I’ve been thinking lately about the question “So what?” as it pertains to Obama’s campaign and his possible Presidency.
But let me back up a bit.
Those of us who have anti-jihadi blogs fret that the general public lacks the awareness of the Islamic threat and that we are only preaching to the choir. We believe that the ‘Islam is peace’ mantra and most Muslims are moderate is held by the vast majority of American citizens.
But there’s one thing that might prove that false.
Answer me this.
If most Americans are either oblivious to or seem to be unconcerned with the Islamic threat to our society, then why does the Obama campaign hysterically deny that Obama has a Muslim past? I mean, if it matters so little to the majority of Americans who will cast their vote in the coming national opinion poll on November 4th, why would Obama’s Muslim past, true or untrue mean anything?
What I mean is ‘So what?’
Could it be true that the internal polling of the Obama campaign has uncovered the reality that most Americans find something threatening with Islam and the Muslims who practice it? At least, if true, enough voters who hold this feeling will not vote for Obama?
The answer to the question of “So what?” goes even further if Obama is elected.
Case in point, Biden’s comments at a fundraiser last weekend. He stated that it is a 100% certainty that, if elected, Obama will be ‘tested’ by our enemies within six months of taking office and that test could come in several forms.
I assume one of those ‘test’ would be another massive terrorist attack on
Biden confided that Obama’s response will not be popular at first with the American people but in time they will see the error of their ways and agree with him. Past quotes shows that Obama’s response would be one of appeasement and soul searching to discover why the world hates us so instead of an instant retaliation as GW had done.
Excuse me, but logic says otherwise.
2010 is not 2001. Then few people knew about Islam and Muslim beliefs in 2001. We were caught unawares by this political ideology that was following through on a modern day strategy – The Project - for world domination over the last hundred years.
In 2001 we knew little of Islam outside of it being a quaint behavior practiced in the wastelands of the Middle-East.

I actually do NOT believe that such a test would be a terrorist attack. Whatever this test is, and I would think something like Russian air squadrons and a permanent naval base (can anyone say Monroe?), will be a test to see what can be gained or gotten away with.
Islamists don't want to 'get away' with anything.

It looks to me like it's going to be Iran-Israel conducting the "test". It has been confirmed that Iran is about 4-5 months away from developing a nuclear device. It also appears Bush is not going to attack Iran, though that could be a misperception. What is becoming more likely is Israel attacking Iran between the US election and inauguration. They will wait until they are sure it's Obama in which case they know they'll be sold down the river. Obama will condemn Israel and start spinning his "plan" that Biden tells us we must be patient and wait for. Even if much of Iran's nuclear sites are damaged or destroyed we cannot be sure there will not be some form of attack against Israel. As someone noted, bombs fit in trucks, not just missles. In addition to Iran, there is AQ's ever-simmering "American Hiroshima" plot. What it boils down to is the excrement is going to hit the air-circulating device. Once in office, Obama is going to react in a way that will outrage many Americans, and everyone from his Obama Youth storm troopers to his legions of nitwitted richbitch soccermommies (I'm talkin' from my own neighborhood here) will be out to silence the dissenters.
Russian air bases in Venezuela? Sure, why not? We are not dealing with Nikita and Jack here. Nothing can make the Cuban Missle Crisis look like a walk in the park, but this thing is working on it.

River - political silencing will not work this time around. Think outraged red necks rounding up Muslims between the ages of 15 and 35 and putting them in make-shift detention camps.

If Obama is president and during his first term in office, there is another major terrorist attack on US soil and he attempts to appease the terrorists, (which he might) I have a good feeling it will lead to an electoral downfall for him and his entire party. I think that the anger most Americans would feel because he wouldn't stand up to our enemies, would be overwhelming, and they would be angry at the Democrats too, since they would probably go along. It could lead to one of the biggest landslides victories for the Republicans.
I just came on here to say something almost exactly the same as Damien just did. I was just watching The War Behind Closed Doors by FrontLine, and it showed footage of the president addressing congress after 9/11, when the president said we were going to liberate Afghanistan and destroy the Taliban, and he received a vigorous standing ovation from both sides of the isle.
And that feeling would be even stronger now if we had another major Jihadi attack on U.S. soil.
9/11 was planed when Bill Clinton was in Office. So a terrorist attack on us soil whitin the first six month of a new us precidency is unlikly because of the tough Bush Polici on Terrorism. Still, the masterminds of Terror arn't stupid, that's because anything goes - unfortunately. After all, there are some news, that a al qaida linked website supports mccain - don't be surprised - if al qaida's really looking for a sursprise (maybe opening the hunt for the head of a fallen muslim in the white house ...) they have to way in somehow. thats 5th Generation warfare ...
