About two weeks ago, Politico published an article which claimed Trump is weaponizing the government against his enemies.
I must admit, I have been susceptible to this line of thinking myself.
This morning, while contemplating the Charlie Kirk assassination, I realized something that now stands out as being very clear. Very, very clear.
If Trump was spending his time using government resources to go after his enemies, he would be going after the Secret Service, and those around the Secret Service, in a relentless attempt to find out who was responsible for the assassination attempt against him in Butler, PA?
But he has not done that.
Those people tried to take his life.
And he is not going after them.
He is also not spending his time going after those who crafted the National Guard hold back on January 6th. Trump knows damn well that was done on purpose. Trump knows there were multiple people across multiple agencies, involved. The pipebombs are proof of organization. They were planted the evening before, around 7:30 PM on January 5th. And they were promptly ignored by the FBI on their sweep the morning of January 6th.
Trump is only going after those who used the government to thwart the Will of the People, to enact a coup against the President of the United States. Those who wiretapped him, to set him up for the Russia Russia Russia conspiracy.
It appears, Trump is not so much concerned about his own life, as an individual. At some point, he obviously made a decision to sacrifice that life. That's why he jumped up and said, "Fight, Fight, Fight" after having been hit in the head by a bullet.
What he is concerned about is the Constitution of the United States.
If you don't believe me, well, we will see proof in the coming days.
The Constitution protects the lives of individual citizens, because we are all created equal and endowed by our Creator with the same unalienable Rights. (yes, I know this is from the Declaration).
And that means CHARLIE KIRK.
Charlie Kirk has been deprived of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. And this was done because he took advantage of his Right to Freedom of Speech.
And Charlie Kirk was among the best on the subject of Freedom of Speech. He exemplified the First Amendment in his open discussion with students around the country.
Charlie Kirk was not just a man. He was more. He was a symbol of our Rights. He was a Champion and a Hero.
Now, I could be wrong about Trump. Maybe his moves against Clapper, Comey, Brennan, et al are not principled. Maybe he really is just a President with an enemies list.
How will we know?
Trump must use the resources of the government to go after the person, or persons who assassinated Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Kirk, his wife, his children, and We The People deserve no less.
