from the street in 2008 after he was killed leaving a party at the Iranian embassy in Damascus. Both of these men had a lethal expertise which would be difficult to replace.
If we decide that stopping the Iranian nuclear weapons program short of war by killing a FEW people is immoral, will we decide that overtly and ‘honestly’ killing a LOT OF PEOPLE in an open war IS MORAL?
Here is the moral cowardice in the Telegraph’s argument that these murders are immoral….
The Israelis believe that anyone who knowingly participates in developing weapons of mass destruction or terrorism should be aware that these are not risk-free activities. Iranian scientists know full well that electronic switches are used in nuclear triggers, and that enriching uranium beyond a certain percentage is not for the production of medical isotopes. And they accept the considerable financial rewards involved. If there are questions about the morality of killing such men, there are questions about the morality of their work in the first place.
No, that is a red herring argument. Israel’s position I assure you, is that those who PERFORM this work for a STATE one of whose avowed purposes since birth, by the words of EVERY LEADER, and many other officials of the state, is the eradication of Israel, and by the cat’s paw of the state, to get the jews themselves, are immoral.
Their system aggressively pursues a HOLOCAUST for religious reasons, and racist reasons (in this case they are one), and NOTHING COULD BE MORE MORAL THAN KILLING THOSE INVOLVED IN THIS PROCESS.
Israel did NOT attempt to kill Pakistani scientists, did they?
In a few words….
That is a moral good.
The end.
If the Telegraph UK want to engage in equivocation about killing the guy who poured acid in daddy’s ear, they are finished as arbiters of moral action.

Lies, Damn Lies etc

You'll recall last week when the monthly unemployment and weekly initial claims number came out there was an awful lot of WOOT! going on from the media knuckleheads about how great this news was things must be looking up. Even from people like Shep Smith and Neal Cavuto who really should have known better.

There was also a curious lack of WOOT!ing and victory lapping from the White House and administration. Perhaps it's because they knew the truth. Perhaps it was because they were too busy living large in Hawaii to give a shit either way.

Of course anyone reading IBA or a number of other blogs understood the bullshit going on behind the number. And we said we would pay for it when the next set of numbers came out.

Well, they're out. And for the week ending January 7,2012 the SEASONALLY adjusted first time claims number rose an (unexpected?) 24,000 claims from an adjusted 375,000 the previous week (it had been 372 or 374 more on that in a moment) to 399,000. Bad enough for a bullshit lie but still miraculously below the much touted magical 400,000 so many experts fret about.

The above paragraph should alert anyone to the games played. Firstly, of course, the obvious. Why was the previous week's number revised up? Well, to make this week's rise a little less painful. But it really doesn't matter because of that little word they keep sliding in there that NO ONE on TeeVee really pays attention to.

When you look at the Bureau of Lies and Statistics full report you will should note the following:

Seasonally adjusted initial claims numbers for the last 3 weeks

Dec 24 -- 387,000
Dec 31 -- 375,000
Jan 7 -- 399,000

Total 1,161,000 newly unemployed persons. In three weeks. What the government will admit too publicly and accept as the "official" number.

Now, the almost truth. The NON-seasonally adjusted numbers for the same time period.

Dec 24 -- 497,689
Dec 31 -- 540,067
Jan 7 -- 642,381

Total 1,680,137 newly unemployed persons. And these are just the people actually filing for unemployment. There are many others who, for one reason or another, may not qualify to receive unemployment.

So NSA -- 1,680,137

SA -- 1,161,000

equals 519,137

That's a difference of more than a half million newly unemployed people IN THREE WEEKS that the administration has decided aren't important enough to include in their official number.

Think about that as you read the crap below. And bear in mind these numbers do NOT include the 99ers, those people still unemployed but who no longer can collect benefits and are therefore no longer counted as unemployed.

But most of all, for this post, keep in mind that here, in America, in just three weeks at Christmas time, one million six hundred and eighty thousand one hundred and thirty seven people lost their livelihood.

How many other people and families did that affect?

in 3 weeks.

That's some dandy Wreckovery.

U.S. jobless claims rise sharply to 6-week high

WASHINGTON, Jan 12 (Reuters) - The number of Americans applying for first-time jobless benefits rose last week, a report showed on Thursday, reversing a recent decline and suggesting the labor market remains brittle.

Unemployment claims jumped to 399,000 in the first week of 2012, the highest in six weeks, from an upwardly revised 375,000 in the prior week. The four-week average of claims also marched higher to 381,750 from 374,000.

The Labor Department report also showed 3.63 million continuing claims, up from 3.61 million. Including the millions of workers receiving benefits under emergency federal programs, some 7.3 million Americans were receiving unemployment benefits as of Dec. 24, the most recent date for which comprehensive figures are available.

The U.S. unemployment rate has fallen sharply in recent months and was 8.5 percent December, but some economists worry the drop has been due in part to discouraged workers dropping out of the labor force.

Oh, what he hell. Just for shits and giggles here's the portion of the BLS report I refer too. The whole report can be read here

US: Don’t piss on the people who cut off your heads ..and from Admiral Halsey…

Racially stated.

