And the winner is...

From Verum Serum

Carl Pope: Winner of the RACY

I think we need an award for the most convoluted attempt to interject a ‘Republicans are racist’ smear into a current news story. Because let’s face it, in the age of Obama, we’re getting hit with new ones every week. Some of them are pretty bland, but other are the rhetorical equivalent of a back dive with a full twist into the warm waters of moral superiority. Effort like that deserves recognition.

Case in point. Writing at Huff Post, Carl Pope, Executive Director of the Sierra Club tries to defend Van Jones after the fact. He has this to say about the Van Jones “crack-head” video:

Calling Bush a “crack-head” is seen by a large part of America as worse than calling him “addict-in-chief” because crack is not just a drug — it is a drug used largely by black people. It reminds those Americans who are still uncomfortable with Barack Obama that we have a black president.

Got it? Americans are offended that Van Jones called President Bush a crackhead because it reminds them President Obama is black. You in the pointy hats…ponder its genius.

Mass brawl between right-wing group and anti-fascists as race riots spill onto streets of Birmingham

UPDATE: OOPS! The story I posted from the Daily Mail, which I will leave at the bottom of this post, was actually a story from a month ago.

Here, from the London Times is the story of the clashes in Birmingham just a couple days ago. No photos included. If anyone has photos, please let me know.

It was supposed to be a “peaceful” protest by a group opposed to Islamic law and what it perceives as radical Islam. Or at least that is how the right-wing English Defence League (EDL) would have liked Saturday’s demonstration to be received.

But many had their doubts. Chief among them, the West Midlands Police, which spent the previous fortnight meeting Muslim community leaders to ensure that they told their followers to stay away.

Less than a month earlier, a visit by EDL supporters to the city ended in a feud between them and counter-demonstrators, mainly of Asian backgrounds, and 35 people were arrested.

About 100 EDL supporters descended on Birmingham on Saturday morning, some carrying signs reading “Islamic Extremists Out” and “Make Britain Safe”. Others screamed insults against Allah and Islam as they made their way to the Figure of Eight pub on Broad Street.

They remained “completely well behaved” on the premises, according to Mark Tanner, the pub’s manager. The demonstrators left the pub at approximately 2pm and headed for their allocated protest site at Lancaster Circus.

By that point, The Timesunderstands that police had arrested 21 counter-demonstrators, mainly of Muslim backgrounds, at Waterloo Street and Digbeth High Street.

About 30 or so counter-protesters clashed with EDL supporters as they made their way to Lancaster Circus. They punched and threw bottles before police intervened. About 60 counter-protesters then tried to storm Bennetts Wine Bar where some EDL supporters were being held by police.

“They wore bandanas over their faces and were shouting and screaming,” said Sarah Edwards, a witness. “We were so scared ... It’s shocking to see this in our streets.”

Down on his knees as his attackers' feet fly in, this man's face was left a bloodied mess.

It was just one of the sickening scenes photographed when a riot erupted in a city centre after Right-wing protesters clashed with anti-fascist demonstrators.

Bottles, sticks and banners were thrown as police in riot gear struggled to stop the skirmishes in . In all, 35 people were arrested - mainly for disorder.

Police knew both demonstrations were planned and let them go ahead as a sign of 'a healthy democracy'.

Witness Gary Nichols said: 'It started off with a group of white guys who were chanting, "England, England". I thought they were just football fans, but then a larger group of black and Asian people turned up and it all kicked off. You had people burning the Union flag. People were being kicked, some weren't anything to do with the protests.'

The rival groups had each held peaceful protests at different ends of the city centre before the trouble flared at around 7pm on Saturday.

The Right-wing protesters were from the English and Welsh Defence League, formed after British soldiers were abused by Islamic radicals at a homecoming parade in Luton earlier this year.

Their critics say they include soccer hooligans intent on inciting violence.

They claim to be a 'multicultural organisation against militant Islam' which has 'no issues with Muslims who wish us no harm'.

The Unite Against Fascism group meanwhile is an umbrella organisation formed by the Anti-Nazi League and the National Assembly Against Racism in response to the rising electoral threat of the BNP.

On its website it urged people to join the protest to 'show these thugs their brand of vicious racism is not wanted'.

Chaos erupted when the opposing factions clashed in New Street, which runs between where the respective protests where held.

Shopper Emily Bridgewater said: 'There was stampeding and screaming. We ended up being locked in Primark, the shutters came down and the alarms went off as the riot police tried to regain control of the street.'

At least three people were injured before the worst of the violence was brought under control by 8.30pm.

Birmingham MP Khalid Mahmood questioned the wisdom of allowing the two protests to be held simultaneously. He said: 'Certainly if there was going to be rallies by both these groups at the same time it would always lead to confrontation.'

Police were aware the Right-wing protest had been planned through social networking sites but said no formal request to march was submitted. They had however been in talks with the UAF about its demonstration.

Chief Inspector Mark Payne said: 'It is important to be aware we have no powers to ban or stop peaceful protests and would not seek to do so.

