A Saudi man was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport with a pressure cooker, less than a month after a bomb using one of the kitchen devices was used to kill three and injure hundreds.
Hussain Al Kwawahir was charged in federal court with using an altered passport and lying to a Customs and Border Protection Agent about the pressure cooker, according to The Detroit News. Al Kwawahir arrived Saturday from Saudi Arabia, via Amsterdam, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in federal court. He told investigators he was here to see a nephew who attends the University of Toledo.
Customs officials noticed a page missing from his passport, then found the pressure cooker during an examination of his baggage, according to authorities. Al Kwawahir said he brought the pressure cooker for his nephew because the devices are not sold in the United States, according to the complaint.
He later changed his story, saying his nephew had bought a pressure cooker in the U.S. but it was broken.
Just a thought here.
He brings a pressure cooker from overseas somewhere. How difficult would it be to trace? I get the sense that it would be a bit harder to find out who bought this one, than if one was bought here.
His nephew needs to be checked out, thoroughly.

That's assuming he even has a nephew, &/or if he has one, is actually attending the university listed on his student visa.
The purported nephew has come out and defended him. So yes, it appears the nephew does exist.
IF he had a nephew who needed a new pressure cooker, that still does not explain the problems with the passport.
Obviously.
Ostriches will still maintain: "Nothing to see here. Move right along."