Video appears to show marines urinating on bodies, sparking military investigation

The U.S.Marine Corps is launching an investigation into a video that recently surfaced online showing what appears to be several Marines in uniform urinating on corpses.

The video, which started Wednesday morning making the rounds on the Web, shows four men in full Marine combat gear standing over the bodies of what appear to be dead Taliban fighters. They look around before proceeding to urinate over the corpses. One of the men can be heard saying, “Have a great day, buddy.”
According to TMZ, the unnamed person responsible for posting the video included a caption reading, “scout sniper team 4 with 3rd battalion 2nd marines out of camp lejeune peeing on dead talibans,” though it wasn’t immediately clear if any of that information was accurate.
The Marine Corps issued a statement immediately after learning of the video, saying a full investigation is under way.
“While we have not yet verified the origin or authenticity of this video, the actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our Corps,” the statement read.

I wonder if Judea Pearl finds this so offensive, or Paul Johnson’s family.
Or the families of those who lost moms, dad, sons and daughters on 9/11.
Why is CAIR offended by this act upon those who SHOOT WOMEN FOR LEARNING, by reason of God?
We have lost our way.
We have institutionally created a situation in which if all our actions are not perfect, we cannot proceed.
They are the enemy and I don’t care if the US Marines piss on their dead bodies.
Get your heads on straight in the Pentagon.
There are no hearts and minds to win.
War is not something else.
War is not Madison Ave.
You are puppets who cannot even identify the enemy’s strings.
That’s how it is.

Is Syria torturing babies to death now? Country's darkest secrets leaked online in world's first YouTube war
Hundreds of videos uploaded to YouTube by protesters each day
Syrian Revolution General Commission preparing for regime change

By Lee Moran

These are the videos that Syrian President Bashar Assad does not want the world to see.

The lifeless corpse of four-month-old Afaf Mahmmod Al-Sarakb lies limp and motionless in a chair - tortured to death by government security officers after her parents were arrested.

The disfigured body of a tortured taxi driver is seen dumped in the street, while a third video shows blood pouring from the arm of a woman gunned down by a sniper.

Anger: What life is really like in Syria is being released in a series of videos, day by day, on YouTube

In just 24 hours anti-government protesters have defied strict censorship laws more than 110 times to publish the series of brutal and shocking videos on YouTube.

Hundreds more hours of the brutal scenes have been released in the last two months.

They all show a country which has slowly descended into chaos - sparking fears there will be a civil war and floods of refugees fleeing across the border into Israel.

It is in stark contrast to the kind of society Assad's regime tries to portray - one where there are small pockets of unrest, but in the majority are happy with his rule.

While none of the footage has been independently verified, the content is so compelling and realistic that there is little reason to doubt its veracity.

The release of the videos mirrors those leaked during the Libyan conflict, the most gruesome of which showed the capture of ousted leader Colonel Muammar Gaddaafi. They were ultimately proved to be real.

But, while Libyan rebels tentatively dipped their toes into the world of internet publishing, the Syrian conflict is widely regarded as the first YouTube war - where events are played out through its channels on an hourly, if not minute-by-minute, basis.

Much of the filming is being released on a daily basis via the Syrian Revolution General Commission, a coalition movement covering most of the country which, according to its Facebook page, is preparing for the overthrow of the regime.

In its coverage of yesterday's events the group, based out of the Turkish capital of Istanbul, chronicled attacks, murders, fake rallies of support and crackdowns in the northeastern province of Deir Ezzor, the northwestern city of Idlib, the western city of Hama, and the central city of Homs.

The 40-group strong coalition, which is playing an important role in highlighting the truth during the 10-month-old uprising against Assad, also alleged how security forces covered-up 'abuses' as the Arab League monitors visited various areas of the country.

To garner favour with observers, the SRGC said 'fabricated marches' in support of the regime took place in Deir Ezzor as they arrived.

Protest: There is also several videos containing footage of rallies which, according to President Assad, do not occur very frequently

Dead: Several of the videos show protesters who have allegedly been beaten to death by security forces

Dead: Several of the videos show protesters who have allegedly been beaten to death by security forces

Security forces also 'curtained off' various areas of a jail containing political prisoners so monitors did not 'really see' what was going on.

The SRGC said it was all to shield observers, in Syria to see where Assad's troops are keeping their word on ending a violent and repressive crackdown, from what was happening.

And, elsewhere in the area and in complete contravention of that deal, security forces were seen opening fire on protesters, leading to large numbers of arrests.

In the Sahl Al-Ghab region, where electricity is cut off for 15 hours each day, it said security buses and army vehicles routinely roamed the streets raising weapons at residents.

In Jaer Al-Shoghour the sound of the security forces' heavy firing is constantly heard, Assad-sponsored gangs ran riot through Darkoush vandalising public property, and in Hama 28-year-old Nabhan Ahmad Al-Mustafa was shot dead while out with friends.

The increase in violence, and its release through the SRGC, comes as many believe Assad is losing his grip on power.

But despite foreign observers saying his rule could be coming to an end, he re-iterated today how he would not be stepping down.

He insisted he still had his people's support and repeated claims that a foreign conspiracy and terrorists were behind the 10-month-old uprising against him - and not true reform-seekers.
