Observing "Moderate Muslims" In Their Native Habitat

It seems the natives are restless.

From Punditarian at the Astute Bloggers:

The London TIMES reports:

The London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre, known as the Regent’s Park Mosque, is one of the most respected centres for moderate Islam in western Europe.

However,
an undercover investigation by the Channel 4 Dispatches programme has found extremist preachers have held study circles there and are teaching followers a hardline version of the faith followed in Saudi Arabia, known as Wahhabism.

The documentary, to be broadcast tomorrow, is a follow-up to Undercover Mosque, which investigated a number of mosques and was made by the same team more than a year ago. That resulted in an investigation by West Midlands Police, who accused the makers of distorting sermons and inflaming tensions.

Officers took no action against extremist preachers whose words were broadcast. Ofcom rejected the complaint and the force had to apologise to Channel 4. It agreed at the High Court to pay £100,000 for libel.

In the new documentary, a female reporter infiltrated women’s study circles. In one, a preacher using the name Umm Amira told followers: “We are not going to be like animals . . . or to be like the homosexuals, God save us from that, you understand? We have to take the judgment, the judgment is to kill them.”

Umm Amira is recorded as saying converts from Islam should also be killed.

“He is Muslim and he gets out of Islam, he doesn’t want any more. What are we going to do? We kill him, kill, kill.”

In another study circle, Umm Amira describes Christians as “vile”. Another preacher, Umm Saleem, tells her congregation not to take British citizenship or become friends with nonMuslims.
(Emphasis added.)

What else about "moderate Islam" do you want to know?

Pastorius comment: I don't think there is much we need to know. It's pretty fucking blatant, isn't it?

Muslims are as blatant as Kim Kardashian's boobs, but not even a millionth the fun.

You can find the documentary

Regarding 'Undercover Mosque 2', there was nothing factually surprising to anyone familiar with this site or jihadwatch or MEMRI.

However there was a certain amount of subliminal taqiyya in the programme. The impression was given that if it weren't for the Saudi-sponsored Wahhabi teachings, Islam would be warm, fluffy and cuddly - without any jihad or commands to kill the Christian/Jewish pigs and monkeys.

This is totally untrue and likely to mislead gullible kuffars.

The Wahhabi sect is a comparative new development in Sunni Islam, having been founded by Muhammad ibn-Abd-al-Wahab (1703–1792) . The Wahhabis have recently displaced the earlier opposing sects such as the Sufis.

However these earlier sects also promoted jihad 'One must go on jihad (i.e., warlike razzias or raids) at least once a year...one may use a catapult against them [non—Muslims] when they are in a fortress, even if among them are women and children. One may set fire to them and/or drown them...' - Sufi Al—Ghazali (1058—1111)

So it is a serious error to believe that Saudi Arabia is the sole root of all evil.

The evil is within all forms of Islam and has been there from the beginning Also, although the programme concentrated on well-funded Saudi hate-propagandists, there was no mention of the less well-funded but far more numerous graduates from the Pakistani madrassahs of death, who seem to comprise most of the terrorists active in Britain.

Pastorius,

they don't sound very Moderate. If this is a what the Moderates sound like, I would hate to hear what the radicals sound like.

And yet, as the article states, the Regent's Park Mosque is known for being the height of moderation in Islam.

Even the highest-ranking Muslim Member of Parliament said it was his favorite Mosque.

Right now, I can't remember his name, but you can find the quote in the first version of Undercover Mosque on YouTube.
