Shine a Light Tonight!
In about 30 minutes here in the Northeast it will be 8:30 pm, the start of this time zone's participation in Earth Hour, or, reject technology and sit in the dark for the good of the Planet. Play dead for an hour and say no to global warming. Show solidarity with the United Nations as they switch their lights off (and make themselves a hazaard to air traffic, one assumes). Join your Obamabot neighbors as they turn of their 50 inch plasma tvs and sit reading Audacity of Hope aloud to each other by candlelight. If you must drive, do it with your headlights off. Maybe you can contribute to lightening the population burden of Mother Earth. And besides, it's good practice for coping with the results Obamassiah's cap and trade plan.
Well, bugger that for a lark says I.
At 8:30 sharp every light in my home is getting switched on, including the porch light, which I will need because I'm out the door and headed for various points around our fair town where I will sit with my high beams on until I make a point or the cops catch me, whichever comes first.
Besides blasphemy, Halla-aho was "ordered to stand trial for publishing on his blog that Islam's prophet was a pedophile." Here again we encounter the Orwellian, or perhaps more precisely Alice-In-Wonderland, Through-the-Looking-Glass quality of today's public discourse. The collection of traditions of Muhammad that Muslims consider most reliable, Sahih Bukhari, affirms in no less than five places that Aisha was six when Muhammad took her and nine when he consummated the marriage (vol. 5, bk. 58, no. 234; vol. 5 bk. 58 no. 236; vol. 7 bk. 62 no. 64; vol. 7 bk. 62 no. 65; and vol. 7 bk. 62 no. 88). It is also in Sunan Abu Dawud (bk. 41 no. 4915), another of the Sahih Sittah, the six hadith collections Muslims accept as most reliable.
The concept of pedophilia did not exist in Muhammad's day. His marriage to Aisha was not unusual in the context of the time; but it becomes extremely problematic, and conducive to pedophilia, when Muhammad is held up as the "excellent example of conduct" (Qur'an 33:21) for all time, and followed in this in our own day. And child marriage is indeed common in some areas of the Islamic world -- notably Afghanistan, but it is by no means limited to Afghanistan only.
In any case, in light of all that, Halla-aho was saying something perfectly reasonable. I hope he will be able to bring some of this evidence in his own defense.
Free Speech Death Watch Update: "Free Speech Slammed in Finland as Politician is Brought up on Blasphemy Charges.......," from Tundra Tabloids, March 27:
Jussi Halla-aho to stand trial for blasphemy against Allah
Believe it or not, Finland still has blasphemy laws on the books, but there have been repeated attempts to rescind Section 10 of chapter 17 of the Finnish penal code. All attempts however, at removing the anti-modern statute from the law books have proved unsuccessful, with the latest attempt failing in 1998.
Helsinki city councilman, Jussi Halla-aho was charged with blasphemy and incitement of an ethnic-group in the Helsinki district court today, and ordered to stand trial for publishing on his blog that Islam's prophet was a pedophile. According to the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Jorme Kalske:
"Halla-aho had uploaded to the Internet and submitted writings to the general public, in which Islam and its sacred institutions were combined with pedophilia, and in which was also presented the robbery of pedestrians and the ooting of tax revenue was a certain national group or a specific genetic characteristic.
The charges were presented in the Helsinki District Court. Halla-aho denies the charges"
Beverly Person (Band of Mothers) has been keeping me up to date on the campaign against Bill Ayers. Today it's about Naperville High School's invitation to this terrorist nutcase to speak at an assembly of their students.
NAPERVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT 203 Message sent - 3/27/2009 Statement regarding proposed Ayers visit to NNHS
We have received numerous emails and phone calls regarding the proposed visit of UIC professor Dr. Bill Ayers to speak with Naperville North High School students next month, with permission from their parents.
While we firmly believe in exposing students to a wide variety of speakers and opinions, offering them the chance to experience different viewpoints and the opportunity to hone their critical thinking skills (one of the tenants of our mission), please know that we would never invite anyone who advocates violence. Our understanding is that Bill Ayers does not, although this point is being actively debated by several who have contacted us. In addition, administrators from other school districts who have heard his presentation to students, have indicated that Ayers focuses on students being involved in social justice.
Given the interest this has stirred in the community, and the strong emotion and anger that is being expressed, we are currently reviewing this decision and are also exploring options for changing the venue. For those who have expressed concern over funding this, it should be noted that Dr. Ayers was never being paid for this visit.
Once a decision has been made, we plan to update parents of Naperville North students on this issue via Talk203.
Alan Leis, Superintendent of Schools Naperville School District 203
It is our responsibility and duty to hound-dog treasonous ingrates like Bill Ayers - to their graves.
An excellent idea. If you prefer to email rather than call, as I do, click here to see how to email all of the members of the Naperville Board of Education.
