All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

A Catholic Editor With Big Huge Golden Balls
The Infidel Bloggers Alliance Golden Balls Award goes to Italian magazine editor Cesare Cavalleri for publishing a cartoon of
Mohammed In Hell
Rome - An Italian magazine close to the influential Catholic conservative Opus Dei group has published a cartoon showing the Prophet Mohammed in hell, sparking outrage among Muslim associations in Italy.
The drawing is published in the March issue of Studi Cattolici.
According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the cartoon shows the Italian poets Dante Alighieri and Virgil on the edge of a circle of flames looking down on Mohammed, whose body is cut in half.
"Isn't that Mohammed?" Virgil is shown asking Dante.
"Yes, and he's cut in two because he has brought division to society," replies Dante.
Cartoons by 12 artists, first published in a Danish newspaper in September and later reprinted in a number of other mainly European dailies, sparked Muslim protests worldwide.
Studi Cattolici editor Cesare Cavalleri said:
"I hope the publication of this drawing won't lead to attacks, because if that happened it would only prove the idiotic positions of Islamic extremists.
Well said, Cesare.
Image from Dante's Inferno: In the Inferno chapter of Dante's trilogy The Divine Comedy, Mohammed is described as being one of the "Sowers of Discord," showing his entrails to Dante and Virgil in the Eighth Circle of Hell:
Inferno XXVIII, 19-42. The poets are in the ninth chasm of the eighth circle, that of the Sowers of Discord, whose punishment is to be mutilated. Mahomet shows his entrails to Dante and Virgil while on the left stands his son Ali, his head cleft from chin to forelock.
The 1911 Italian silent film L'Inferno contained a dramatization of the scene; Mohammed is here on the right with his entrails hanging out.

Bets anyone?
I'll see your bet, and raise you 1/2 pound of Mohammedan entrails.
ok, that's a deal, close out with six burnt embassy's and regrettably scores of innocent civilians killed in four different countries.
Think we'll find a run on Italian flags later this week?
Christ has risen!
Muhammed, recently joined by various suicide bombers, vitriolic imams and assorted evil doers, apparently, is still burning in Hell.
He is risen indeed.
Just to correct a misunderstanding:
The conversation you quoted is the original by Dante Alighieri - but the cartoon adds the text: "but the woman over there with her trousers down is the Italian politician in charge of Islam".
And the cartoon itself shows neither Mo nor the Italian politician:

According to another article I read, the unhappy Muslims are already murmuring. We'll see what happens after the next Friday service at the mosques.
Ateist,
Really? Wow, that's a pretty big misrepresentation, then.
Could you provide me with a link?
Yeah, this isn't Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. I'd like to try to see them get to the Vatican. Unless you believe in the prophesies of St. Malachy, we're going to be OK. Oh, by the way, I was confirmed last night into the Catholic Church. It's official! Ha! And yes, I do love my German Shepherd. Benedict XVI is a great world leader to look to, even if one is not a Catholic. Let us not forget that it was anger over the abuses of Churches that led Fallaci to her more recents works.
Pim's Ghost,
Congratulations. That's big news. And, on the day before Easter.
Woo hoo!
Pope Benedict's views on Islam:

I have the cartoon on my blog.
Mustafa,
Thanks for the link. I was going to post on that, but once I realized the info was from the Hugh Hewitt interview with Father Fessio, I had to decline.
Fr. Fessio later backed down on what he said. It seemed that he backed down because of pressure from above.
Until there is clarification, I will not run with that.
However, yesterday, you provided me with a link I wanted to post on, and now I can't find it, damn it all.
If you remember what it was, could you repost it here?
Thanks
Pastorius,
There were two links about the mullahs' paranoia that individual apostasy, if unpunished, may lead to mass defections to Christianity.

BTW Re-reading the text of the second link above, one thing that really jumps out is the constant repetition of the idea of 'waging war on Allah'. This clearly demonstrates the Muslims' primitive anthropomorphic view of Allah, and the limited Muslim knowledge of the universe (presumably they never claimed to have invented the telescope)
Allah is an overgrown Arab tribal chieftain. To the Muslim, the universe is some sort of anarchic failed-state with various warlords and their followers fighting one another.
Allah bears little resemblance to the Judeo-Christian God, but he does bear a very strong resemblance to Mo's overinflated ego.
Another thing that occurred to me after reading the article, is that as well as being concerned with outright apostasy, the author is even more concerned with subversion and thought-crime ('hypocrisy'). This, of course, is typical of all totalitarian systems.
This paranoia about subversion seems very strange to non-Muslims. If I decide I prefer Buddhism to Christianity then I leave the Christian religion and join a Buddhist group. I certainly don't stay within a Christian Church and try to subvert or corrupt it.
The more I look at Islam, the weirder it becomes.
