Wilfred Smallwood, who says he's a half-brother of Dallas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, said Thursday that he doesn't believe Duncan knew he had Ebola when he left Liberia for the United States.
Smallwood said that when Duncan first visited Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, neither Duncan nor the hospital knew then that he had Ebola.
This was Duncan's first time in the United States, Smallwood said.Smallwood left Liberia nine years ago to move to the United States, where many relatives live. Smallwood currently lives in Phoenix.
Duncan, a resident of Liberia, was visiting his son and his son's mother in Dallas, Smallwood said.

Legal status of Phoenix brother? Why the discrepancy over how frequently Mr. Duncan has been to the US?

I have a silly question . . .
we've read about the quarantine of Mr. Duncan's co-residents in Dallas. Has the government or emergency services assisted the family in getting rid of the soiled linens, carpets, towels, clothing that has been potentially contaminated? Or are these poor folks trapped inside the very structure in which Mr. Duncan became gravely ill and are they being left to their own devices?
On the radio I just heard the CDC has confirmed 42 states have cases of ENT H68 virus with over 500 patients infected.
The commentator suggested this is a great teaching moment.
Sigh.
Copying a comment which may/may not be related:
Recall Obama's trip to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta took place on Sept. 16
then consider:
Executive Order -- Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria, 9/18/2014
Fascinating that Obama's recent executive order reads like legislation, and it’s also fascinating that the panel created by the executive order is composed completely of people from the executive branch.
Fascinating in a “holy sh*t” kind of way.

PBS image of individuals pressure washing Mr. Duncan's ebola laced vomit from the pavement/sidewalk. The men are not wearing any biohazard protective clothing or gear and there is a woman walking through the liquid in the parking lot wearing sandles. OY!!!
image
Did the CDC or related agency assist in professional removal/disposal of contaminated bio-hazards from the residence in which this family (with children) is confined during their isolation?
Is there any plan to do so, to prevent these people from infection?
If not, is there any consideration to the possibility that any of the contaminated items (bed/bath linens, clothing, carpeting, napkins, paper towels etc.) could be nefariously repurposed as bio-weapons?
IS/ISIS/ISIL has already proposed just that. The bio-hazards are clearly available here in the US now. Is this really too much of a stretch of my imagination?
Note the Quote above in this thread discussing the nationalities of the local residents and think about the potential.