If you wish to email the principal of Naperville North High School, click here, and look for the name of the principal, Ross Truemper. Ayers is scheduled to speak at Naperville North High School, not Naperville Central High School, so don't click William Wiesbrook's name.
We cannot sit by and hope things will change, that they will suddenly reverse course and not go down the road they are.
The media by and large is not going to cover smaller demonstrations for reasons Epa lists. So we need to make any and all demonstrations already int the works as massive as possible so they cannot be ignored.
Got a tea partygoing on in your state or hometown? -- get there if you can at all. 10th Amendmentrally? --get there. Gun owner? -- then you damn well ought to support the NRA.
Talk it up where you work, live, recreate. IT IS YOUR RIGHT PROTECTED -- NOT GRANTED IT'S ALREADY YOURS-- PROTECTED BY THE FIRST AMENDMENT.
Writing your Congressmen, Sanators at all levels of gov't, your newspapers all well and good and should be done. INCLUDE TEA BAGS IN YOUR LETTERS. BUT WE MUST ALSO GATHER ENMASSE AND SHOW THEM WE ARE NOT A SMALL MINORITY.
It may come to Civil Disobedience. Marching, assembling, without the proper "permits", the proper "papers". So be it.
We are a free country but we risk losing it all to nanny-state-ism or worse.
WE HAVE BEEN POLITE TOO LONG. WE NEED TO GET IN THEIR FACES SO WE CAN'T BE IGNORED
And make sure we create a shortage of tar, feathers, rails, pitchforks, torches.
233 years ago they pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to bring you the freedoms at risk today.
Everyone reading this has probably heard about the National Service Act that has just been passed, and which Obama will undoubtedly sign. In the U.S. Senate, only fourteen senators (all Republicans) voted against this Obamanation and for the Constitution. Two of those fourteen were both senators from Kansas, Roberts and Brownback.
Unfortunately, there is trouble in paradise. As most readers are also aware, New Orleans has been designated the National Sacrifice Sump (NSS). This spring break was no exception as college students descended upon the Big Easy in order to "help." Included in this year's contingent were some undergrads from the University of Kansas:
Iliff was among seven members of KU’s Engineers Without Borders chapter who worked with the Historic Green organization to help rebuild the Lower Ninth Ward in a way to preserve its history while creating a sustainable future.
“In reality, I was paying for the experience of doing something greater than yourself,” Iliff said. “It’s not just about sustainability, and it’s not just about being green. It’s also about virtue.”
Virtue is the action one takes in order to acquire values. The definition for the same term according to altruists makes virtue an action that - allegedly - does not benefit the actor. This means any action that is not in the interest of the actor is moral. One obvious problem with this definitional switch is that it puts to focus exclusively on intentions not results. It also demands that individuals turn themselves into mindless servants of whoever claims to be the recipient of human sacrifice.
As Thomas Jefferson wrote to James Monroe on 20 May 1782:
...It were contrary to feeling and indeed ridiculous to suppose a man had less right to himself than one of his neighbors or all of them put together. This would be slavery and not that liberty which the bill of rights has made inviolable and for the preservation of which our goverment has been changed. Nothing could so completely divest us of that liberty as the establishment of the opinion that the state has a PERPETUAL right to the services of all it's members. This to men of certain ways of thinking would be to annihilate the blessing of existence; to contradict the giver of life who gave it for happiness and not for wretchedness, and certainly to such it were better that they had never been born.
These gullible, young students are being turned into beings who will "annihilate the blessing of existence." They have been trained to believe that sacrifice of their interests is the good. It won't be long before the Obama Green Shirt Youth Corps will show up to demand payment.
Democrats Call For Tomahawk Strike Against North Korean Launchpad President Clinton's former Secretary of Defense William Perry and Assistant Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter have called on the President to take pre-emptive action against North Korea's ballistic missile while it's still on the launchpad (MUST READ op-ed):
If Necessary, Strike and Destroy
North Korea Cannot Be Allowed to Test This Missile
North Korean technicians are reportedly in the final stages of fueling a long-range ballistic missile that some experts estimate can deliver a deadly payload to the United States. The last time North Korea tested such a missile, in 1998, it sent a shock wave around the world, but especially to the United States and Japan, both of which North Korea regards as archenemies. They recognized immediately that a missile of this type makes no sense as a weapon unless it is intended for delivery of a nuclear warhead.
A year later North Korea agreed to a moratorium on further launches, which it upheld -- until now. But there is a critical difference between now and 1998. Today North Korea openly boasts of its nuclear deterrent, has obtained six to eight bombs' worth of plutonium since 2003 and is plunging ahead to make more in its Yongbyon reactor. The six-party talks aimed at containing North Korea's weapons of mass destruction have collapsed.
