Obama's departure predicted as congress focuses on cover-up

To this day, it is not known what role President Richard Nixon played in the break-in at the Watergate Hotel, but the tape recordings from the White House confirm he and Chief of Staff H.R. Haldeman discussed using the CIA to slow down the FBI investigation.

It was the cover-up, as history records, that eventually brought about Nixon's resignation in disgrace.

Now, Congress is investigating an alleged cover-up of the terrorist attack Sept. 11, 2012, on the U.S. foreign service facility in Benghazi, Libya, amid predictions from prominent voices that the scandal will bring down the Obama administration.

Former Arkansas governor and onetime presidential candidate Mike Huckabee made the bold prediction this week, ahead of a House hearing Wednesday that will feature witnesses of the attack.
I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term,” he said. “I know that puts me on a limb. But this is not minor. It wasn’t minor when Richard Nixon lied to the American people and worked with those in his administration to cover up what really happened in Watergate.
“But, I remind you – as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die.”

I hope justice prevails and Obama leaves office and heads straight for prison...but the moral decay that the society has gone through for the last 40 years may actually make people see the evidence that their president got 4 Americans murdered and then shrug their shoulders because "Obama is not as bad as those evil white Republicans who only hate Obama because he's black."

I have to agree with you Nico.

But we can hope. That's apparently all we have right now.

Those predictions SHOULD be accurate. But I have my doubts.

On the other hand, let us remember that the Watergate break-in occurred on June 17, 1972; RMN didn't leave office until August 1974.

There is NO CHANCE this will lead to Obama's removal.
In Nixon's case not only did the media think counter to Nixon's politics. they hated him viscerally.

Not day passed without a Watergate headline of one sort or another until the senate investigation was underway. Unless you watch Fox, you can't understand what the big deal is because this story DIED after the Candy Crowley comment at debate 2.

EPA - I agree. Obama impeached on this when pigs fly. Not gonna happen. He has the un-press on his side.

BTW: that abortion doc is STILL not in the un-press.

Watching this thing...Dems have so far been very successful at protecting Hillary. My prediction is that not only is this not going to do anything against Obama but Hillary is going to come out of this spotless.

The only people who will get hurt in this process are the Republicans. They will be mocked.

The hearing is a necessity. The pendulum ALWAYS swings. Let them mock.

Someplace in the audience someone is knitting the names of those to be disgraced with their own words.

Of course of Obama leaves office that gives us Biden. The thought does not really give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
