Bill Ayers Admits He Wrote Dreams From My Father?

From Backyard Conservative:

There I was, sitting in Reagan National Monday morning, sipping a Starbucks by the United counter before going through security. I had a little time, so I was browsing through the news. Some military guys had borrowed a chair from my table. I looked up from time to time to enjoy the sun streaming through. That's when I saw Bill Ayers, an instant blight. Scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wirerims, heading to order. I gathered my things, got my camera ready, and snapped a shot right when he got his coffee.

I asked--what are you doing in D.C. Mr. Ayers?

For a moment I thought he might be on my flight back to Chicago. Charming. Initially I guess he thought I was laying claim to his coffee or something. He gave me an uneasy cheesy smile when he realized I was taking his picture. I asked him if he was speaking at GW? (Only I said GFW, guess I had the VFW on my mind) He said oh you mean GW, he said no...was trying to decide if I was a fan, then said he was giving a lecture in Arlington to a Renaissance group on education--that's what I do, education--you shouldn't believe everything you hear about me, you know nothing about me. I said, I know plenty--I'm from Chicago, a conservative blogger, and I'll post this. (Oh, yeah, Bill Ayers, quite the Renaissance man, nail-bomber extraordinaire. Gee, I see another friend of Barack, U.S. Sec. of Education Arne Duncan was there too. "The conference theme is “A Time for Reflection, Celebration and Rebirth.” How touching. At best, useless, at worst, so wrong.)

Then, unprompted he said--I wrote Dreams From My Father. I said, oh, so you admit it. He said--Michelle asked me to. I looked at him. He seemed eager. He's about my height, short. He went on to say--and if you can prove it, we can split the royalties. So I said, stop pulling my leg. Horrible thought. But he came again--I really wrote it, the wording was similar. I said I believe you probably heavily edited it. He said--I wrote it. I said--why would I believe you, you're a liar.

He had no answer to that. Just looked at me. Then he turned and walked off, and said again his bit about my proving it and splitting the proceeds.

But the question remains--is Barack Obama a fraud? Is his myth-making creation and only major accomplishment a product of Bill Ayers' imagination? (or his own) Is our President Barack Obama's biography written by an unrepentant domestic terrorist?

Perhaps I'll become Bill Ayers' favorite conservative blogger and he can prove his authorship himself--turn over your notes Bill. And how about turning yourself in for your crimes.

I remember that era, Mr. Ayers. People died because of your actions, including your girlfriend. More would have if you had been more successful. And yet you have the gall to teach the teachers of our young. I won't forget your murderous intent, your shameful acts, your contemptible lies and evasions. And when history is written, I hope you'll be reviled--or forgotten.

As for our President, the verdict is still out. But Barack Obama called Bill Ayers friend and colleague for years. That in itself makes a damning statement.

UPDATE: My friend John Ruberry, Marathon Pundit links with remarks. Chicago News Bench links as well. If I ever write a book (of my own), I will love Tom Mannis to do a blurb for the jacket.

UPDATE: Jack Cashill, who first fleshed out the theory that Ayers ghostwrote Obama's book, on the new unofficial bio of Barack and Michelle, at the end of September:
In his new book, "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage," Best-selling celebrity journalist, Christopher Andersen, has blown a huge hole in the Obama genius myth without intending to do so.

Relying on inside sources, quite possibly Michelle Obama herself, Andersen describes how Dreams came to be published -- just as I had envisioned it in my articles on the authorship of Dreams. With the deadline pressing, Michelle recommended that Barack seek advice from "his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers."
Read it all. Cashill's site here.

Lookie at libelblogger Charles Johnson going to defend Obama's allege ghost writer. But he's oh so obsessed of trying to link Sarah Palin to an allege ghost writer whom has allege ties with white supremacists. Even though why would white supremacists want to deal with someone whom is staunchly pro-Israel?

Could the libelblogger explain that? But hey, I guess some ghost writers seem to be more equal than others.

I actually don't care if he is the author.

Long ago we, here, accepted they are buds and share a similar philosophical set, a view REJECTED (as 'it can't be true !'?) by at least 53% of the people.

Even if they were proven to be close, those same 53% would have to defend their vote decision. The problem there was an inept republican campaign as to what that means (which was, Van Jones, Mark LLoyd, Cass Sunnstein, Samantha Powers et al, etc)

His position in the education system of the nation where he has been for YEARS is a far more serious matter, where he affects syllabuses, teacher types, books selected and influences NATIONAL DECISIONS about where and how federal aid goes, and what and how our young people learn.

Ayer's relationship with Obama merely enhances that already respected position.

If anything Obama's election should have taught us to look a few layers down

Mah29001,

You gotta be friggin' kidding me? That's CJ's bent these days?

I ought to start reading that blog again just for shits and giggles.

Epa,
Your point is well-taken. I pondered whether it was even worth posting this. First off, we have no idea whether Ayers was kidding, the blogger is telling the truth, or anything.

That's why I titled it with a question mark.

I just thought it was interesting.

I lean towards thinking this is Ayers attempting to make us look like a bunch of idiots again, but for some reason, I'm walking right into his trap.

Are there not methods of analyzing writing styles that could determine whether Ayers was the author of DFMF? If Obama sent him a partial manuscript the styles might have been mixed, but a professional writer's style should still be detectable if he contributed a major portion of the book.

Is the authorship of "Audacity of Hope" in doubt? If that one is authentically Obama's, is should be possible to detect any major discrepancies in writing style.

Here you go:

Oh Pasto, I think this could be true, but this is the same point the populace rejected as a reason to vote against Obama (not FOR McCain).

I don't understand why comprehension of this reality has so little traction among most Americans, I only know it doesn't matter to too many.

Are there so many who simply don't remember J Carter and what that was like, or weren't here?

High unemployment and high inflation, inability to bring about any plan, domestic or foreign, foreign disregard of America as a serious member grounded in the real world, catastrophic security developments springing from domestic views which bring generational cataclysm to both American security operations (Church Commission) and the world scene (Iran AND Afghanistan).

Ayers et al are pushing education and HAVE DONE SO FOR MANY YEARS which reinforces the domestic views which bring this about.

Obama is a product of this manufacturing process.

Well pasto I just followed your advice and indeed, not only has LGF's personal consumptive need to be right pushed him to linking Palin to white supremacists (what does he make of Goldwater's opposition to the 1965 voter rights act, one wonders), he also is quoting a totally off the wall left wing group who claims to know that advertisers are dropping Glenn Beck, and who they are, and when they do it.

He is likening Global warming DOUBTERS and QUESTIONERS to Deniers.

Along with another gratuitous attack on Bob Spencer, who he claims long ago became a loonie muslim hater. Probably at the moment he questioned WTF is going on over there on the left coast.

But I have a question... WTF IS GOING ON OVER THERE ON THE LEFT COAST?

Maybe it's a new woman friend.

LOST LOST LOST

Epa,
Hell if I know. I don't get it.

It seems like a dip into insanity, but it could be that he just became completely disillusioned and angry a la Andrew Sullivan.

epa he's also attacking the crediblity of the blogger who said ayers is the author of the beta presidents book!

I cannot beleive any reasonable person left on lgf doesnt see the oddness in his going after sarah palin non office holder several month after the election, but is trying to ridicule the notion of a ghost writer for obamas book which is a much more important scenerio since he IS the president, and ayers IS an unrepentant terrorist.
