I am not saying I agree with everything said on this podcast. A lot of the claims made seem dubious. But they are talking about their experience. And, I don't have anything near their experience.
I grew up in a segregated area of Orange County. I hardly saw anything one who wasn't white, until I was in my teens.
When I got older, I lived in Pasadena, which was a very mixed community. I enjoyed that, and it changed me.
Now, my family is as mixed as Pasadena.
I have worked all over Los Angeles. I have worked in Compton, Watts, South Central, East LA, as well as Tarzana, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica, etc.
At one point, one of my clients was Augusta Country Club. At another point, one of my clients was the VP of Marketing for NBC. At yet another point, I worked for the largest radio company in the nation. At other times, I worked at fucking McDonald's, I worked in boiler rooms, and I have cleaned toilets, printing presses, and business offices etc with my Dad, who was a jantor.
My life experience is very VARIED.
But I have never known what it's like to be a black man. And, I don't know what it's like to have grown up in a black community. And I have only really been close to a few people who did grow up that way, and they were fine with it, pretty much. But they moved out when they got older.
I can only judge this conversation from the outside.
And I judge it to be interesting, and fun, and funny.