Should the United States allow a country openly hostile to it and armed with nuclear weapons to perfect an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of delivering nuclear weapons to U.S. soil? We believe not. The Bush administration has unwisely ballyhooed the doctrine of "preemption," which all previous presidents have sustained as an option rather than a dogma. It has applied the doctrine to Iraq, where the intelligence pointed to a threat from weapons of mass destruction that was much smaller than the risk North Korea poses. (The actual threat from Saddam Hussein was, we now know, even smaller than believed at the time of the invasion.) But intervening before mortal threats to U.S. security can develop is surely a prudent policy.
After describing the type of airstrike or cruise missile attack we should employ, the two former Defense officials conclude --- STRIKE NOW:
This is a hard measure for [the President] to take. It undoubtedly carries risk. But the risk of continuing inaction in the face of North Korea's race to threaten this country would be greater. Creative diplomacy might have avoided the need to choose between these two unattractive alternatives. Indeed, in earlier years the two of us were directly involved in negotiations with North Korea, coupled with military planning, to prevent just such an outcome. We believe diplomacy might have precluded the current situation. But diplomacy has failed, and we cannot sit by and let this deadly threat mature. A successful Taepodong launch, unopposed by the United States, its intended victim, would only embolden North Korea even further. The result would be more nuclear warheads atop more and more missiles.
Forgive me -- I did not include the link to their Washington Post op-ed at the top like I usually do. Here it is.
What's that? This is not from today's WashPost? Hrm. Please re-read the whole thing and tell me: what exactly has changed? Oh, only One thing.
Obama to vote PRESENT on NorK Taepodong-2 and let Japan shoot it down?
TOKYO -- Japan's move Friday to deploy missile interceptors is the boldest challenge North Korea faces so far to its plan to launch a rocket in the next few days.
Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said he ordered the deployment of missile interceptors to Japan's northern coast to prepare to shoot down the rocket and any debris that could fall on Japanese territory. It was the first such order Japan had issued, a ministry spokesman said.
North Korea said it will launch a rocket carrying a satellite between April 4 and April 8, and warned that fragments could fall into the Sea of Japan between the two countries as well as southeast of Japan in the Pacific Ocean.
Japan and its allies suspect the rocket is a new long-range missile, and have demanded that Pyongyang cancel the plan. A launch would violate United Nations Security Council sanctions imposed in 2006 after North Korea tested a long-range missile.
Any action Japan takes would be restricted to shooting at material that threatens to fall on Japanese land or sea. Nevertheless, the move is a bold one for Japan, which has a pacifist constitution that strictly restricts its military to measures of national defense.
Japan is particularly worried about North Korea because of its proximity to the rogue nation. After Pyongyang's launches in recent years, Tokyo imposed sanctions on North Korea and pushed the U.N. Security Council to enact further sanctions. At the time, Japan didn't have the missile-defense capabilities it has today.
If it's a danger, just have an Aegis cruiser take it out.
Otherwise it's all just BREAD AND CIRCUS, violence and wonder for the plebs, eh?
A few years ago at a lecture I attended, Mahdi Obeidi, author of The Bomb In My Garden, warned that our southern border with Mexico was the most possible avenue of bringing weapons of mass destruction into the United States.
Apparently, if this report from the Washington Times is accurate, Hezbollah is already active along our southern border:
EXCLUSIVE: Hezbollah uses Mexican drug routes into U.S.
Hezbollah is using the same southern narcotics routes that Mexican drug kingpins do to smuggle drugs and people into the United States, reaping money to finance its operations and threatening U.S. national security, current and former U.S. law enforcement, defense and counterterrorism officials say.
The Iran-backed Lebanese group has long been involved in narcotics and human trafficking in South America's tri-border region of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Increasingly, however, it is relying on Mexican narcotics syndicates that control access to transit routes into the U.S.
Hezbollah relies on "the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartels," said Michael Braun, who just retired as assistant administrator and chief of operations at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
"They work together," said Mr. Braun. "They rely on the same shadow facilitators. One way or another, they are all connected.
"They'll leverage those relationships to their benefit, to smuggle contraband and humans into the U.S.; in fact, they already are [smuggling]."
His comments were confirmed by six U.S. officials, including law enforcement, defense and counterterrorism specialists. They spoke on the condition that they not be named because of the sensitivity of the topic.
While Hezbollah appears to view the U.S. primarily as a source of cash - and there have been no confirmed Hezbollah attacks within the U.S. - the group's growing ties with Mexican drug cartels are particularly worrisome at a time when a war against and among Mexican narco-traffickers has killed 7,000 people in the past year and is destabilizing Mexico along the U.S. border.
... To finance its operations, [Hezbollah] relies in part on funding from a large Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim diaspora that stretches from the Middle East to Africa and Latin America. Some of the funding comes from criminal enterprises.
