EU presidency: Israel ground op in Gaza 'defensive not offensive'
|By Haaretz Service and Reuters|
PRAGUE - European Union president, the Czech Republic, said Saturday an Israeli ground offensive in Gaza was "defensive, not offensive" action.
Bush Says "One Way Ceasefire In Gaza" Will Not Work
Israel Belongs to the Jews: Muslims Must Get Out
If ever there were an unjust cause, it is the cause of Muslims attempting to steal Israel from its rightful owners, the Jews. Back in 1947 when the allied powers ceded a small slice of desert to the Jews, the Jews called the small plot "Israel." They were immediately attacked by the surrounding Muslim countries who quickly got their asses handed to them. In fact, every time the Muslims attacked, Israel only got bigger. After the 1967 war there was a popular saying: "Visit Israel and see the pyramids!"
The Muslims who want to steal the Jewish homeland call themselves "Palestinians." It's an Arabic word for squatters. The Palestinians think they are entitled to the land since their ancestors successfully stole it centuries ago. That's back when Muslim hordes were gobbling up great swaths of land owned by Christians and Jews; they could do this because their big fat prophet told them they could. They should have asked my prophet; he would have flipped them the bird. Yes, you Muslims, my prophet can whip your prophet any day of the week.
Muslims just hate it when land they successfully stole has been taken back. They are still pissed off about Spain, which they like to call "Andalusia." They conquered it and ruled it for a few centuries until the local inhabitants had enough and kicked them out. Islamic conquest is not necessarily a permanent condition. The Greeks also rebelled and threw out their Muslim conquerers. What nerve. Don't they realize that Allah gave their country to the Muslims? Non-Muslims should just shut up and die as they are interfering with Allah's plan.
Sorry Muzzies, but we just don't agree. We think your big fat prophet was a phony and your evil god doesn't even exist. Well maybe, but by his other name, i.e. Lucifer.
Muslims have been attacking other people for centuries and are just outraged when anyone resists. Now they are busily infiltrating and subverting the West, so that we see crowds of idiots in those awful fish hook designs walking around with their heads well wrapped looking as serious as a heart attack and as uncomfortable as a case of hemorrhoids. You see them carrying signs calling the Israelis "murderers" and accusing them of "war crimes." You have to understand the language difference, however. "Murderer" in Arabic means "anyone who resists Islamic aggression" and "war crimes" means "anyone who fights back when Muslims attack."
Of course, there are our usual home-grown morons called Leftists, like International Answer, a communist organization who always supports everything evil and opposes everything good. Which probably explains why they support communism, since it completely eradicates human freedom and prosperity. Now they are supporting the murderous Muslims because, well, because they kill people and conquer people and blow up buildings and busses and pizza parlors and otherwise make nuisances of themselves. Commies like people who share their values. It's understandable, I guess.
Ignore the head-wrapped, fish-hook design-wearing morons with their nasty little signs. It's time we got in their faces and told them the truth: that their crappy religion is an evil joke, that we are not fooled by their lies, that we will never accept head scarfs when baseball caps are available. And as long as they are going to hate Jews, plot to commit terrorist acts and plan to replace democracy with Sharia, they have no place in the West and need to relocate to the desert shit hole of their choice.
While we're on the subject, some other things we need to make clear: Israel belongs to the Jews not the Muslims. Get the hell out of Israel and do it now. After sixty years we hoped you would get the hint by now but some people just aren't sensitive enough to pick up on subtle clues. I guess it's time we were more direct, which probably explains the Israeli troops on the Gaza border.
HAMAS COUNTERATTACKS IN FRANCE
HAMAS COUNTERATTACKS IN FRANCE
*******UPDATE (Reliapundit): JTA: A large pro-Palestinian protest turned violent in the heart of Paris' high-end shopping district.
A pro-Palestinian umbrella group, including France's Communist Party, led over 21,000 protestors, according to initial statistics, in an anti-Israel march Saturday through the city's luxury shopping district, famous for its Gallery Lafayette department store. The islamo-thugs are trying to intimidate the entire West. Gaza/Israel is just a front-line action. Paris, London and the other European capitals are rearguard actions. And they have the support of the Left. Europe ought to be unabashedly supporting Israel, because appeasing these thugs in Gaza and in the banlieues only encourages them.
The rally was blocked by police from reaching its planned final destination, the Israeli embassy.
Protesters set cars on fire and several luxury store windows, such as the Louis Pion watch store, were smashed and looted by protesters by evening.

One night as we were talking, he got on my laptop and asked me, "How do you spell Mohammad?" And then, "How do you spell Qur'an?" I didn't know what he was doing, but then he said, "I'll be damned."
He was looking on Osho's web site. He is a big fan of Osho, a spiritual teacher from India who writes on every religion, revealing the shared, universal, spiritual nature at the core of every religion (or as we found out, almost every religion).
