Proliferation Security Initiative conducted two dozen successful intercepts

Well, the good news you simply don't usually hear about....

WASHINGTON — A U.S.-led program has involved 70 nations in an effort to stop the transfer of weapons of mass destruction. One such operation resulted in the capture of a shipment of nuclear and missile equipment to Iran.

Over the past year the Proliferation Security Initiative blocked several attempts to ship missile and nuclear equipment to Iran, officials said. The detained shipments included dual-use and military products.