Although there have been no confirmed cases of Hezbollah moving terrorists across the Mexico border to carry out attacks in the United States, Hezbollah members and supporters have entered the country this way.
Last year, Salim Boughader Mucharrafille was sentenced to 60 years in prison by Mexican authorities on charges of organized crime and immigrant smuggling. Mucharrafille, a Mexican of Lebanese descent, owned a cafe in the city of Tijuana, across the border from San Diego. He was arrested in 2002 for smuggling 200 people, said to include Hezbollah supporters, into the U.S.
In 2001, Mahmoud Youssef Kourani crossed the border from Mexico in a car and traveled to Dearborn, Mich. Kourani was later charged with and convicted of providing "material support and resources ... to Hezbollah," according to a 2003 indictment.
A U.S. official with knowledge of U.S. law enforcement operations in Latin America said, "we noted the same trends as Mr. Braun" and that Hezbollah has used Mexican transit routes to smuggle contraband and people into the U.S.
Two U.S. law enforcement officers, familiar with counterterrorism operations in the U.S. and Latin America, said that "it was no surprise" that Hezbollah members have entered the U.S. border through drug cartel transit routes.
A senior U.S. defense official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of ongoing operations in Latin America, warned that al Qaeda also could use trafficking routes to infiltrate operatives into the U.S.
Adm. James G. Stavridis, commander of U.S. Southern Command and the nominee to head NATO troops as Supreme Allied Commander-Europe, testified before the House Armed Services Committee last week that the nexus between illicit drug trafficking - "including routes, profits, and corruptive influence" and "Islamic radical terrorism" is a growing threat to the U.S....
Is it inevitable that our southern border will be the route by which comes into America the method for carrying out a mass attack? A lot of experts and quasi-experts believe so.
At the moment, we have Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and First Alert blaming respectively United States' drug policies and Mexican President Felipe Calderon's crackdowns on the drug cartels for the present lawlessness along our southern border and in our southern-border states. We do not see much concern from them about terrorist infiltration as part of or an adjunct of the Mexican drug cartels.
Until the unthinkable happens, we "town criers" sound like paranoid nutjobs.
When the unthinkable happens, our so-called elected representatives will come up with something probably called The Domestic Contingency Plan or The Plan To Contend With The Tiny Minority Of Extremists.
At what point will our leaders recognize the Islamic threat? Are they capable of doing so?
Today American Thinker jumps on something which, with the media, even Fox (Glenn Beck excepted on TV, and single interview of Jim DeMint on Brian and the Judge on XM/Sirius) missing HR 1388 as a potentially MAGNETIC indicator of who Barack Obama REALLY is, started bothering me about midweek.
It is true that since Sept 15th (Lehman Bros failure ..or allowed non bailed collapse) the speed with which critical events domestic and foreign have occurred in both a chain and at random (to us) has continued to accelerate.
We know the list...take a breath and say it with me...Washington Mutual, AIG, Citi, JP Morgan, retreats, jets, GM, Chrysler, cabinet picks, cabinet tax problems, inauguration, cabinet picks, cabinet tax problems, the dollar, immense spending and invention of cash, cabinet picks, cabinet tax problems, Norks and missiles and nukes, China's navy chasing off the US, Russia announces rearming, Iran and Venezuela become OFFICIAL ass hole buddies, Sandinista revivals, ex CNN reporter, a communist wins in another central american election, unions and card check, Obama power grabs, attacks on those who speak out ANYWHERE to Obama's right (have you checked out Moveon blasting CNBC?), farting around the edges of Fairness Doctrine, Iranian determination for nuclear weapons, Israel takes out Gaza, Freeman, jews, AIG, cabinet picks, cabinet tax problems, Iraq looks better, Afghanistan looks way worse, Pakistan gives up SWAT and NW Territories, Sharia rules there unopposed, Obama reaches out in knee pad dhimmitude to Abbas, Al Arabiya and the mullahs, he insults our oldest ally, pressures our ONLY real mid east ally, is frozen over Russia, Venezuela and China, scoffs at Britain as special, writes under questionable judgment to an older (progressive) leader of France, borrows so much money our T Bill sales fall short, incurs PUBLIC doubt about America's credit from those in the world who hold the most T-bills, demonstrating for all our limited sovereign imperative, stays with cabinet picks, cabinet tax problems, more AIG, Obama's 1st judge pick turns out to be an ACORN fundraiser, fake bonus fury by a congress which inspires a mob reaction to no purpose, Sec Treas who cannot present his case to anyone anywhere effectively, and cannot descibe where in the Constitution he derives authority for what he wants (because it's not there) and finally just barely misses with HR 1388 creating what in the wrong hands would be a polite SA, but with the same intimidating effect,.........