My son assumed that since Osho has written a book on every religion (and praised the core teachings of every one of them), Osho must have written one on Islam, and my son was going to read it and get "the other side of the story." But what he found was that Osho has not written about Islam, and not only that, he explained why he hasn't. Here is what Osho said:
Mohammed was an absolutely illiterate man, and the Koran, in which his sayings are collected, is ninety-nine percent rubbish. You can just open the book anywhere and read it, and you will be convinced of what I am saying. I am not saying on a certain page — anywhere. You just open the book accidentally, read the page and you will be convinced of what I am saying.
Whatsoever one percent truth there is here and there in the Koran is not Mohammed's. It is just ordinary, ancient wisdom that uneducated people collect easily — more easily than the educated people, because educated people have far better sources of information — books, libraries, universities, scholars. The uneducated, simply by hearing the old people, collect a few words of wisdom here and there. And those words are significant, because for thousands of years they have been tested and found somehow true. So it is the wisdom of the ages that is scattered here and there; otherwise, it is the most ordinary book possible in the world.
Muslims have been asking me, "Why don't you speak on the Koran? You have spoken on The Bible, on the Gita, this and that." I could not say to them that it is all rubbish; I simply went on postponing. Even just before I went into silence, a Muslim scholar sent the latest English version of the Koran, praying me to speak on it. But now I have to say that it is all rubbish, that is why I have not spoken on it — because why unnecessarily waste time?- From Unconciousness to Consciousness

A United States flag defaced with a star of David and a swastika is held during a protest in Rome January 3, 2009. Thousands of chanting, banner-waving demonstrators marched in cities across Europe on Saturday to demand a halt to Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip. Protests were held in Britain, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey as the Israeli offensive entered its second week, and before Israel confirmed ground forces had entered Gaza. Welcome to your life, Europe.
EUROPE EMBRACES THE DARKEST EVIL AGAIN
It is hard to believe that while Shoah victims and holocaust survivors still walk among us, that we would witness an evil so severe and grotesque that it would make the rhetoric of third Reich look mild.
Yes, the Nazis killed millions -- that was the obvious monstrous result of their campaign.
We have not yet witnessed the "final solution" of Islamic jihad - but there are incontrovertible facts that are blinding. The Nazis hid their crimes. The Nazis pretended to be doing one thing while subversively carrying out its "extermination" of Jews, gays, gypsies, etc. They engaged in rhetoric and obfuscation.
This time is different. The Muslims are not engaging in rhetoric. They are not pretending. They want the Jews dead and they exalt in their wild screams of blood lust. Such joy, such happiness at their Jew hating chants from a joyless people.
The Germans went to war, conquered countries and with the help of those weak governments and people annihilated the Jews. The Holocaust was a German initiative subsequently carried out by every nation in Europe, with the exception of Denmark.
It's not a national initiative this time. It's global........... a wave of evil has washed over this earth like a veritable tsunami and it has colored everything.
I expect this barbarity and Jew hated from the Arab/Islamic world. It's what they do and what they have always done.
But what was the lesson that Europe learned after the holocaust? It was not that evil is bad and that they behaved like monsters but as Caroline Glick said in our interview, that " rather that everything was caused by nationalism and therefore what we really need to do is have a European Union that will obviate our need for nationalism so that we can become this transnational gobbletygook and we'll all get together and therefore we won't have another Auschwitz". But really the lesson the Europeans should have been is that "we were evil and we have to be good. And that is the lesson we have to learn and and we have to be able and willing ot make moral distinctions and stand up for the good and fight evil and that is something the Europeans refuse to do."
Once again Europe chooses to embrace madness and evil as its central unifying characteristic. And this time England is leading the way.
I believe good will triumph over such overwhelming odds and numbers. I know it, in my bones but one has to look at the global landscape and say, at what cost?

Israel hits Gaza from land, sea and air
By Nidal al-Mughrabi
GAZA (Reuters) - Israeli forces hit the Hamas in the Palestinian enclave as tanks and troops waited on the border for a possible ground offensive.from land, sea and air on Saturday, stepping up their offensive against
In the bloodiest incident of the day, an air strike on a mosque killed 11 Palestinian civilians, including children, and wounded dozens as they prayed, Hamas officials said.
Hamas kept up its rocket attacks on southern Israel in defiance of international calls for it to halt such actions.
As the Israeli offensive entered its second week, prospects of a ceasefire any time soon looked dim.
"I hope the results of this operation will bring about quiet in the long term. The moment they fire, we will respond with great force," Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said on Israeli TV.
"It could be that several operations will be needed in this regard."
Witnesses said the air strike on the mosque in the town of Beit Lahiya took place as people prayed inside. At least 11 civilians were killed and 50 wounded, Hamas and medical officials said.
Rescuers pulled people from the debris and the bodies of victims lay in pools of blood, the witnesses said.
An Israeli military spokesman had no immediate comment. Israel has targeted mosques previously saying that Hamas had used them as command posts and fire bases.
Saturday's incident brought the Palestinian death toll to at least 446, with about 2,050 wounded, in the worst sustained bloodshed in decades of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
Four Israelis have also been killed in cross-border rocket attacks by Hamas and other.
