Petition Against Starbucks Selling The New York Times

Starbucks sells the New York Times in its almost 8000 locations across the United States.

If they sell 15 copies per location (a lowball estimate) then that would mean they are responsible for over 100,000 copies sold per day.

This has got to stop. I don't even need to go into the reasons here, do I?

NO!

I want to start a petition.

Does anyone know how to set up a petition page? What costs will I incur?

It's pretty easy to set-up a petition at www.petitiononline.com.

However, you have to be vigilant about flamers.

Pamela at Atlas Shrugs had a couple of online petitions featured on her site in the past. I don't know if she created them, or was sponsoring someone else who had done that. But she's the best person I can come up with who might have some advice on online petitions.

BTW, I think that the "sniper in Iraq = incredible courage" photo caption could be a shark-jumping moment that could be a good cite for getting the NYT replaced by something else, the WSJ, or USA Today.

I can't figure out why they carry the NYT anyway, outside of NYC. I seldom see anyone buy it, and most of the time it gets skimmed in-house, and not bought. But I don't know how "international" Starbucks is, considering their big overseas push that they're prepping for, esp. in China. And if that could sway them away from kicking out a newspaper for being too anti-American. But let's see.

MTS,
Funny, the first person I went to with my petition idea was Pamela. She said she had no idea how to start a petition.

WE'll get it started. I'm having internet trouble at home so I've been MIA since yesterday. Maybe, I can get something done tonight.
