Iran’s leader rules out regional cooperation with US
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday ruled out any cooperation with the United States in the troubled Middle East, saying talks with Washington are confined to nuclear issues.Well at least maybe in the nuclear talks something was achievable
In a closely watched speech marking the Persian new year festival of Nowruz, Khamenei took steps to quell speculation that any nuclear deal with the West could lead to a wider rapprochement.
"No way," he told a raucous crowd in the northeastern holy city of Mashhad.
"US objectives on regional matters are the opposite to our objectives," Khamenei said
Ayatollah: Iran nuke talks ‘fraudulent’
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, tweeted his outrage Saturday over talks with the U.S. over his nation’s nuclear weapons research.Well, then, at least we are realistic
“We reject fraudulent offer of reaching w #Iran first than lifting sanctions,” Khamenei tweeted. “Lifting sanctions is a part of deal, not its outcome.”
“#US sanctions are ineffective,” he continued. “Threatening to sanction or military action won’t scare #Iran-ians. God backs Iranian nation’s resistance.”
Khamenei calls ‘Death to America’ as Kerry hails progress on nuke deal
Day after Obama urges Iran to seize ‘historic opportunity,’ supreme leader says US seeks to create insecurityMeanwhile, back on earth….
Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei called for “Death to America” on Saturday, a day after President Barack Obama appealed to Iran to seize a “historic opportunity” for a nuclear deal and a better future, and as US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed substantial progress toward an accord.
Khamenei told a crowd in Tehran that Iran would not capitulate to Western demands. When the crowd started shouting, “Death to America,” the ayatollah responded: “Of course yes, death to America, because America is the original source of this pressure.
Khamenei also dismissed as “insincere” a near five-minute video address for Nowruz that Obama made to the leaders and people of Iran, in which he urged them to choose opportunity over isolation.
Netanyahu has told others he expects, based on the ‘congratulatory’ phone call from Obama, that the USA may well ABANDON another ally, namely Israel, at the UN. Anybody following this road to Obama’s end game with what he regards as the source of problems in the Middle East?
Meanwhile, back on earth….
More than 67 Senators are waiting NINE DAYS to vote out a veto proof resolution to impose harsher sanctions on Iran if no reasonable deal is reached with Iran. Of course, the question is if ANY OTHER NATION will now cooperate with the present govt of the USA in imposition of sanctions.
Meanwhile, back on earth….
360 of 435 Congressmen and women signed an open letter to the president informing him there will be NO WAY to bypass the elected legislature of the PEOPLE of the USA in making a treaty by some other name
Meanwhile, back on earth….
Is there anyone here who does NOT FEEL in one look around this planet (where everywhere the USA has left, there is war, revolution and sectarian violence) we are all CLOSER to global catastrophe than we were in Jan 2009?
If you feel we are better off now, please justify this via facts?

I sure as hell see where this entire mess is leading. Perhaps that explains my recent lack of participation here in IBA.
The team members here at IBA are Cassandras. Or we might as well be.
NOBODY is going to rein in Obama -- certainly not the pathetic excuses for elected public servants on Capitol Hill?
Hell, if the polls are accurate, Obama could run for a 3rd term and get elected!
