Hizb'allah plans to hit Tel Aviv in "the coming days".
Though it may be self-destructive for Hezbollah to provoke Israel,Hizb'allah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah is directing the current conflict in a very deliberate manner, and intends to unleash a massive barrage of long-range missiles on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv in the coming days, Lebanese sources told the "Palestinian" Ma'an News Agency Tuesday.
The plan, according to the sources, is to allow Israel to reach the point where it is about to declare victory, and then introduce a major escalation by bombarding Israel's largest population center.
Syria and Iran are calling the shots, and their regional objectives trump the short-term survival of Hizb'allah as a fighting force.Could this be the "volcano of rage" that Ahmedinejad promised would cause a day of "rejoicing" very soon?

Tel Aviv, exactly where some friends of mine moved back to...I've never been so scared watching the news....
From everything I've read, both Israel and Syria would prefer not to get into a war with each other at this time. However, if Hizb'allah hits Tel Aviv, Israel will probably attack Syria.
Israel could inflict massive damage on Syria-- but, unfortunately, it wouldn't really help Israel much. And, an attack on Tel Aviv would be pretty bad.
I believe Israel has the capability to inflict signifiant damage on Iran as well-- the newest Israeli planes have a long range, and they have a good number of tankers for mid-air re-fueling. (apparently they also have 500 "bunker buster bombs"...some of which are currently being used on Hizb'allah bunkers in S. Beirut).
Hopefully, Iran and Syria would prefer not to be the target of israel's wrath at this time..and will use whatever influence they have over Hezb'allah to restrain them from attacking TA. (I believe that if Iran wanted to go to war with Israel, they would have already done so-- perhaps they are waiting 'till they have nukes).
I saved this quote (but lost the source): “The Syrians, my friends, will gladly fight down to the last Palestinian Arab.” And...they will gladly risk the lives-- of Lebanese Hezb'allah. But, I think they'd prefer not to have Israeli bombers over Damascus!
