Neda

There are some things that just crystallize the evil people are up against. So easy is it for us to say, "Go, Iranians!" from within the comfort of our air-conditioned homes on this, the most sacred day of Grilling in America, but on this father's day, one father must watch his daughter die. He must watch her murder and be helpless to save her.

Women already have it bad in Iran, as they do everywhere else in Mohammed's Dystopia. But to watch the lifeblood seep from every orifice on her lovely face is almost unbearable to watch. It makes me angry.

Tempted to say "Enough"! But it will and must be up to the Iranian people to jettison from their government, from their lives, their minds and souls this black cult of death. What good is a Mosavi government where the mullahs are dictating his every move? He is no more good or evil than Ahmadinejad.

Once and for all, as the Germans in defeat, and likewise the Japanese, the people must rise and repent of this insane religion and replace it with a truer one, or none at all.

Some are calling this a rallying cry. We shall see, Carlos.

The saddest thing I ever saw.

She's so beautiful.

The people need to understand what this means. The government is willing to spill blood to keep itself in power, thus the protesters MUST look towards spilling the blood of the government. Although many will die, attacking the government will be the only way for the people to have back their country.

The government working for the people...where is this concept in Iran??

CNN just had a long segment about Neda and about how her death has become an important symbol.

More and more Iranians are calling for the rest of the world to step up and condemn the regime in Iran. Neda's death is playing a large part in this new outcry.

You know, Jewel, you are only part correct, in my humble opinion.

The Iranian people do need to take inititative here. Clearly, we are not going to go in an save their asses, though, this might not be a bad time to make some strikes on their nuclear sites.

But, what you said about Germany and Japan just isn't correct historically.

The truth is, we dictated their Constitutions to them and we stayed in both countries, arresting and imprisoning agitators (just as we are doing in Iraa) until about 1952.

We basically forced Democracy on them and stayed until we were pretty damned sure they weren't going to go back to their totalitarian roots.

Not only that, but we also made sure that they could not develop military forces. Japan has only, in recent years, been allowed by us to once again have a military force.

I'm not saying this is what we should do in Iran. But, it is what we did in Japan, Germany and the American South (post Civil War) AND, IT IS WHAT WE SHOULD HAVE DONE IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN.

What did I say on the phone yesterday, AOW? I said, as weird as it is to say, the fact that this woman is beautiful means a lot to the power of this video.

I'm very hopeful that this video will coalesce a huge well of force for the Iranian people, but in their country and internationally.

I stand corrected Pastorius. I did know that we did force them to repudiate their evil philosophies, with trials in Germany and by forcing them to ban emperor worship. I should have been more specific. Until we begin to undermine ISLAM everywhere, it will be a serious problem.

We don't have the will to do it in Iran. However, we could help. But, that is unlikely, given the fact that Obama doesn't even seem to believe in unalienable rights.

We're too late in Iraq and Afghanistan, considering we allowed them to enshrine Sharia law in their Constitutions.

We did not follow out own blueprint for establishing Democracies where tyrranies had ruled.

That does not mean I think the situation in Iran is untenable.

I think the Iranian people really want something closer to what we think of as Freedom. The Persians are not Arabs, inculcated in radical Islam. They are a multi-faceted culture, and Islam is only part of their history.

Additionally, anything they do to unseat the Mullahs will likely only result in a better situation for them and the rest of the world.

A repudiation of the 1979 Islamic Revolution could cause a lot of Moslems to re-evaluate "the will of Allah."

Yep.

We should also thank the benefits of technology that the Iranian government couldn't undermine so that the world couldn't see the image.

I just read at For freedom and democracy in Iran, that the government won't let the people have her memorial at the mosque. He's really pissed.

AOW,
Yes. It's harder to keep the people ignorant in the internet age. That's for sure.

Right now, islam is what they know. It was shoved down their throats. They now have experienced an islamic government, something their parents revolted for. I think they now realize or are beginning to realize that an islamic government and democracy don't mesh with each other and they are not happy. If these people can experience freedom, the women can get their rights, islam will be put where it belongs in qom. As far as leaving islam completely? won't happen in the near future. Too many generations to unravel. i do envision more of them becoming non practicing IF they can gain their freedom to make that decision. they are a very young' modern country. time fore the old, bearded fuddy duddies to hit the road.
