The Smith and Wesson XVR 460 Magnum is the most powerful handgun on the planet. Releasing bullets at 2,300 feet per second, the X-treme Velocity Revolver has the highest claimed velocity in a big-bore production gun, according to Maxim.com. In the following video, a nice Russian chap compares the 460 Magnum with Dirty Harry’s preferred gun and previously most powerful, the .44 Magnum.MORE INFORMATION:
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

I have a S&W 460V (Five inch barrel) revolvere and it's fun to shoot. The advantage of the 460 over the 500 is that it will chamber .45 Colt, .454 Casull and 460 S&W cartridges. So for practice, I can shoot the less expensive .45 Colt cartridges.
If you buy a S&W 500, you are stuck shooting those (expensive) cartridges all of the time (heavy recoil as well). I wonder if people with those handguns get the practice in that they should be getting?
Son in law in Alaska has a 4 inch .454 Casull (which falls between the .44 mag and the .460 leaning much toward the .460). Got to shoot it at the range when I was up there last summer. Now the range is a converted seabox. So, I was able to keep the 6 rounds in a half dollar at 115 yds or so but even with ear gear the noise echoing in that box was unfriginbelievable and the recoil stout to say the least (when my daughter first fired it a couple years ago it hit her in the forehead).
Fun hell yes for a limited number of rounds. After that I went back to my measly .357.
Oh yeah, FWIW we were shooting full house Buffalo Bore .454.
