Apology ? Money? Weakened Security? Seatbelt Extensions ans a weapon? or Paranoid anti religious fervor?

I:

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Five of six Muslim imams who were taken off a US Airways flight in Minneapolis last month want an out-of-court settlement from the airline for the ordeal.

After the Nov. 28 incident, the airline offered to meet with the group of clerics Dec. 4, but the men declined and instead sought legal help from the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Washington.

The other side:
Mahdi Bray, executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, called removing the imams an act of Islamophobia and compared it to racism against blacks. "It's a shame that as an African-American and a Muslim I have the double whammy of having to worry about driving while black and flying while Muslim," Mr. Bray said. The protesters also called on Congress to pass legislation to outlaw passenger profiling.

However:

Omar Shahin, spokesman for 6 imams removed from flight, doubted Muslims were behind 9/11 and admitted ties to Osama

The case of U.S. Airways flight 300 gets stranger by the minute. When six traveling Muslim clerics were asked to deplane last week, it looked like another civil rights controversy against post-9-11 airport security.

Now new information is emerging that suggests it was all a stunt designed to weaken security….

Yesterday I spoke with a passenger on that flight, who asked that she be only identified as “Pauline.” A copy of airport police report, which I also obtained, supports Pauline’s account - and includes shocking revelations of its own. In addition, U.S. Airways spokeswoman Andrea Rader also confirmed much of what Pauline revealed…..

The passenger, who asked that she only be identified as “Pauline,” said she is afraid to give her full name or hometown. She is spending the night at “another location” because she does not feel safe at home. She credits reports that one imam is apparently linked to Hamas. “It is scary because these men could be dangerous.”

Pauline said she never wanted media attention. She wrote an email to U.S. Airways and cc:ed her daughter, who unexpectedly emailed it to her friends. As the letter took on an internet life of its own, it made its way to the inbox of a retired CNN executive producer. Then, to her dismay, the feeding frenzy began.

Not that I expect anthing to be done about it, but if it turns out this was a staged event by the 6 imams, then under the US Criminal code that would be crime. Disrupting air travel, breaching security, etc. The US Justice Dept should be looking into this to charge the imams.

Flying Imam "Omar" admitted on KFYI [Phoenix] that he had been tossed out of a Texas airport for the same trick. Producer Kate O'Neill also interviewed Flying Imam No.2 "Marwahn".....in a series of reports that exposed the group as dangerous provocateurs intent on probing airport security and de-sensitizing officials with regard to jihadi operations.

The response to the series by the public was amazing! Arizona wants the jihadniks shiped out of the country!

Producer Kate O'Neill was fired for her efforts and is now job hunting in another state. Thank you Clearchannel.

V.S. - I've been wondering the same thing ever since the 'cartoon crisis'. I think a lot of it is due to political correctness-- although that's a pretty lame excuse, as the rules of political correctness re Muslims seem to be different than those for other groups.

Probably most of it is due simply to a legitimate fear of violent attacks by offended Muslims. The vast majority of members of other minority groups do things like picket peacefully, write letters to the editor and letters to Congress, etc when they feel slighted. But, obviously, a significant group of Muslims get very violent when they feel offended-- and it seems to take very little to offend them.

Michael,
Thanks for letting us know about Kate.

I have been extremely busy the past couple of days and I am simply unable to keep up with the news. Sorry that i have been squandering the links you have been sending me.

Hi Krishna,

You are probably right about PC and especially fear being the reasons. As long as appeasers and defeatists set the agenda the more violent you behave the further you can go.

But some day there will be a reckoning...
