Nebraska Swift Plant Fires At Least 86 People Over Ramadan Demands

Latinos come here to work. They want to work in a situation built on fairness.

Muslims come here to conquer, and they are trying to set up a situation based upon fundamental unfairness.

Fairness (the equality of all people before the law) is the basis of America.

The Latinos, in this case, are saving our asses.

Thanks, mi amigos.

From Jihad Watch:

Another update on this story. "Muslim leader says 150 workers fired at Neb. plant," by Jean Oritz for the Associated Press, September 19:

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A Grand Island meatpacking plant fired at least 86 workers Friday after they walked off the job amid a dispute over prayers during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, company officials said.

But a Muslim leader and one of the fired workers said 150 Muslims lost their jobs.

JBS Swift & Co. spokeswoman Tamara Smid confirmed 86 firings late Friday, saying the employees were terminated earlier that day for repeatedly leaving work without authorization. She would not give any other details, including whether anyone else had been fired.

Mohamed Rage (Pastorius note: That's the Muslim name of the Millenium, isn't it?), who leads the Omaha Somali-American Community Organization, said 80 workers were thrown out after an altercation late Thursday. He says when they tried to return for their shift Friday, they were fired, along with 70 others.

Police said they were called to the plant late Thursday amid reports of a riot or serious fight. But when officers arrived, the situation had calmed, said police Chief Steve Lamken.

Muslim workers — mostly of Somali background — have been asking for accommodations with break times to allow prayer at sunset. The issue led to walkouts this week — not only from Muslims but from non-Muslims who protested such accommodations as preferential treatment.
One of the Somali workers, Mohamed Farah, said some workers tried to take a break to pray Thursday around sunset. The break had been arranged with managers, Farah told The Associated Press, with Rage translating the conversation.

Farah said tension had been building in recent days with Latino workers, who started protesting when they saw the Muslim workers leaving for break. Farah said the Latino workers started shouting and beating on their tables.

Two women, one 19 and another in her 40s, and a 20-year-old man fainted during the commotion because they had gone so long without food, Farah said. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.

Dan Hoppes, president of Local 22 of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, described what happened Thursday night differently than Rage and Farah did. He said that according to management and employees, 60 to 80 people quit late Thursday after raising the prayer issue and creating a commotion.

Hoppes said supervisors had told the workers to go back to work or leave and they left. Workers who walked off the job Monday and Tuesday in protest had to have known their leaving again would result in their termination, he said.

The plant employs about 2,500 people, not counting management. About a fifth of them are Muslim.

Tensions have also flared elsewhere, including Swift's plant in Greeley, Colo. More than 100 workers there were fired last week because the company said they walked away from work before their shifts ended.

Hoppes couldn't confirm the total number of workers affected Friday, but said he knew human resources representatives were posted at employee entrances to address workers.

"We don't have any clear cut information as to numbers or why they were terminated," he said. [...]

Swift said in a statement that the company is working to resolve the issues that have arisen.
"JBS values its diverse workforce and has a long track record of making significant accommodations to employees," the statement said. "We work closely with all employees and union representation to accommodate religious practices in a reasonable, safe and fair manner."

Fair is the key word.

Fair doesn't cut it here CW. The Somali agitators are legal immigrants. Not all the hispanic employees are.
I argue in favor of LEGAL immigration and enforcement of our immigration laws and securing of our borders.

That may have been considered FAIR. . .until now.

These manufactured incidents stick the knife in our back with pro-integration yet anti-assimilation migrants who do possess proper paperwork.

It may be legal but would you consider that fair? Fair to whom? Certainly not to the Tysons and Swift employees bearing the brunt of this political aggression.

Lets not forget, the Somalian Sharia fgm butchers are ONLY legal,

because they are brought over here by Catholic Charities and other RELIGIOUS PATRIARCHAL RIGHT WING SUPPORTED GROUPS...

question Americans should be asking is WHY?

Why the Somalian workers filling up positions where Latino workers [documented or not] Used to fill?

Who benefits from THAT?

$$$$$ thats who,

IF it is more economically 'profitable' to have Somalians, don't think for a minute, the Business world, will protect the Latino or you,

they'll appease Sharia, deport the others, if it saves them labor costs.

Its no coincidence that Bush even, made a nice little trade deal with Oman [do some reading about worker's abuses in Oman],

kaching kaching, whatever makes that profit sing--and its global, if you Think for one minute, that those forces will protect us from Sharia or the increase of Islam,

you're deluded. Once there is enough of the Muslims to work--and they keep bringing more of them over [and they sooo compliment the other form of theocratic 'fascism and misogyny', its no coincidence that it was a Archbishop who is notoriously known for his patriarchal misogyny to say, hey, lets have Sharia in UK],

wasn't no damn liberal or commie that said that--it was some BIBLE TOTING WOMAN HATING ANTI-ABORTIONIST LITURGY POWER MONGER WHO OPENED UP THAT SHARIA ACCEPTANCE DOOR IN THE UK],

and it will be the same way here too. Because hey,

its all about the Gold, Diamonds and mass hoarded wealth...profit. Once the Latinos are no longer needed--those revolts in these companies will not be tolerated,

they'll give the Somalians and other Muslims what they demand, and infidels will be working those double shifts--women will be raped with impunity and harassed at the work site,

and the bosses will look the other way, laughing all the way to the bank.

And the politicians in their corner, and a little 'hint',

its not just Democrats.

Natasha, your dark vision for the future seems a little overly pessimistic and cynical. But you might be right about why so many Somalians are in the U.S.

Not all Latinos are illegal. Not even MOST are illegal, although there are admittedly quite a lot who are illegal.

Not all rich people are cold-blooded or right-wing. Maybe not even most, although admittedly many are.

Not all Catholics agree with their Pope or Archbishops.

And times change. People change. Opinions change.

I argue in favor of LEGAL immigration also, and a strict limit on the immigration of Muslims, or even a complete ban on Muslims until we can figure out a way to give them an accurate lie-detection test and question them about their loyalties.

By the way, Natasha, the reason I dislike pessimism is not merely because it is unpleasant or feels bad. Pessimism is demoralizing. It sucks the fight out of people.

When you're in a difficult situation, morale can (and often does) make the difference between succeeding or failing. In a dangerous situation, such as trying to survive in a blizzard in the wilderness, morale can be the difference between living and dying.

Optimism, in the scientific sense of the word, is not a matter of wishful thinking or "trying to look on the bright side." It is a matter of not making mistakes in your thinking such as overgeneralizations, all-or-nothing thinking, negative guessing, or ignoring alternatives. Read more about that here: Morale For The Citizen Warrior.

But the point is, overly pessimistic predictions should not go unchallenged because of the side-effects: demoralization, demotivation, and giving up.

So far they have shown to be less productive than Latinos.