All painting a picture of someone bambi like in protecting us from overseas danger, and is a danger to the republic himself within our borders out of his determination to remake this nation into one without risk at the bottom end by removing any top end. Spread it around ... BY LAW, MANDATORY. Step out of line and we 'examine' your work. You'll be Geithnerized. Thorazine nation. Mild salsa in case it might be too hot for some. All in the public interest, you see. 'We're doing the good thing, those who resist are saying no to progress and social justice, and perhaps we'll publish you address if things get tight'
It is ILLIBERAL. Why is this not yet clear?
Obama is probably depending upon the slowness of the people to react in time to stop him. This is both practical and FAR MORE DISGUSTING than any attitude or incompetence of Mr. Bush who more and more appears in his worst moment BENIGN by comparison domestically. In fact what I see is that so much like the Islamic radicals, the democrats spent 8 years attacking Mr. Bush out of projection .. they accused him of what they knew they would do if in power.
And they are attempting it.
But these words, these leaflets of today, these objections, discussions, accusations, over the top or measured all appear at the speed of light.
Yesterday, out of the blue, a client who runs a print shop with whom I had never had a discussion involving politics asked me when we were going to have a tea party in xxxxx. The discussion veered to the free speech, Jefferson and the 2nd Amendment.
I'm not sure we represent a majority. But neither did Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, the Adamses, Hancock, Washington, Henry, Paine, or any of the others. There are just some people who will not renounce those ideas, at all. We can't. It's not matter of choice. No matter what Property is freedom. Property is MINE. It's too late Mr. Obama.
I have been saying all along, Obama would fill the White House with Muslims.
Well, he has begun.
From Winds of Jihad Prez Hopenchange seeks Muslims for the White House by sheikyermami on March 27, 2009 * “It was mostly under the radar”- because before you couldn’t call him Hussein. Now he’s coming out:
Obama gets list of top Muslim Americans CHICAGO — In a bid to get more Muslim Americans working in the Obama administration, a book with resumes of 45 of the nation’s most qualified — Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives and public servants, all carefully vetted [where have we heard that before]— has been submitted to the White House. The effort, driven by community leaders and others, including U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., was bumped up two weeks because White House officials heard about the venture, said J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, who sifted through more than 300 names. “It was mostly under the radar,” Williams said. “We thought it would put (the president) in a precarious position. We didn’t know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community.” Why not chose from among the Gitmo apes?
Ronnie giving his mules a helluva workout. In the tribute Rolling Stone published when Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crashed and decimated the band the author, who had traveled with the band at some length, relates the story of when Ed King left Skynyrd and Ronnie Van Zant was interviewing Leslie West of Mountain fame to be the third guitarist. At some point Van Zant draws West out to ask the question "Why can't a Yankee play in a Southern Band?" The author states Ronnie flashed that gotcha grin and, drawing deep from a bottle of Jack Daniels, says "Because only those who have had their feet in the fire the longest are the hottest". West pulls his Coke a bit closer.
Ronnie Van Zant was known to often perform barefooted. When asked about it he said "because I like to feel that stage burn." The man must have had callouses as thick and hard as horseshoes.
"...a cow which defecates in the middle of the road, (we) cannot take legal action against it because it has no brain and cannot think," said Nik Aziz who is the spiritual leader of the country's Pan-Islamic Party (PAS).
"But human beings, who have brains, for them to do something which is wrong in religion ... when they are in an attire which symbolizes Islam, they can be regarded as being more despicable than cows," he said on Friday, according to Malaysia's state news agency Bernama.
PAS is one of the three parties in Malaysia's opposition alliance led by former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Nik Aziz said that smoking was forbidden by Islam.
Recently, Indonesia's top Islamic body passed a fatwa or ruling banning smoking. Malaysia's top Islamic body has also banned smoking.
Despite the ban in Malaysia, where over half the population of 27 million is Muslim, 50 percent of the male population smokes according to World Health Organization (WHO) data.
President Barack Obama's intelligence chief confirmed Thursday that some Guantanamo inmates may be released on US soil and receive assistance to return to society.
"If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life,"(guess who's footin' that bill, folks -- mr) said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.
"You can't just put them on the street," he added. "All that is work in progress."
Obama has vowed to close the controversial prison camp by next January and has ordered individual reviews for cases against each of the over 240 remaining prisoners.
Blair told reporters that the review of Guantanamo cases was still underway, and that the government was "building dossiers on each of the detainees."
The Obama administration is currently evaluating what could be done with the prisoners, he said, but pledged that if they are sent to another country,"we have to be sure that that country will treat them in a humane fashion." (you're kidding me, right? April 1 is next week. . .)
Twenty men detained at the remote US naval base at Guantanamo Bay in southern Cuba have been cleared of terrorism charges, including 17 Chinese Uighurs ordered released by a US court in June, seven years after their arrest. But the US says they may face persecution if returned to China.
In an executive order signed days after he took office in January, Obama also promised to uphold the Geneva Conventions for the remaining prisoners until the detention center is closed.
