Technically Obama may not be attacking secularism, but he doesn't seem to understand that the Vail is an instrument of Islamic fundamentalists to oppress their women.

I don't know why he didn't take Michelle with him when he visited Saudi Arabia. I don't know if he took her with him to other Islamic countries. We can speculate. But even if he knows how the Saudis view women, I'm not sure that means that he realizes how the vail is and instrument of oppression or that by supporting it, he is weakening the west's secular foundation. Make no mistake, Obama's judgment in this, as well as many other instances is abhorrent.

Sorry about any confusion you may have had. But I'm not the one who asked, "Why didn´t Obama take Michelle with him when he visited Islamic countries?" That was someone responding to what I wrote. I know that some people might not care much about this, but I don't want to take credit for something I did not do. Plus, anonymous wasn't the first person I heard asking that question. I remember hearing Micheal Savage asking the same question, so even if I was the one who posted it, I would have to give him credit for being the first person to ask it.

Can you imagine Michelle donning a veil or entering a mosque through an alternate entry to show 'respect' to Islam or muslim 'men'? Michelle placed her hand on the Queen - against all protocol - and made headlines across the UK and blog pages across the globe.
Nope, I can't visualize her pulling a Pelosi or Clintonesque moment like that.
To her credit, frankly.
If only Obama had as much spine as his wife does in that way.
