I think we should review their immigration documents to make sure all their statements are truthful.
Sadly, this family is just stupid. Sometimes complete apartment blocks are evacuated for fear the terrorist has set booby-traps for investigators. This was for the safety of the family.
Kid pulled out of school? Just as "time is brain" for stroke and cardiac arrest, "time is brain" for investigations. The initial hours and an intense operational tempo on multiple flanks allows for the most successful outcome.
While the family is outraged for their small inconvenience it must be noted that an "operational cage" which places innocent pedestrians in limbo for hours to assure another attacker is not within the vicinity is also an inconvenience.
We see these virtual cages in play now after attacks (the Barcelona attack comes to mind) and application of what CNN dubbed "frozen zones" after this most recent attack is also part of investigative process.
