The Daily Express (British national newspaper) ran the following front page headline after a YouGov survey of the British public.
"Britain Says: We're At War with Islam"
Shock! Horror! How Islamophobic!
So let me get this straight. Up to 1/4 of British Muslims justify the 7/7 bombings in London, Jihadists the length and breadth of the country are inciting hatred towards the British - but if the British public stand up for themsleves, that's wrong?
There is already a well oiled campaign by sites linked above to complain and hound the Daily Express editor and political correspondent.

Well everything is 'relative' and undefinable to these 'liberal elitists' who think they are in a so much better position than the general public to assess their own lives.

Contrast this with Sharia, which reflects only the experience and changing values of one very flawed, primitive and limited man, Mohammed. Non-Muslims are struck not only by the barbarity of Sharia law, but also by its arbitrariness. The unintentionally hilarious website Ask Imam is full of instructions about which shoe to put on first, which direction to face when using a toilet or what to do if one breaks wind accidentally when praying. Trivial as this may seem to us, it is not trivial to a Muslim, for Islam makes no distinction between the serious and the trivial, between acts that harm others and acts that harm no one. Indeed, even if an action is harmful, it is still legal, provided it is prescribed by Mohammed.

Zionistyoungster - I think you misunderstood my comment. Talking about "war on jihad" rather than "war on Islam" is a matter of tactics - to get more people talking about it and to push "moderate" Muslims into taking sides.
I know as well as anybody that violent jihad - and there are other kinds of jihad - is part and parcel of Islam. My idea is to flush it out.
I hope you'll visit the New English Review again - we've got some good writers, eg Rebecca Bynum, Hugh Fitzgerald, Andrew Bostom, Andrew McCarthy etc.

I'm in two minds about moderate Muslims.
Part of me says they don't exist, they're just a term invented by the Muslims (all of them jihadis, no qualifiers) to weaken non-Muslim resistance by pandering to conventional, Leftist "reality is more complicated than your black-and-white caricatures!" sentiment.
The other part of me says they do exist, and may possibly be even quite numerous, but jihadi Islam paralyzes them into silence through fear of charges of apostasy and subsequent danger of assassination.
I don't know. My jury is still out on it. Still, I can't let it distract me from writing against jihadi Islam, even if I'm wrong in equating it with all of Islam (which I currently do in my writings).