Blair touched on the controversial interrogation techniques used on terror suspects under the administration of president George W. Bush, saying that those methods -- including waterboarding, or simulated drowning -- would not be used under his tenure.
But Blair, a retired US admiral, added that his team was examining other "enhanced interrogation techniques" for high-value detainees that comply with international conventions on prisoners of war.
He did not elaborate on what methods would be used, but said such interrogations should be carried out by "government employees; they shouldn't be contractors; they should be highly trained, very supervised."
Now THIS is damned interesting. Found it over at Gunslinger's. Oath-Keepers are active duty military of all types who recognize they swore an oath to The Constitution, to protect and defend it against all enemies foreign or domestic, not any individual, and are reaffirming openly they will defy illegal orders such as gun confiscation, warrentless searches etc.
"The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army" - Gen. George Washington, to his troops before the battle of Long Island
Such a time is near at hand again. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this Army - and this Marine Corps, This Air Force, This Navy and the National Guard units of these sovereign states.
Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic … and meant it.
Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and that oath will be kept. We won’t “just follow orders.
"Below is our declaration of orders we will NOT obey because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic.
Declaration of Orders We Will NOT Obey
Recognizing that we each swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and affirming that we are guardians of the Republic, of the principles in our Declaration of Independence, and of the rights of our people, we affirm and declare the following:
1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.
The attempt to disarm the people on April 19, 1775 was the spark of open conflict in the American Revolution. That vile attempt was an act of war, and the American people fought back in justified, righteous self-defense of their natural rights. Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order.
Nor will we assist, or support any such attempt to disarm the people by other government entities, either state or federal.
In addition, we affirm that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military power of the people so that they will, in the last resort, have effective final recourse to arms and to the God of Hosts in the face of tyranny. Accordingly, we oppose any and all further infringements on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. In particular we oppose a renewal of the misnamed “assault-weapons” ban or the enactment of H.R. 45 (which would register and track gun owners like convicted pedophiles).
2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects - such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the use of warrantless searches known as “writs of assistance” and the first fiery embers of American resistance were born in opposition to those infamous writs. The Founders considered all warrantless searches to be unreasonable and egregious. It was to prevent a repeat of such violations of the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects that the Fourth Amendment was written.
We expect that warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.
3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the denial of the right to jury trial, the use of admiralty courts (military tribunals) instead, and the application of the laws of war to the colonists. After that experience, and being well aware of the infamous Star Chamber in English history, the Founders ensured that the international laws of war would apply only to foreign enemies, not to the American people. Thus, the Article III Treason Clause establishes the only constitutional form of trial for an American, not serving in the military, who is accused of making war on his own nation. Such a trial for treason must be before a civilian jury, not a tribunal.
The international laws of war do not trump our Bill of Rights. We reject as illegitimate any such claimed power, as did the Supreme Court in Ex Parte Milligan (1865). Any attempt to apply the laws of war to American civilians, under any pretext, such as against domestic “militia” groups the government brands “domestic terrorists,” is an act of war and an act of treason.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state’s legislature and governor.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the attempt “to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power” by disbanding the Massachusetts legislature and appointing General Gage as “military governor.” The attempt to disarm the people of Massachusetts during that martial law sparked our Revolution. Accordingly, the power to impose martial law – the absolute rule over the people by a military officer with his will alone being law – is nowhere enumerated in our Constitution.
Further, it is the militia of a state and of the several states that the Constitution contemplates being used in any context, during any emergency within a state, not the standing army.
The imposition of martial law by the national government over a state and its people, treating them as an occupied enemy nation, is an act of war. Such an attempted suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights voids the compact with the states and with the people.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.
In response to the obscene growth of federal power and to the absurdly totalitarian claimed powers of the Executive, upwards of 20 states are considering, have considered, or have passed courageous resolutions affirming states rights and sovereignty.
Those resolutions follow in the honored and revered footsteps of Jefferson and Madison in their Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, and likewise seek to enforce the Constitution by affirming the very same principles of our Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights that we Oath Keepers recognize and affirm.
Chief among those principles is that ours is a dual sovereignty system, with the people of each state retaining all powers not granted to the national government they created, and thus the people of each state reserved to themselves the right to judge when the national government they created has voided the compact between the states by asserting powers never granted.
Upon the declaration by a state that such a breach has occurred, we will not obey orders to force that state to submit to the national government.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the blockade of Boston, and the occupying of that city by the British military, under martial law. Once hostilities began, the people of Boston were tricked into turning in their arms in exchange for safe passage, but were then forbidden to leave. That confinement of the residents of an entire city was an act of war.
