Political Punch and PL Forum reported:
President-elect Obama stopped by the Marine Corps base in Hawaii Kaneche Bay where servicemen and -women were eating Christmas dinner in Kailua Thursday evening.
“Just wanted to say hi, hey guys,” Obama said as he walked into the Anderson dining hall which was decked out in Christmas decorations.
The diners represented seven military units -- Marine and Navy -- some of whom were joined by their families for Christmas dinner.
As Obama entered the room, it was absent of the regular fanfare of cheering and clapping. The diners were polite, staying seated at their respective tables and waited for the president-elect to come to them to stand up.
Maybe they were just in awe of his waxed pecs, and "rough boy" look.
LOL
That kind of thing does usually meet with stony silence in the presence of real men.

I wonder how effective BHO can be as commander in chief?
maybe they were wondering what's going to happen to this country when we go from "one nation under GOD" to "one nation under obama".it's a little scary, don't you think?
I hear Bush and Cheney always had the troops ordered to cheer when they showed up. Looks like Obama doesn't treat our military as a play toy of the president.
You want to provide some links, Anomie?
When I was with the 25th in OIF 2 we were ordered to cheer by our Brigade Commander when the President came to our FOB. And when Rumsfeld came as well.
Interesting. That is lame, if true.
How did you end up in the service?
Not exactly the truth. They were lined up against the walls all starry eyed & chilled with excitement. The majority were absolutely star struck but behaved like the great service men & women they were taught to be.
I know because I was there!
The best part was after he left... then they lost their cool.
Sorry, but the BO Kool-aid is stronger than the Hater-ade.
Obama is not yet the Commander -in- Cheif.
When he is officially sworn in norman protocal will be observed
