Note they said gas prices fell in July. Gas prices usually GO UP during the summer.
... the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 2.7% year-over-year, matching June and coming in softer than economist expectations of a 2.8% rise.
After the inflation report's release, bets jumped on a Fed rate cut in September. Around 94% of traders expect that outcome, according to the CME Group.
