CAIR Warns Not To Prosecute 5 American Jihadis: "FBI walks tightrope in outreach to Muslims"

US officials are actually debating whether to file charges against the five Muslim DC students, Americans who were arrested in Pakistan for planning jihad. See also here.

"They are proudly saying they are here for jihad" or holy war, Anwar said.

One of the jihadis left behind a "farewell" video and Nihad Awad, national head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which approached the FBI on behalf of the families, said: "The government has to show some appreciation for the actions of the parents and the community".

What about the father of one of the five that joined the them in their jihad? And what is the Muslim community doing to expunge the koran of these violent texts prescribing such violence?

No, instead they insist we willingly go to the gallows.

How can we be having this discussion? How can this be? How could such consideration be made? CAIR should be nailed for their support of jihad here and abroad. But once your premise if false, once your thinking is irrational, everything that stems from it will be ...insane. And so we have it - the era of insanity.

Can you imagine if we applied this to the Nazis? Go lenient on the Nazis or ......... they'll build more ovens.

CAIR is a jihadist organization. Of course they will front for the global jihad. I expect this from terrorists. But what of us? Where is our will? How can we allow this imposition of sharia law without so much as a cry out for liberty, freedom, for America, for our children?

Outreach To Moslems And U.S. Goverment Policy

Remember those five Washington-area Moslems who went to Pakistan, apparently for training in jihad with the Taliban? Well, now the American government is "walking a tightrope," the tightrope of dhimmitude.

Prosecutors face complexities that include whether the men's reported admissions to Pakistani authorities are admissible in a U.S. court and whether any statements were coerced.

Senior Justice Department officials are expected to balance broader issues in any charging decisions, such as concern over a growing threat from domestic extremism.

"Home-based terrorism is here," Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said in a recent speech in which she cited the arrests of U.S. citizens suspected of plotting attacks with al-Qaeda and other Muslim groups. The five Virginia men are U.S. citizens.

...[T]he law enforcement imperative could clash with President Obama's desire to improve relations with Muslims abroad and in the United States. When asked about the arrests in Pakistan, Obama praised "the extraordinary contributions of the Muslim-American community."

These five men who went to study jihad with the Taliban don't elicit condemnation from BHO? And BHO's comment about contributions is a non-sequitur.

If American law enforcement has reached the point that deciding how to pursue this case requires considering the internal threat from Muslims in the United States, we're living in a state of tacit terrorism and dhimmitude right now. Either these five American Moslems are guilty of treason or they are not - on the merits of the case, not in consideration of "broader issues."

Nawar Shora, legal director for the American-Arab Anti Discrimination Committee -- who, with a representative from a Muslim group presented the award to Persichini -- said the Arab and Muslim communities will accept any charges against the men arrested in Pakistan as long as they are treated fairly.

Yet he indicated that tensions could flare, depending how the government approaches a case. "If the FBI and the prosecutors say these were five Muslims and they were trying to commit jihad, and they throw out all of these incendiary religious terms, that's different," Shora said.
