All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

The Midnight Special
Before we had our MTV and VH1 and CMT and all the rest we had Friday Night Videos and Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special, something to look forward to all week. Never knew who was going to be on.
Breezin' was such a cool album when it came out, Benson crossing over and topping both R&B & Pop charts. Wore my copy out. This guy is as smooth a guitarist and vocalist as they come.
Do you remember Don Kirschner's Rock Concert show?
That was so fucking funny. Kircshner was such a nerd and he insisted on introducing all the acts.
That was the only other rock n' roll we'd ever get back in those days. Though, as unlikely as it seems, David Bowie was on Bing Crosby's Christmas Special one year.
LOL
And, here's a particularly funny intro from Don Kirschner:
I remember Kirschner well. When my wife and I were first dating we'd spend Friday and Saturday nights watching the 3 shows -- Midnight Special (Wolfman Jack!), Rock Concert and Friday Night Videos.
Bowie on Crosby spawned The Little Drummer Boy duet.
Whenever I heard the word "suit" used derisively about business guys/lawyers, I always thought about Don K. He seemed the ultimate "suit" in a world of brilliant, insane artists.
But I loved that show. I think it was where I heard Prince for the first time. He was wearing transparent pants, I think.

That George Benson feller is a pretty good gee-tar player.
