CAIR Tells House Committee Investigating Boston Bombings To Focus On Right-Wing Groups

As if that isn't absurd and obnoxious enough on it's face, I believe they have made up statistics to back up their point.

Please let me know if anyone can find a source for the stats they quote here.

Written Statement of the Council on American-Islamic Relations On The Boston Bombings — CAIR

Violent extremism is not limited to any one ethnicity, political ideology or religion. In January, the West Point Military Academy’s Combating Terrorism Center reported that since 2001, violent white supremacists and other far-right groups have murdered 306 Americans and injured another 1,616.
Since the events of September 11, individuals associated with or inspired by al-Qaeda or similar groups have committed 37 murders in the U.S., out of the 180,000 murders committed during that time. Moreover, since 1979 environmental and animal rights extremists have committed over 2,000 crimes and caused more than $110 million in damage.
While this testimony primarily addresses countering al-Qaeda-inspired violent extremism, CAIR also recommends that the government address all forms of violent extremism, regardless of ideology, proportionally to the criminal threat posed by individual groups. In 2011, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) reported that the Department of Homeland Security only employs one “domestic terrorist” analyst tasked with tracking right-and-left- wing violent extremist.xiv Without a scaled awareness, appropriate to the threat posed by all forms of violent extremism, our national security will remain at risk.
IT LOOKS LIKE I'M RIGHT. THE NUMBERS QUOTED BY THE WEST POINT MILITARY ACADEMY'S COMBATTING TERRORISM CENTER ARE FAKE.

CAIR IS QUOTING FROM A REAL SURVEY, BUT THE NUMBERS ARE HIGHLY INACCURATE.

Look at this article from CNN and this paragraph especially:
And if, after investigation, Sunday's attack on the Sikh temple in Wisconsin is included in this count, the death toll from right-wing terrorism in the U.S. over the past decade rises to 15.
The article is here: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/08/07/opinion/bergen-terrorism-wisconsin
If what the above study says was correct, CNN would be the first ones to pounds on the opportunity to blame all whites for murders.
Yup, those stats from West Point are BS and quite possibly racist (someone needs to read the thing though). Even liberals like Mother Jones quote numbers like 29 murdered by right wing extremists from 2001-2012.

Despicable article but just to show that the numbers are WAY bloated in that West Point study.

Their stats are correct according to the study they talk about: http://www.ctc.usma.edu/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/ChallengersFromtheSidelines.pdf

Go to page 100 and you'll find these stats.

Not sure about how credible the study is.

Regardless of its credibility though, the committee is on Boston terrorist attack which was perpetrated by Muslims. Its absurd to even suggest that other groups be investigated in light this attack.

So CAIR...go f*** yourselves!

Pasto,

I think you may be 100% correct. Look at this article from CNN and this paragraph especially:
