Winds of War: Iran’s Magnificent Blunder

From The Gathering Storm

Iran's Hizbollah, which claims links to the Lebanese group of the same name, said on Tuesday it stood ready to attack Israeli and U.S. interests worldwide.

There it is. In black and white.

Iran will sponsor the next terrorist attack on the US. No more dithering from the apologists and appeasers who think that a ‘nation’ never attacked us, only a few criminal elements outside the mainstream of a peaceful religion. But an actual nation has been identified.

Will Bush and Rice take advantage of this intimidation from the thug in chief of Iran? Or will we take this opportunity dumped in our laps by the Iranian mad man to do a little intimidating ourselves. The next terrorist attack on the US will be officially sponsored by Iran and it’s Iran’s job to prove it isn’t not our job to prove it is. That’s what Madam Rice would say in a press conference today. Put the shoe on the other foot and make Iran sweat over the next attack on US interests in the world knowing we will go after the infrastructure in Iran - and a swipe at their nuke capacity of course - to prevent it from sponsoring any further terrorist acts against us.

Will we do it? I very much doubt it. Bush and Rice will sit there with s**t eating grins on their face and take the intimidation. What a wonderful opportunity missed to put Iran on notice and make them pray to their moon god to prevent any attacks on the US.

I know, if we attack Iran oil prices will go through the roof. Yes, they most probably will but it’s going to happen sooner or later. If are interests are attacked anywhere in the world, let’s push Iran back a few decades in weapons development now while we can. Besides, there seems to be little love lost between the Arabs of the Arab peninsula and Iran who are Persians. I would bet that the Saudis and other oil kingdoms will make up a lot of the shortfall from Iran and keep prices from rising to high after the initial shock.