'However, if criminal acts or racially aggravated incidents are reported, then police will arrest and prosecute anyone responsible.'

Anti-Semitism In Europe

From Jdamn at the Astute Bloggers:

It's a special from CBN about rampant European anti-Semitism and dhimmitude more generally. Once again, American Evangelicals are the only ones looking out for Jews. If it weren’t for them, Jews wouldn’t be safe in America, either. The video, unfortunately, makes the distinction between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism, which is pretty ridiculous, since the same Europeans who support pushing the Jews into the sea today were were telling Jews to go back to Palestine 70 years ago. Still, it's a great special. CBN's journalism is vastly underrated.

SHOULD YOU KEEP YOUR KIDS HOME FROM SCHOOL TOMORROW?

From Ace of Spades:

It's About Trust

—Gabriel Malor

The President doesn't have it.

School districts in Missouri, Texas, Virgina, Minnesota, and the President's own Illinois have decided not to show the President's speech to children tomorrow. Many more districts are allowing parents to "opt out." In other districts, parents are apparently considering keeping their children home tomorrow.

Democrats and lefty commentators have been grousing that parents and school administrators didn't just fall to their knees and thank Obama for deigning to reach out to children. They don't get it. They point to previous school speeches by President's Reagan and Bush 41. Even White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs called the concern about giving Obama unfiltered access "silly season."

But it's not silly and it's not an unreasonable concern. The President has given us little reason to believe he is capable of delivering a non-political, non-polemical speech. Every time he opens his mouth he expresses a vision of America much further to the Left than most of us are comfortable with. Parents and school districts rightly exercise their right not to have their children's ears filled with that.

The President's speeches are filled with vague enemies that stand in the way of "progress". Only, they are his enemies, not our enemies. For example, in his healthcare speeches the enemies are Republicans and health insurers. In his first speech to Congress back in February, the enemies were the wealthy, banks, and Bush 43. Parents rightly wonder, "Who is he going to blame now?"

Gibbs calls it silly season. That does nothing to allay parental concerns. And it is just one more example of the Democratic response to any challenge: call names. During the past month, the Democrats have spent more words on nastily describing opponents than actually trying to sell their policies. I'm sure I've missed some, but at my last reckoning we've been called "the mob", "terrorists", "racists", "like the KKK", "traitors", "evil-mongers", "fascists", and the former chairman of the DNC said we wanted to kill the president.

This namecalling isn't coming from the Democratic fringe. This came from party leaders, congressmen, and well-known commentators. It ran in the major papers and on cable news. Given this behavior from the President's allies, it's no wonder people are a little hesitant to let him speak to their children. The president's own race-inspired name-calling about the "stupid" Cambridge Police Department certainly hasn't helped.

In short, it's about trust. People are finding it hard to trust the President. He's out of touch with American mainstream. He has surrounded himself with people who embrace disgusting beliefs, including Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers, not to mention Van Jones. He reaches out to tyrants like Ahmadinejad and Chavez. He oppresses democratic countries like Honduras and threatens to abandon our strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel.

That makes him, in many eyes, fundamentally untrustworthy. Democrats assure us that the President's speech will just be about staying in school. Why should we believe them?

Where are John Ford, and Frank Capra when you need them?

John Ford's films:Cheyenne Autumn, Donovan's Reef , How the West Was Won ,

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance , Sergeant Rutledge, The Horse Soldiers,Korea , The Last Hurrah , The Wings of Eagles , The Searchers , The Searchers , The Long Gray Line , Mogambo, What Price Glory , The Quiet Man , Rio Grande, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, 3 Godfathers, Fort Apache , My Darling Clementine (OK CORRAL), They Were Expendable, Torpedo Squadron , How Green Was My Valley, The Long Voyage Home , The Grapes of Wrath , Drums Along the Mohawk , Young Mr. Lincoln (OK THAT'S BACK TO 1939)

These are not all semi fictional adulatory towards american history movies

Capra: Pocketful of Miracles , A Hole in the Head , Here Comes the Groom, It's a Wonderful Life , War Comes to America (1945) ... aka Why We Fight, Arsenic and Old Lace, Meet John Doe, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, You Can't Take It with You, Lost Horizon , Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

Same for Capra

Both directors in time of war made films for both the military and public consumption.

Consider instead....OLIVER STONE:

Director Oliver Stone says the U.S. media and government have demonised Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and other leftist South American leaders, and argues in a new film that they were right to stand up to Washington.

Chavez, who landed in Venice for the film's premiere, has earned a reputation for his outspoken criticism of U.S. policy, and in Stone's "South of the Border" he is sympathetically portrayed as a hero of the people who refuses to be bullied.

Originally an attempt to redress what Stone saw as unfair treatment of Chavez by TV networks and newspapers, the documentary turned into a bigger project and included interviews not only with him but with six other presidents in the region.

and MIchael Moore:

Capitalism is evil. That is the conclusion U.S. documentary maker Michael Moore comes to in his latest movie "Capitalism: A Love Story," which premieres at the Venice film festival Sunday.