Just before nightfall, Israel launched artillery fire on Gaza for the first time in the offensive, creating a fog of dust and smoke that obscured visibility.
played down speculation the artillery fire heralded a ground offensive.
"I don't think this is the next stage. This is part of a military campaign being waged and now artillery cannons have joined in," he told Israel Radio.
Israeli tanks and troops were massed on Gaza's borders ready for a ground invasion that remains an option unless international efforts to arrange a ceasefire gain momentum.
Israeli air strikes targetedfrom early morning on Saturday and naval vessels also shelled the area from the Mediterranean, witnesses said.
One strike killed Abu Zakaria al-Jamal, a senior commander of Hamas's armed wing, Hamas said. He was the second Hamas leader killed in three days.
Israeli war planes also hit a private Palestinian college called the American School, killing a guard.
Israel launched the campaign, called Operation Cast Lead, on December 27 saying it wanted to stop Hamas rocket attacks on southern Israel.
Those attacks have continued however and 17 Hamas rockets smacked into Israel on Saturday, the Israeli military said. Two people were hurt by shrapnel when a rocket hit a building in the port city of Ashdod.
The Hamas cabinet said on Saturday the campaign would not force it to bow to Israel's will.
"Whoever thought a change in the political area could come through the bombs of planes and the tanks and without dialogue is an illusionist," it said in a statement after meeting in Gaza in an undisclosed location.
Israel denies that it aims to topple Hamas but says the rocket attacks must stop before it halts operations.
NOWHERE TO RUN
The plight of the 1.5 million Palestinians crammed into Gaza was growing more desperate even before the mosque was hit. People sheltered in their homes and humanitarian agencies warned that food, water and medical supplies were running short.
"Nobody feels safe," an International Committee of the Red Cross worker said in a report on the body's website.
"The problem is that we have nowhere to run for shelter."
Bombs have damaged the water system and utilities were barely functioning. The electric power plant has shut down and the sanitation system cannot treat the sewage.
In the winter cold, fuel for heating and cooking gas was no longer available, aid agencies said.
"We do not sleep at all at night. We stayed awake the whole night because of the planes," said Umm Kamel, a mother of 11 baking bread in her home in Gaza.
Israel has denied a humanitarian crisis is unfolding and says it has allowed food and medicine convoys into Gaza daily.
U.S. President George W. Bush said Hamas -- which the United States, Israel's main backer, deems a terrorist organization -- must take the first step toward a ceasefire.
"Another one-way ceasefire that leads to rocket attacks on Israel is not acceptable," Bush said in remarks prepared for his weekly Saturday radio address.
Israel occupied Gaza in the 1967 Middle East War and after Palestinian uprisings formally ended its military rule in 2005, although it still controls the borders.
International peace efforts aimed at creating an independent Palestinian state foundered after Hamas won elections in 2006 and drove Fatah forces loyal tofrom Gaza a year later.
Hamas called off a six-month truce with Israel last month and stepped up the rocket attacks, complaining at Israeli raids into Gaza and a continuing blockade of the enclave.
IDF starts 'massive' artillery fire on northern Gaza
IDF starts 'massive' artillery fire on northern GazaShavua tov, a good week to everyone.
Late Saturday afternoon the IDF started what Israel Radio calls 'massive'artillery fire on northern Gaza in yet another indication that a ground operation into Gaza is imminent.
According to reports, the artillery units were attacking targets in northern Gaza from where Palestinian terrorists had been firing rockets at southern Israel. But apparently the ground attack is not yet a done deal.
The shelling was seen as a possible signal that a ground invasion could be nearing.
Warplanes, gunboats and artillery units blasted more than 40 Hamas targets throughout Saturday, including weapons storage facilities, training centers and Hamas leaders' homes.
Air strikes that had waned during the day gathered pace after dark. One raid hit a mosque in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya, killing 10 people and wounding 33, seven critically, according to a Palestinian health official.
Other Palestinian reports said that the mosque was hit by an artillery shell.
The IAF also hit a mosque in northern Gaza and the home of senior Hamas commander Abu Zacharia Al-Jamal. A Hamas spokesman announced that al-Jamal was killed in the attack, which would make him the third senior operative in the group to be targeted in the past three days.
Israeli defense officials said some 10,000 troops, including tank, artillery and special operations units, were massed on the Gaza border and prepared to invade. They said top commanders were split over whether to send in ground forces, in part because such an operation could lead to heavy casualties but also because they believed Hamas already had been dealt a heavy blow. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were classified discussions.Earlier in the day, the IDF dropped leaflets on Gaza City, urging people to stay off the streets.
More information here and here (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
Meanwhile, Israel Radio reports that 150 moonbats demonstrating against the war in Tel Aviv were overwhelmed by some 4-5000 spontaneous counter-demonstrators. Heh.
By the way, the picture at the top of this post is not from today.
UPDATE 7:11 PM
Israel Radio just reported that al-Jazzeera's Arabic correspondent in Gaza says that they are expecting a ground invasion tonight.
In the news at the top of the hour, Israel Radio reported that Hezbullah has threatened to shell northern Israel in the event of an Israeli ground attack on Gaza.
