The empire strikes back: Why Trump’s private talks with foreign leaders were leaked
The swamp is finding ways to mire the new president in controversy.A pair of leaks about Donald Trump’s conversations with foreign leaders is extraordinary, because these are among the most closely held secrets in government. The information was furnished to the Washington Post and the AP in a clear effort to embarrass the president. And it worked.Putting aside for a moment what Trump said to the leaders of Australia and Mexico, how can any president function if he can’t hold confidential conversations with his counterparts on the world stage? These stories were about the bureaucracy striking back. One or more people, in either the State Department or the White House, wanted to damage Trump by portraying him as a rampaging bull breaking the diplomatic china. And this was done by selectively providing excerpts of the private calls. We don’t know much about the tone or the context. They’re hot news stories, of course, but the motivation of the leakers is pretty transparent. Now it’s not that unusual for an administration to provide authorized leaks about a president’s encounters with foreign leaders to paint him in a positive light. But I can’t recall another case in which unnamed sources tried to undermine a president by putting out such specifics.
Another such article was about the EPA lifelong ‘crats creating a clandestine encrypted network to communicate with each other to frustrate any of Trump’s (i,e, the elected people’s) actions if the so pleased.
I suggest a reaction not unlike that of the ones reserved for North Korea, Iran, and the frustration level Trump exhibited (rightfully) when he had to hear from the Australian PM that Obama had agreed to take 1,250-2k ‘refugees’ that Oz was storing on islands in what the UN called ILLEGAL situations, because Oz would NOT allow them into Oz, because they are far more restrictive than the USA. The people who act in this regard are self identified prime members of the political class. Their goal is to become a GS-999 and retire with 903% of their income. That’s all. Maybe gather power along the way.
Massive firings should be the first option. Now as we have seen with the VA, righteous firings get reduced to sideways moves with nasty notes, which then get reversed in the public servants’ dedicated internal judicial system set up so that executive actions can be frustrated. So if we can’t get rid of those whose CHIEF PURPOSE is to hamstring the will of the people via the elected govt, and send them off to the Center for American Progress, we then need an alternate solution.
A Faraday Cage.
The federal govt, I suspect has PLENTY of available office space. A place for a lot of chairs, without cubicles. A place in which there will be no cell phone reception. No computers. No internet.
And no talking.
A place where a lot of people can be transferred.
A place where boredom and frustration will overcome reason-less anger and TDS.
Now, to be sure I think the actions like this which are designed to embarrass Trump probably do not bother him as much as those around him.

A more likely scenario is that these leaks are fabricated fake news.