Blending his trademark humor with tragic individual stories, archive footage and publicity stunts, the 55-year-old launches an all out attack on the capitalist system, arguing that it benefits the rich and condemns millions to poverty.

"Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil," the two-hour movie concludes.

"You have to eliminate it and replace it with something that is good for all people and that something is democracy."

Is it any wonder that the world despises us when the Hollywood left makes PROPAGANDA for the critical progressive left and those who want to kill us and out system.

THIS NATION IS IN DEEP TROUBLE and it is NOT because of our faults. It is because of the self destructive personal sicknesses and urges and compulsions of the critical progressive left.

Both Stone and Moore despise the basis of the founding brothers, and what they created.

Just head for the doors fellows.

White House transparency? It's there if you open your eyes...

Charles Krauthammer's statement on Van Jones.

Here is a taste:

For anyone with common sense and a willingness to look at what we were allowed to learn about Obama's background and associations, nothing about Van Jones is the least bit surprising. Nothing about Obama's penchant for government by radical, unaccountable czars is the least bit surprising. What is surprising is that smart people continue to treat these developments as if they were abberations that somehow happen independent of Obama, as if the president just needs to do a better job of vetting staffers. The selection of Van Jones is who Obama is and what he is about. Bad things are not happening to our president; our president is doing bad things -- as we should have known he would.

Go read it all.

THE AUDACITY IS ASSTOUNDING

From Gateway:

Left Is Seething That Golden Boy Commie-Truther Van Jones Was "Driven From Office" By "Lunatic Bullies"

The left is seething that their Golden Boy, the Truther and cop killer supporter, Van Jones was driven from his White House office.
The Politico reported:
"As we've seen before, succumbing to these types of propaganda attacks from the right wing only emboldens the aggressors. This controversy will go away and they will trump up another one tomorrow,” said David Brock, founder and chairman of Media Matters for America, a group that has taken on conservative commentators. “No good comes from appeasing a lunatic bully like Glenn Beck."

"If Jones left under pressure from the Obama administration then we are in for a very long and painful four years,” said Melissa Harris Lacewell, a political science professor at Princeton University. “I would hate to think that Glenn Beck can simply shout down any member of the administration he chooses to target.”
That didn't take long.
The martyrdom of communist-Truther Van Jones has begun.
At a commencement address in the spring, first lady Michelle Obama held Jones up as an example to students of people who are doing interesting and innovative work.

"And then there's Van Jones, who recently joined the Obama administration, a special adviser to the president on green jobs. Van started out as a grassroots organizer and became an advocate and a creator of ‘green collar’ jobs –- jobs that are not only good for the environment, but also provide good wages and career advancement for both skilled and unskilled workers,” she said.

...There was little immediate talk of possible successors to Jones, largely due to the sense he would be difficult to replace in an advisory post designed specifically for him, due to his past work in promoting "green jobs." His departure will likely leave the sorest feelings among Obama’s supporters on the left. Jones has deep ties to the current liberal elite: He was a top aide to Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington’s 2003 campaign for governor of California, and Sunday won praise from, among others, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean.
So is their anyone on the left who did not praise this commie-Truther?
No wonder the Left is so pi$$ed.

From Christine:

What part of NO COMMUNISTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE, do these people not understand?

If he was clean, he could've been as green as he wanted to be.

This from Powerline:

The defining accomplishment of Van Jones's life was his founding of the
Ella Baker Freedom Center. While the controversy over his appointment was going on I meant to look into who she was, but didn't get it done. Ron Radosh, an expert on the hard left of which he was once a member, has the answer:

[T]he name of Jones' Oakland group, The Ella Baker Freedom Center, is most appropriate. Most people have referred to the late Baker as simply a
civil rights activist. I am writing from vacation in Nantucket, without benefit of my files at home. But in my book, Divided They Fell: The Demise of the Democratic Party, 1964-1996, I point out that the late civil rights lawyer Joe Rauh had noted that everything Baker said in the 60's might as well have been taken verbatim from The Daily Worker, the Communist Party newspaper. Baker was so pro-Communist that she attacked Hubert Humphrey and other liberal anti-Communists as ultra reactionaries. Known as the "grandmother of SNCC," Baker was aligned with those in the movement who were trying to push the organization to the far left.

I think that sums up the Obama administration pretty well. If you think Hubert Humphrey was an ultra-reactionary, this administration's for you!

Repeat after me:

NO COMMUNISTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

Evolution of global Islam

From the Rising Kashmir:

September 11 attack, a watershed in deciding the co-evolution of various civilizations, can be interpreted as the biggest plea by radical Muslims to eliminate liberals from Islam. The American reaction in the form of attack on al-Qaeda-Taliban combine in Afghanistan and Pakistan and later invasion of Iraq is just what hardliners wanted. The radicals, by creating stakes for the US, have created stakes for themselves. The radicals are directing Islam towards the Islam of early era, while the Americans are cashing it by creating space for themselves in not-yet inflated Islamic world.