Such tactics were repeated by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, and by the Imperial Japanese in Nanking, turning entire cities into death camps. Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be an act of war and thus an act of treason.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
Mass, forced internment into concentration camps was a hallmark of every fascist and communist dictatorship in the 20th Century. Such internment was unfortunately even used against American citizens of Japanese descent during World War II. Whenever a government interns its own people, it treats them like an occupied enemy population. Oppressive governments often use the internment of women and children to break the will of the men fighting for their liberty – as was done to the Boars, to the Jewish resisters in the Warsaw Ghetto, to the Cossacks, and to the Chechens, for example.
Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used. We will not commit treason, nor will we facilitate or support it."NOT on Our Watch!"
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control” during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.
During the American Revolution, the British government enlisted the aid of Hessian mercenaries in an attempt to subjugate the rebellious American people. Throughout history, repressive regimes have enlisted the aid of foreign troops and mercenaries who have no bonds with the people.
Accordingly, as the militia of the several states are the only military force contemplated by the Constitution, in Article I, Section 8, for domestic keeping of the peace, and as the use of even our own standing army for such purposes is without such constitutional support, the use of foreign troops and mercenaries against the people is wildly unconstitutional, egregious, and an act of war.
We will oppose such troops as enemies of the people and we will treat all who request, invite, and aid those foreign troops as the traitors they are.
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the seizure and forfeiture of American ships, goods, and supplies, along with the seizure of American timber for the Royal Navy, all in violation of the people’s natural right to their property and to the fruits of their labor. The final spark of the Revolution was the attempt by the government to seize powder and cannon stores at Concord.
Deprivation of food has long been a weapon of war and oppression, with millions intentionally starved to death by fascist and communist governments in the 20th Century alone.
Accordingly, we will not obey or facilitate orders to confiscate food and other essential supplies from the people, and we will consider all those who issue or carry out such orders to be the enemies of the people.
10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
There would have been no American Revolution without fiery speakers and writers such as James Otis, Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, and Sam Adams “setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”
Tyrants know that the pen of a man such as Thomas Paine can cause them more damage than entire armies, and thus they always seek to suppress the natural rights of speech, association, and assembly. Without freedom of speech, the people will have no recourse but to arms. Without freedom of speech and conscience, there is no freedom.
Therefore, we will not obey or support any orders to suppress or violate the right of the people to speak, associate, worship, assemble, communicate, or petition government for the redress of grievances.
— And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually affirm our oath and pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.Oath Keepers
The above list is not exhaustive but we do consider them to be clear tripwires – they form our “line in the sand,” and if we receive such orders, we will not obey them. Further, we will know that the time for another American Revolution is nigh. If such a revolution comes, at that time, not only will we NOT fire upon our fellow Americans who righteously resist such egregious violations of their God given rights, we will join them in fighting against those who dare attempt to enslave them.
A Norwegian artist was asked to remove his display in Ulefoss. His intention was to promote discussion about the Koran and Islam. But, unfortunately the collection was not well received by the local Muslim community.
At the Telemark county library in Ulefoss, an exhibition was promptly subjected to damage and the library asked the artists to remove it. It is now being shown in Porsgrunn.
The exhibition “Det er ikke forbudt å tenke” (”It’s not forbidden to think”) was assembled at Porsgrunn library yesterday. In a series of 12 graphic images the artist, Ahmed Mashhouri, picked out the most controversial quotes from the Quran.
“My aim is not to insult anybody and their faith. It’s to get a better understanding of the laws found in the Quran. These laws perhaps fit better in the old days, but today they just seem inhuman. I hope that my works will be a wake-up for my dear coreligionists,” he says.
Mashhouri and his wife worked for human rights in Iran. They sought asylum in Norway and now live in Skien. The images were prepared in Norway and translated to Norwegian from Persian and English.
“In discussions people love to hear that such thing aren’t found in the Quran. We want to show that they actually do,” says Mashhouri.
On December 9th, the exhibit was assembled, but not many hours passed before there was a racket and two-three Muslim women attacked his images. Afterward he was contacted by the library and asked to remove the exhibition.
“I was disappointed, because I thought I was came to a country with freedom,” says Mashhouri.
The latest reports of an alleged IAF strike on a Hamas arms convoy in Sudan draw attention to an arms network running from Iran, via the Persian Gulf and Yemen to Sudan, Egypt, and Hamas-ruled Gaza. The existence of this network has been noted by analysts in the past. It forms part of a larger, overt, close relationship maintained by both Iran and Hamas with the regime of Omar al-Bashir in Khartoum.
The bombing of a convoy of trucks that was reportedly carrying weapons bound for the Gaza Strip through Sudan during Operation Cast Lead was carried out by American aircraft, according to Sudanese State Minister for Highways Mabrouk Mubarak Saleem.
Saleem, who spoke to Al Jazeera on Thursday, was quoted by Israel Radio as having said that the death toll in the bombing was much higher than initial reports, and stood at 800 people. He also claimed that the trucks were filled with people, and did not contain weapons.
