LA County leaders greenlight effort to pay homeowners to house the homeless

Read below, this is an agenda item coming to a progressive movement near you:

"Older people should be taxed out of their family homes to free up space for younger generations, says a report backed by Labour.

It argues that 'empty nesters' in their 60s are taking up too much room and should be 'encouraged' by a new 'land tax' to downsize to smaller homes.

The call comes from the Intergenerational Foundation, a left-leaning think-tank that aims to 'promote fairness between generations'."

Errr... Why doesn't the county build housing?

Homelessness = Scabies, tuberculosis, lice, bed bugs, possible alcoholism, possible mental illness, possible vice.

Bad deal. Bad deal for homeowners. It will also bring interference into the right of property owners to manage their land as they please.

Yesterday there was a story in the news about how a local library here in the LA area has been discovered to be INFESTED WITH BED BUGS.

The head Librarian was interviewed and professed NO IDEA how such a thing could happen. According to her, so many "different members of our community enjoy the library".

Now, I have never been to the Library that was mentioned, but I know that the local public Library in the college town I inhabit is populated MOSTLY BY HOMELESS PEOPLE. Most of the after-school studiers now avoid the Library because of the smell.

I assume most public Libraries are similarly populated in the surrounding areas.

Homelessness is a HUGE problem in Los Angeles.

You want to talk about "The Camp of the Saints"? It looks like that here and it is not, for the most part, the immigrants who makeup the nomadic population.

We have the same problem with our libraries here in Charleston, SC. They have become essentially a homeless hangout and nobody will do anything about it.

I took my teenage daughter to the main branch to work on a research project on a Saturday morning a few years back. It looked like the zombie apocalypse. One guy stank of urine so bad I could smell him from 30 feet away.

I haven't been back.

WC: These leftist proposals do tend to evolve over time don't they.

I can see something along these lines being proposed in Seattle or Portland in the near future. They have some real leftist nuts in elected positions.

Just think how many refugees we could house if those old folks can be "persuaded" to vacate their oversized domiciles.

Bet on it!