The Radicalization is not an ex nihilo creation, coming out of nothing. It is conscious and intrinsic part of Islamic culture. It can not be termed as flaw of distribution, either. The on going fighting among the maximally un-equals in Afghanistan and Pakistan is imperative for the spread of radical Islam. The fact is that Pentagon and allied forces can not be defeated, but the purity of Islam would win. The hard line Islam wants a bigger space and will definitely come into equilibriums with the liberal ideologies. The radicalization of Islam is a natural adjustment towards the West dominated GATT and an inevitability, in the light of the beginning of the end of oil. The matter-of-fact is that it is Islam, the purest one, which would save the Muslims in not-so-welcome, post-oil era.

Filmmakers weigh in on Toronto Israel flap

ENTER (YOUR DOCUMENTARY) INTO NEXT YEAR'S TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL ... POSTHUMOUSLY ...

LOL funny.

From BabbaZee:

TORONTO -- Now it's getting personal. Canadian filmmaker John Greyson's decision to pull his short film from the Toronto International Film Festival has provoked a growing feud among Canadian filmmakers.

Veteran Canadian documentary maker Simcha Jacobovici, who was born in Israel, said Greyson should test his sympathy for the Palestinians by screening his short film about the 2008 Sarajevo Queer Festival in Tel Aviv and on the West Bank. "He will be invited to screen the film at the local (Tel Aviv) cinematheque. He can then walk around with the same sign down the streets of Palestinian Ramallah. He should document the experience on video and then enter it into next year's TIFF -- posthumously," Jacobovici said.

Real Americans

From Glenn Beck via American Power:

The American people stood up and demanded answers. Instead of providing them, the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness. I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future.

The keys words within this statement are, "The American People". Not the mainstream media, who as we know, dropped the ball on this.

The real American People are using new technology to discuss, learn and combine their strength and fight. Using alternative sources such as World Net Daily and a worldwide network of blogs. Bill Kristol at Fox News even commended Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit for doing more reporting on Jones than the entire MSM.

But, this is not new. The liberals used new media to coordinate their plans during the Bush years. What's new is who is out there doing the fighting. The real American people.

What the liberal left and the MSM media have so far failed to understand is, the real American People are not happy. During President Bush's reign, there were plenty of protests. The liberal left, with groups such as Moveon.org and Code Pink, were out there making all kinds of noise and causing a fuss.

But, they were not the real American People. They were funded groups of radicals who were screaming in psychedelic colors, the same old tired lines from the 60's. Messages that real American's do not relate to. Except for the pandering MSM, nobody was listening, including the White House. The White House knew these groups did not speak for real Americans.

Things have changed, real Americans are turning to alternative sources for information and getting their voices heard. We are not hired mobs, our messages are not old tired lines from the 60's and there are many more of us. Glenn Beck, a very smart man who see's himself as a real American, can see the writing on the wall.

Whether the pandering MSM want to admit it or not, the real Americans have become a force to be reconned with.

And, the White House IS (quietly and secretly) listening this time.

Calling the FCC Diversity Czar : Chavez minister vows more Venezuela radio closings

But it doesn't say the executive branch can't figure out some way to attempt it for the 'greater good' does it?

PURRRFECT for this administration. After all this is what the Obama Admin Czar, and therefore literal spokesman says about Jefferson's ideas:

mark-lloyd.jpgLloyd:"It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies.

Lloyd:"[T]he purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance."

.......

Lloyd:"In Venezuela, with Chavez, is really an incredible revolution - a democratic revolution. To begin to put in place things that are going to have an impact on the people of Venezuela.

Lloyd:"The property owners and the folks who then controlled the media in Venezuela rebelled - worked, frankly, with folks here in the U.S. government - worked to oust him. But he came back with another revolution, and then Chavez began to take very seriously the media in his country.

Lloyd:"And we've had complaints about this ever since."

AND IN VENEZUELA

TODAY:

From news services-

* Radio stations to be pulled after 34 closed in August

* Critics say hits free speech, government says democratic

* Anti-Chavez TV network in the spotlight over coup rumor

CARACAS, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Venezuela will pull the plug on 29 more radio stations, a top official in President Hugo Chavez's government said on Saturday, just weeks after dozens of other outlets were closed in a media clampdown.

Infrastructure Minister Diosdado Cabello closed 34 radio stations in July, saying the government was "democratizing" media ownership. Critics say the move limits freedom of expression and has taken critical voices off the airwaves.

The powerful Chavez ally has threatened to close over 100 stations in total, part of a long-term campaign against private media that the government says are biased against Chavez's government.

"Another 29 will be gone before long," he told thousands of Chavez supporters at a political rally, without giving details which stations would be closed or when.

Cabello also said he was launching a new legal case against Globovision, the country's most prominent anti-government television network, accusing it of inciting a coup against Chavez.

Text messages circulated Last week in Venezuela saying a coup against Chavez was imminent. Other messages circulated among Chavez supporters calling for them to be on the alert

The government quashed the rumors quickly and said all military units were acting normally.

