Let me preface this by saying I am no Tea Party aficionado. Time spent involved there reveals that outside of the twin issues of financial responsibility (which, btw does not HAVE to mean some crazy austerity either) and adherence to the founding document(s), there is an edge of hysteria and unbalance. Witness the victory then defeat of, Christine O’Donnell, Mourdock, etc. What my wife and I witnessed at Tea Party events was some sense and then it being subsumed by those concerned about the extraneous ingredients of frankfurters and the John Birch Society. The ‘Tea Party’ will fail unless it restricts itself to those two ideals.
And now to Politico and the Democratic Party’s most recent attempt to obfuscate the realities of Washington.
The article links attempts to show that the Republicans, in public attempting to enforce the same treatment for congress as the people were actually working behind the scenes to KEEP themselves as a separate class, in an effort identical to that of the democrats.
What BOTH have failed to understand that they are building a case for the public’s understanding that R and D are both members of the POLITICAL CLASS and are defending that class in private and in public.
Politico reinforces by this exposure (which I believe) that Harry Reid, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell et al, serve this class and not the people.
That the people who leaked this do NOT UNDERSTAND THIS is a fundamental demonstration of why they fear the tea party so much.
They know these people are SOMEHOW a danger, but so far these people have put forward fools, misogynists, people worried they are witches and the like, giving those in the political class a sense of invulnerability, yet their fear lingers. It lingers because the political class is what it is, and they are what they are. Thus the attempts to characterize the Tea Party first as racists and now as extremist suicide bombers. Now THEY are hysterical.
But with every little spat like this, architected to gain the next temporary electoral advantage while the people suffer, the reality becomes more obvious.
Of COURSE, Boehner and McConnell undertook this effort. Of course Reid knew and they all cooperate. They all represent the same thing.
So my question to the american people?

The dirty little secret is that the Boehner / McConnell leadership axis does not want to repeal Obama care. They want to get control government and use Obama care to their advantage.
Right now they are trying to execute a strategy they hope will placate the conservative base while maintaining the status quo ante.
This is why the Republican leadership doesn't make an articulate case for the repeal of Obama care. They don't want it repealed.
