LL bean -45 parkas, sweatshirts under, gore tex gloves and mad bomber hats. LL Bean snow sneakers for a day like this. No worries. You can be outside a while like that. But the lake ice is getting thicker in March.

Dulles Airport got down to zero degrees last night.
Here, closer to D.C., we got down to 10 degrees, I think.
It's damn cold out there.
The cherry blossoms may bud in a few weeks. Maybe.
The up side of all this cold: decimation of the brown marmorated stink bug population.
But the damn heating bills? Surreal.
And at my cousin's house, which I own and which is about 5 miles from here, the furnace conked out last night.
It took me a half hour to get my car de-iced this morning.