"They (Globovision) aired a tape supposedly with telephone messages calling for a coup d'etat," said Cabello, a member of Chavez's inner circle who took part in the president's first bid for office -- a violent and abortive coup in 1992.

Chavez was himself ousted for 48 hours 10 years later in a short-lived army rebellion after he won office democratically. That putsch had the support of some of the country's television companies.

In 2007, Chavez took revenge, refusing to renew the concession of Venezuela's oldest and most widely watched private station, RCTV, which is now visible only on cable.

Chavez has long threatened to close down Globovision on similar grounds and the government has slapped it with big fines and legal cases this year. (Reporting by Eyanir Chinea; Writing by Frank Jack Daniel; Editing by Peter Cooney)

When China quotes Ben Franklin to America, we're in it deep

And we are.

Remember the closed door CIA warning to congress about compromised national sovereignty over debt being held by certain nations overseas? Telegraph UK:

The US Federal Reserve's policy of printing money to buy Treasury debt threatens to set off a serious decline of the dollar and compel China to redesign its foreign reserve policy, according to a top member of the Communist hierarchy.

Cheng Siwei, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee and now head of China's green energy drive, said Beijing was dismayed by the Fed's recourse to "credit easing".

"We hope there will be a change in monetary policy as soon as they have positive growth again," he said at the Ambrosetti Workshop, a policy gathering on Lake Como.

"If they keep printing money to buy bonds it will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall hard. Most of our foreign reserves are in US bonds and this is very difficult to change, so we will diversify incremental reserves into euros, yen, and other currencies," he said.

China's reserves are more than - $2 trillion, the world's largest.

Mr Cheng said China had learned from the West that it is a mistake for central banks to target retail price inflation and take their eye off assets.

"This is where Greenspan went wrong from 2000 to 2004," he said. "He thought everything was alright because inflation was low, but assets absorbed the liquidity."

Mr Cheng said China had lost 20m jobs as a result of the crisis and advised the West not to over-estimate the role that his country can play in global recovery.

China's task is to switch from export dependency to internal consumption, but that requires a "change in the ideology of the Chinese people" to discourage excess saving. "This is very difficult".

Mr Cheng said the root cause of global imbalances is spending patterns in US (and UK) and China.

"The US spends tomorrow's money today," he said. "We Chinese spend today's money tomorrow. That's why we have this financial crisis."

Yet the consequences are not symmetric.

"He who goes borrowing, goes sorrowing," said Mr Cheng.

It was a quote from US founding father Benjamin Franklin.

How do people like Van Jones, and the FCC's Mark 'We should emulate Venzuela' LLoyd get picked?

Politico:

it was a fresh reminder that the White House's vetting process didn't fall down only on high-profile nominees like Tom Daschle. It barely touched the lower reaches of the administration - a White House official conceded Sunday that Jones' past statements weren't as thoroughly scrubbed due to his relatively low rank. Jones' selection also was propelled by powerful patrons, who included the first lady and the vice president.

Politico also concludes that this shows Obama's opposition is 'really' from the hard right.

Sorry, but there would be NO opposition to rightfully filled positions, as there was MINIMAL to Sotomayor,if qualified people, from SOME SEMBLANCE OF MAINSTREAM AMERICA AND AMERICAN IDEALS were chosen. SOME SEMBLANCE.

People like Van Jones and Lloyd are opposed by the PEOPLE who are paying attention. FACTS ABOUT THESE YUTZES ARE FACTS.

Once FACTS arrived in the public view, there was little issue, was there?

Barack Obama's ideals, carried out via these appointments which avoid congress and sunlight, cannot survive in the light of day. His entire 'fundamental change' and it is, has to be accomplished in the dark or at least dusk, and every time it hits sunlight, it creates sounds and noise, like an exploding vampire.

That's where his opposition comes from, Ben Smith.

Barack Obama is not about the change from a conservative (it wasn't) republican to a liberal (he ain't) democratic administration. It is from the slightly right of center overall to the unamerican, from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs, Michael Moore, capitalism is evil and therefore so has been america before this, LEFT.

The american people so far do NOT ACCEPT that if you are smart and work hard you owe the rest of us because we say we need you to.

THAT is the underlying opposition to Barack Obama.

Glenn Beck has a microphone, but the majority wish they had his scrutinizing resources today.

BELIEVE IT.

And the blame for that is not with Beck or the right, it is with Barack Obama

BREAKING/BOMBSHELL: BRITISH OFFICIAL: OBAMA LIED; KNEW IN ADVANCE ABOUT LOCKERIE BOMBER'S RELEASE

From Reliapundit, the Astutest of all Bloggers:

DM:
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return

the officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.

‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.

‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.

'They knew about our prisoner transfer agreement with Libya and they knew that the Scots were considering Megrahi’s case.’

IF THIS IS TRUE - THAT OBAMA KNEW ABOUT IT AND DIDN'T OBJECT, THEN OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN, OR BE IMPEACHED.

