Somalia the model?

In other places I have detailed my feelings about what was taking place in Somalia.

Looking at this situation today, it seems clear that a consensus arose among Ethiopia, who has the most to lose, and Kenya who had a lot to lose, and had already suffered greatly from Salafi freaks, and the US to act in concert to erase the malignant islamist whackos and killers.

With ground troops from Ethiopia, and air and naval assets from america and border security from Kenya, it appears right now we have excised a tumor. The cancer is still there, but with prudent attention we have a remission which can become a cure.

The key to this success is that Ethiopia was willing to do whatever it takes to deny the enemy place and time. This is a salutary lesson for Iraq.

We do not have such fortune in our favor in Pakistan, but we do with India. Our 'friends' in KSA, Pakistan, and elsewhere in the Gulf area should know and feel every day, that the double game can be played both ways.

These people should recognize that in the end there will always be other allies, with whom we can achieve actions which WILL enhance the physical security of the american peoples.
