New poll finds 61% of Americans would support military action to stop Iran from getting the bomb
On October 6, 1973, Israel was hit by a massive and devastating surprise attack on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism. The warning signs that Israel’s enemies were gearing up to deal the Jewish State a death blow were there. Her leaders simply didn’t properly assess, interpret and respond to them. By God’s grace, Israel was saved from the brink of utter ruination. But it was close, and painful.
Thirty-six years later, Israel is once again in grave danger. By Iran’s nuclear threat, to be sure. But Israel is actually in danger of being blindsided by two new threats.
The first threat is the real and growing possibility that the United Nations will shift the nuclear spotlight away from Iran and on to Israel in an effort to force Jerusalem to disclose and dismantle its alleged nuclear weapons and join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Israel does not openly acknowledge having atomic weapons. But the U.N. Security Council could pass a resolution forcing Israel to allow international inspectors in. If Israel refused to comply, she could be subject to diplomatic isolation, crippling economic sanctions, and even international enforcement (that is, a coalition of nations ready to go to war over the issue, just as the U.S. led a coalition in 2003 to force Iraq to comply with U.N. resolutions regarding weapons of mass destruction.)
This is a scenario I’ve been warning about for years, including in my 2005 political thriller, The Ezekiel Option. But this is no longer fiction. IAEA chief Mohammed ElBaradei publicly raised this as a serious possibility yesterday, saying, “Israel is the number one threat to the Middle East given the nuclear arms it possesses.”
The Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens also has a must-read column in today’s paper explaining how this scenario could come to pass in the not-too-distant future. Keep in mind: President Obama is making global nuclear disarmament his top foreign policy priority. He chaired a U.N. Security Council meeting last week to push this agenda. It is increasingly conceivable that he will try to force Israel to “play by the same rules” as everyone else and disarm unilaterally, even though Israel has never threatened to “annihilate” a neighbor. As I imagine in The Ezekiel Option, such a resolution against Israel could be introduced into the U.N. by Russia. The coalition against Israel could be led by Russia and Iran. Should this happen, we could begin to see the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39 come to pass in fairly short order. While it is too early to conclude that is what is happening now, it is not too early to intensify our prayers for the peace of Jerusalem, according to Psalm 122:6.
Yes, wouldn't it be weird?
By the way, check out what it says - in the Book of Revelation - about how the people who do not follow the anti-Christ will be murdered:
And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands.

pastorious wouldnt it be a real hoot, a regular ironical siteeation///// if the mark of the beast on the forehead wasnt a number but bruise from whacken yer head against a prayer rug three times a day.....
That would be funny/ironic.
However, it does say "hand or forehead".
Not only that it says that the people who do take the "mark" will end up forming sores on their skin which will in many cases KILL them.
Cancer?
mmmmmm,
I must admit I do not focus on revelations I will take your word for it.
im catholic mostly sermons in mass focus more on either being more christlike and hearing a broader explanation of some parable or another from christ.
I actually cannot recall ever hearing a sermon during mass where revelations was the center.....
ive read it but myself but found it about as confusing as a drug induced experience...
on another thread you said talked about a mezuza, that sounds like a great idea to me. would any of the jewish posters here think it was inapropriate for me a catholic to buy one and put it on my door?
Rumcrook,
I'm not Jewish and I have a Mezuzah on my door, because I believe in the same Bible Jews do, and it says to put the word of God on your doorstep:
"Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the LORD swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth."
You said: ... sermons in mass focus more on either being more christlike and hearing a broader explanation of some parable or another from christ...
I say: That's much more important than prophecy in my opinion.
That's why I don't bring up prophecy that often.
Besides, this is not supposed to be a Christian blog anyway.
I think I will get one then.
side note, I think someone should work on a giant poster made up of pictures of islamists with black hoods over thier faces holding rifles or shooting burqua clad women or stoning them all put together in a mosaic making up a larger picture of the dueche bag above with a hood holding an AK and a koran. with big bold letters at the top saying religion of peace.
I have a hard time taking anything literally, but the day the UN security council passes a resolution which purports to force the Israelis to anything with regard to their own arsenal will be the same day an earthquake of realization hits the political scene here and there.
WE'RE NEXT.
Ironically that would make Walt and Mearsheimer's ideas into a self fulfilling prophecy.
Regional war with WMD, all out. Perhaps a slightly better world out the other end.
More dead than in WW2 in less than a week. Another 10-15 million in a year.
You think that's what the result of a UN demand to monitor Israel's nuke arsenal would be?
Rumcrook,
That's a good idea. I wish I was an artist.
You can't have a regional war with nuclear WMD - as soon as one is used we're all in a total war situation due to the very nature of the weapon and tactics used for its deployment. I would imagine a lot of governments around the globe at the moment have the best game theorist they can afford on their payroll!
I wouldn't be surprised if they want Iran to get nukes to justify some large scale intervention in the Middle East to balance out the Saudi influence.
Just Cause,
What do you mean you can't have a regional nuclear war?
Hey, maybe you know more than I, but as far as I know there are only five nations on Earth who have ICBM's;
USA, Russia, China, the UK, and France.
None of these countries are going to dare go to war against each other.
In fact this whole ME thing is a proxy war between the USA and the West vs. China and Russia, or at least that's my opinion.