  • USAG HOLDER MUST APPOINT A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR TO INVESTIGATE OBAMA.
  • AN INVESTIGATION AND REPORT SHOULD TAKE ALL OF TWO WEEKS.
  • IF THERE IS NO INVESTIGATION, THEN WHY NOT?!

Never Let It Go Unanswered!

See how Robert Spencer handled the yelling Muslim? I haven't heard Spencer talk in the past. I have only read his stuff. First off, I just want to say that this man knows a lot about Islam and its not just "oh yeah, Islam sucks" kind of knowledge but real hardcore knowledge of Islamic theology as understood by Muslims.

It happens so many times that when anyone tries to hold a "debate" or a "discussion" with a Muslim and tries to raise objections to Islam, they are yelled at, insulted and forced to shut up--and many, in turn, do shut up because they are decent human beings. What happens as a result though is that that act of the non Muslim, the act of shutting up, is looked at by Muslim as their weakness and then the shout follows, "we have won! Allah-u-akbar!"

Am I saying that Robert Spencer is not a decent human being? Of course not. What I am saying is that Robert Spencer knows that even though he is a decent human being, to be able to heard in this politically correct, ultra-sensitive world, he has to raise his voice when a Muslim starts yelling. He has to raise his voice higher! He can't afford to shut up and then never be heard again. He can't afford to cave in. He can't afford to turn the other cheek because it is not himself that he's fighting for or fighting against, but he is fighting for the freedom of 100s of millions of people and he's fighting against an ideology that will make sure those people don't have their freedom once this religion gets its way.

Remamber, it was swift and strong hand of Charles Martel that drove the invading Muslim armies back on their heels to the hell-hole they came from. There is a reason he is known as Charles The HAMMER. And that reason isn't because he thought, "oh, I might offend Muslims by defending my country and my values, so why not compromise?" His army was smaller than the invading Muslim army but he prevailed because he knew something bigger was at stake than pleasing barbarians. He knew he couldn't make a deal with the devil!

Robert Spencer knows it all also. With Muslims, you can't give them a second chance. You can't let them gain any ground. You can't accept defeat today and reply tomorrow. You can't compromise one value and hope for eternal peace because they will keep on asking for more (look up Arab politicians of people who call themselves Palestinains). And finally, even though it may sound unimportant, you can not let a Muslim objection to concerns raised about Islam go unanswered--you will be called a bigot, an extremist, a fool now but you might not get another chance to set the record straight.

Bravo Robert Spencer!

Barack Obama: Heil Headmaster!

Guest Commentary by Edward Cline:

Someone else may have said it first: When the adults won’t listen, go after the kids.

The sick irony is that the federal government has been “going after the kids” ever since it was first allowed to put its nose in the tent of education. This has been going on for decades. Now the smelly, drooling beast occupies virtually the whole tent, in the form of Ayn Rand’s Comprachicos, the lobotomizing, teacher-college trained “conditioners” who take orders from the feds and politicized school boards on what constitutes “teaching.” “Teaching,” to them, is basically the skilled inculcation of passivity in students of all ages as a precondition to following orders without question and voluntary servitude without expectation of reward or recognition -- to serve the state, the collective, the environment, whatever the local party chief, ward-heeler, or galeiter says is the “good.”

Rand wrote:

The only purpose of education is to teach a student how to live his life -- by developing his mind and equipping him to deal with reality. The training he needs is theoretical, I.e., conceptual. He has to be taught to think, to understand, to integrate, to prove. He has to be taught the essentials of the knowledge discovered in the past -- and he has to be equipped to acquire further knowledge by his own effort.*
On modern education, she noted:

The academia-jet set coalition is attempting to tame the American character by the deliberate breeding of helplessness and resignation -- in those incubators of lethargy known as ‘Progressive’ schools, which are dedicated to the task of crippling a child’s mind by arresting his cognitive development.**
Last week, President Barack Obama went after the kids with his “I Pledge” video, which featured a number of Hollywood and other familiar faces “pledging” to adhere to a number of collectivist causes, including not using plastic water bottles, plastic bags, getting rid of fuel-inefficient cars in favor of hybrids, of offering one’s smiles and service to complete strangers, etc. and ad nauseam, ending with Demi Moore and her partner saying, “I pledge to be a servant of our President and all mankind.”

The video then becomes an expanding mosaic or montage of all the stars speaking at once (“because together we can, together we are, and together we will be the change that we seek” -- which could have been the oath of allegiance to the collective “We” in Rand’s novel, Anthem), and then the montage fades into the off-color poster of Obama, the Capitol, and the White House, looking like a lonely leader. Like a Big Brother, who just wants your understanding and cooperation. And service. No questions asked. Or tolerated.

Obama says you don’t have time to think. Just to act. Just as he has.

A very slick piece of propaganda. Hitler would have envied it. There were no Nazi Party chiefs telling the populace or the children what they should think or do. No Heinrich Himmler or Joseph Goebbels lecturing them from on high on their duty to the state, to the Party, to the nation. Just a parade of popular Hollywood and music video faces speaking very sincerely about their willingness to “serve our President.”

