Yeah, I guess it is a better explanation for his behavior than simply that he is as crazy as a loon.
I'd say Mr. Turner is deserving of another wife of the caliber of the former Mrs. Turner, Hanoi Jane Fonda. Anybody know if Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks is available?

Well, as for myself, I'd much rather watch the news on French TV-- but only if its read by Melissa Theuriau

As for Turner, its not only what he says, but the way he says it...he could be drunk, but it seems to me that he is really not very intelligent. Amazing . . . that people like that are walking around...
Pastorius, actually I do have the scoop on that. I do not know if Turner is still a drunk, but he most certainly was. I am (rather proudly, even if Ted Turner BOUGHT IT) from Atlanta. Before I was born and Turner was already known for owning the then local station TBS, he was a regular at clubs. My parents saw him everytime they were out with friends, and he was quite the talk of the hip going-out set of the early 70s.
Apparently he'd show up at different bars, and everyone would gossip about it the next day, because he would have been in the same bar as everyone, covering all of Buckhead. Also of note, he had a different woman with him almost every night and he was always practically at the falling down stage. People my parents knew still talk about it. Can't believe he went anywhere. But all we heard growing up was what a pathetic stinking drunk womanizer the fool was. Now he's still a fool, I just don't know where he's stumbling into these days. Other than at the National Press Club. Seriously though, there are plenty of Atlantans from the early-mid 70s who will attest to this, and they weren't even the out-every-night types. Still, everytime they went out, oddly they saw TED!