According to a CBS News report, 39 people were killed when IAF warplanes bombed the convoy and all 17 trucks were destroyed.
In what could be interpreted as a veiled threat to Iran and a hint at an alleged far-reaching IAF air strike on a convoy of weapons bound for the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday asserted that "Israel has never had stronger deterrence than it has gained in the last few years. Those who need to know are aware that there is no place that Israel can't reach."

I HAVE PREVIOUSLY PREDICTED THE NEW MOON OF MAY...
In a move that will likely get California's consumers in a huff, impending legislation may soon restrict the paint color options for Golden State residents looking for their next new vehicle. The specific colors that are currently on the chopping block are all dark hues, with the worst offender seemingly the most innocuous color you could think of: Black. What could California possibly have against these colors, you ask? Apparently, the California Air Resources Board figures that the climate control systems of dark colored cars need to work harder than their lighter siblings – especially after sitting in the sun for a few hours. Anyone living in a hot, sunny climate will tell you that this assumption is accurate, of course. In fact, legislation already exists for buildings that has proven successful at reducing the energy consumption of skyscrapers.
So, what's the crux of the problem... can't paint suppliers just come up with new, less heat-absorbent dark paints? According to Ward's, suppliers have reportedly been testing their pigments and processes to see if it's possible to meet CARB's proposed mandate of 20% solar reflectivity by 2016 with a phase-in period starting in 2012, and things aren't looking good. Apparently, when the proper pigments and chemicals are added to black paint, the resulting color is currently being referred to as "mud-puddle brown." That doesn't sound very attractive, now does it? Windshields, backlights and sunroofs are also slated to get reflective coatings starting in 2012.
When we first heard of this issue, an internal debate immediately began as to whether this might be an elaborate early April Fool's joke, but it isn't. Read through CARB's complete Cool Cars Standards and Test Procedures here (PDF link) for more.

The White House maid service has reported finding a teleprompter bolted to the headboard of the Presidential matrimonial bed in the living quarters of the White House. It had been left on. The words on it were: "Oooh. Aaah. MMMM. Was it good for you?"
True: Many forget that the Middle East was indeed, particularly Egypt and Syria, the "cradle of Christianity" and played a major role in the articulation of Christian theology and the concept of monasticism. So what happened? Basically, what has been happening since day one when Islam burst onto the stage is still happening today: Christians are being persecuted to the point that they either emigrate, convert, or live in oppression. Hence why the Middle East "risks ending up without Christians."
"Vatican: Officials express 'concern' for Christians in Gaza," from Adnkronos, March 26:
Vatican City, 25 March (AKI) - The Vatican on Wednesday expressed "profound concern" about the position of Christians in the Middle East after the recent conflict in the Gaza Strip. In a statement, the Vatican said two of its senior officials, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri and Archbishop Antonio Maria Veglio sent a letter to bishops around the world, asking them to contribute to a collection for the Holy Land, which includes Israel and the Palestinian territories.
In the letter, the two officials expressed the church's "profound concern" for the position of Christians, particularly following the conflict in Gaza.
They also stressed how Pope Benedict XVI "constantly comforts Christians, and all the inhabitants of the Holy Land, with special words and gestures, coupled with his desire to make a pilgrimage in the historical footsteps of Jesus".
"The wounds opened by violence make the problem of emigration more acute, inexorably depriving the Christian minority of its best resources for the future," the letter said.
"The land that was the cradle of Christianity risks ending up without Christians"...
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.
“I’m quite confident that we’re going to rebel against this abusive government’
I think that we’re in a period today comparable to the American founding period in two senses: one, we’re worried about decay — we’re worried about whether we’re squandering our legacy and whether we’re calling into question whether people can really govern themselves — but also because, and this is the heartening part of this, today as never before in my lifetime, Americans have rekindled their interest in the founding era and the founding principles. Look at the wonderful sales of biographies of the founders: Washington, Hamilton, Jefferson, Madison. Look at the Tea Party, which I think frankly is one of the great events of my lifetime.
The American people go through life with a little crick of their necks from looking back at the past, and that’s healthy. We always relate to the Declaration and to the Constitution and here, along comes the Tea Party movement named after something that happened in 1773: the Boston Tea Party. And it’s called us back to reverence for, and understanding of, and insistence upon, the founding principles of limited government. So, in a good sense and a bad sense, I think we’re in the founding period.”

"An Islamic regime must be serious in every field," explained Ayatollah Khomeini. "There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humour in Islam. There is no fun in Islam."
"I want to be very, very clear, however: I understand and agree with the analysis of the problem. There is an imminent threat. It manifested itself on 9/11. It's real and grave. It is as serious a threat as Stalinism and National Socialism were. Let's not pretend it isn't." ~~~~~Bono~~~~~