No, too many American adults will not listen to Obama and his pick of the Communist Party about what is best for them. So, they go after the helpless victims of government-mandated indoctrination. Employ famous pop culture faces to deliver the message. Then require every public school in the country to broadcast it, as an overture to Obama’s address to school children on September 8th.

But, they have not counted on volition. They have underestimated the American character. They did not count on parents “opting out” of allowing their children to be subjected to the video and the speech. On school boards and principals warily offering parents and students the chance to say “No, thanks, we‘re thinking beings, and this is an insult to our intelligence.”

Obama’s attempt to ram socialism down the throats of Americans through his and Congress’s health care bill has faltered because there are enough thinking individuals left in this country who are speaking out against him and his entire agenda. Those Americans are a reality they thought they could bypass. But that detour has almost led them to race right off the end of an unfinished bridge.

Desperation drives despots to win over children. To seduce them with pop culture eye-candy or appeals to emotion. Or to enslave them. More on this contemptible appeal to American school children after September 8th.

Speaking of lessons...

What seems like a very long time ago, but actually it's only been a little over a year, we had a presidential race.

In one corner, you had a candidate who claimed to be a centrist, but was actually a far left socialist, with a host of friends who have all the top invites to Chavez's pad and smoke cigars in a dark room, somewhere in Chicago.

In the other corner, you had a candidate who claimed to be a Republican, but was actually a centrist.

Now, 9 months since the thug in chief, Chavez wanna be entered the White House, our economy is in shambles, soup kitchen lines are going around the block filled with the jobless, those who were our foes are our friends and our old time friends have changed their phone numbers.

We have 31, no make that 30, mysterious people holding positions, with God knows what power, making decisions that could affect our grandchildren's world, who Obama gathered up into his "Socialism is Freedom" bus (which of course needs frequent tire changes due to the bodies being tossed out) from behind suspicious looking warehouses in downtown Chi Town.

The back room of the White House has been turned into a scene from the Godfather. The blinds that were suppose to be open, are now welded shut with iron bars. Ideas, plans and schemes are being cooked up, that we may or may not find out about, before they have been approved, by people who see it as "beneath them" to actually have to read them and besides, they know what's best for us. Our constitution has been relegated to a storage unit somewhere with a night guard. And soon, our children will have "special camps" to attend.

What was white is "asshole, racist, extremist mobs and what was black is African American, with American on it's way out, to be replaced with either the USSA or ISA. That's another fight in the future, time and location to be announced.

Our chickens, have been cooked.

And I hear "But he said he was a centrist".

Seems to me, we would have needed a hell of a lot less pain reliever, if we had just elected the actual centrist in the first place.

Just sayin'.

A Word Of Caution On The Rifqa Bary Story

When the Rifqa Bary story first began appearing, Midnight Rider wrote to me saying something didn't feel quite right. He sent me this video as an example:

You'll notice that when Rifqa beginning at the :51 second mark, there are no tears.

I trust MR's instincts, and I felt caution about the story. However, I told Midnight Rider that I sense that Rifqa Bary is, like many teenage girls, simply a Drama Queen. In fact, that may be the basic truth of her personality. She may be now and forever a Drama Queen, a Diva.

However, I told Midnight Rider, that does not mean she is not telling the truth. In fact, when Drama Queens do find themselves suddenly caught up in something that is a very real danger, they find objective reality piercing their usual thoroughly subjective reality, and they have trouble recognizing it as anything more than another bit of drama in their subjective reality.

When Rifqa Bary repeats over and over, "You guys just don't understand ... you guys just don't understand ..." I sense that she is speaking of herself. She is the one who "just doesn't understand." She has a hard time believing that anything in Objective Reality could actually break her absolute control over her Subjective Reality. That's my sense.

That is how Drama Queens behave.

I tend to believe Rifqa Bary is a Drama Queen who was born into a Muslim family, has become a Christian, and is now going through the very real problems that go along with Apostasy in Muslim culture, which includes, of course, death by Honor Killing.

However, this morning, I received a word of caution from another trusted friend, BabbaZee. BabbaZee's opinion differs from Midnight Riders just slightly. I'll let Babba speak on her opinion, if she so chooses.

The problem for me is, while I've always believed Rifqa Bary, I have never really trusted her as a person. And now, having had two friends caution me on this story, I am starting to be concerned. And so, I have decided to give public voice to my concern.

The problem with Drama Queens is they change their minds at the drop of a pin.

Do not be surprised if Rifqa Bary has some surprises up her sleeve. And, do not be surprised if this story turns out completely differently than you may have ever believed it could.

UPDATE: I also think it is important to note that Rifqa is, as we have already posted, an sexually-abused/physically-abused child. It would be no wonder that a young girl like her might have a tenuous grasp on reality.

Van Jones OUT? BUT THAT'S NOT THE STORY - next: Lloyd at the FCC AND WHO ELSE IS LURKING?

Jones may be finito, but what is it that these executive appointments who don't go thru congressional, CONSTITUTIONAL scrutiny say?

World Tribune:

At a 2008 "media reform" conference sponsored by the George Soros-funded Free Press organization, Lloyd declared that the Marxist revolution in Venezuela under Chavez was "incredible" and "dramatic" but that the "property owners and the folks who were then controlling the media in Venezuela rebelled" against the would-be dictator and supported a coup against him. However, Lloyd said that Chavez wised up and "then started to take the media seriously..."

Venezuela? Where jews are afraid to walk the streets and Synagogues are trashed by goon squads? Where Chavez blames them not only the the death of Christ, but stealing the resources of all?

Where crews of govt hired thugs break into newspapers cracking the heads of critical reporters, editors, publishers and pressmen, and then the govt closes them down?

Where industries are seized by the govt to 'save' them in the name of the people ? Gee, does THIS one sound familiar .. and yeah I'm talking about YOU TOO Bush (And then are mismanaged?)

Where protest leaders are arrested?

This is what is ADMIRABLE to the Obama administration?

WHY IS THIS ADMIRABLE?

WHAT THEORY MAKES THIS ADMIRABLE?

Who else and what else lie partially or completely hidden away in the executive, poised for unconstitutional and unamerican plans and actions?

These people who ironically emphasize the consonance betwen their alarming, scary, unamerican and anticonstitutional views and that of their boss and his other earlier WARNING appointments and friendships (McPeak, Ayers, Powers, Wright, Zbig, Farrakhan) and his preferences and proclivities over time - get into positions of power SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE they avoid congressional scrutiny during the hiring process, are clearly shortcutted in the vetting process (obviously on purpose - or will they claim are they are incompetent?) , and are PART OF A COORDINATED THEORY OF CHANGE IN GOVT WHICH AVOIDS THE CHECKS AND BALANCES ESTABLISHED BY 220 YEARS OF CONSTITUTIONAL DEPENDENCE ON THE WEAKNESS OF MANKIND AND HIS THIRST FOR POWER.

Barack Obama has proven he is literally qualified to get elected to the office of president, but he is day by day proving he is unfit for the job, and that his personal concepts of social, economic, and environmental justice are utterly UNAMERICAN. He is proving simply by giving them a chance that the democratic party leadership as presently constituted is a corrupt, extremist group which, marked Harry Reid's bending over for Moveon after the 2004 election for MONEYS, incapable of not only effective leadership, but of policies in the nation's true interest.

2010

Republican leaders, and ranking committee members should be calling for and carrying out their own investigations of the executive branch and this power grab by people who are clearly members of another system of governing

It has been done before.

Come off it, Boris!

“Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, has urged non-Muslims to fast for a day during Ramadan and then to break their fast at a mosque to improve their understanding of Islam,” The Times (London) tells us this weekend.

Oh, yes? More ingratiating, appeasing nonsense from grubby politicians who are after the Muslim vote?

It’s so easy to like good old Boris Johnson. He has that floppy-haired geniality about him, and has committed one or two gaffes in his time as an MP (before he was Mayor of London) that tended to endear him to us rather than alienate him. A sort of likable oaf – that sort of image.

Like his predecessor, Ken Livingstone (who, like Johnson, has done stints on comedy panel shows such as Have I Got News For You), he often gets referred to by his first name. He’s Boris, not Johnson.

But we mustn’t forget that he’s a politician, and, to a large extent, politicians are grubby people who lie and cheat and will stop at nothing to push themselves up the career ladder. Bugger public service, unless it just happens to coincide with my ambitions and greed for power (and, of course, a generous, easy-to-abuse expenses package).

Boris – er, Johnson – thinks that, because some Muslims are trying to fit in with the host culture (no more than we’d expect), we ought to go to a mosque, learn more about their religion and even fast for a day during Ramadan.

But why the hell should we? If you’re studying religions, including Islam, that’s one thing, but why should we wish to dip our toe into this hideous belief system any more than, say, chomp on a thin biscuit and try to believe we’re eating bits of Jesus?

Johnson oozed, “There are valuable lessons people of all backgrounds can learn from Islam, such as the importance of community spirit, family ties, compassion and helping those less fortunate, all of which lie at the heart of the teachings of Ramadan.”

Last time I looked community spirit was thriving in other religions and among those of no religion, Mr Johnson, as were compassion and service to others.

The Times cites the Home Office Islamic Network, which

says that non-Muslims should consider fasting for a day and also asks non-Muslims to be sensitive when eating lunch near a Muslim who is fasting. In Personnel Today magazine, Rachel Krys, of the Employers’ Forum on Belief, writes: “Something as simple as not having biscuits at a team meeting would demonstrate sensitivity to what Muslim colleagues are doing.”

Bollocks, Ms Krys! If they don’t want to see people eat, they can decline to take part in the meeting, and suffer the consequences if their boss tells them they must be there.

What is it about bloody Islam that we should all be expected to bow down to it and observe its ways if there are Muslims close by? What comes next? Sharia courts? Oh, I was forgetting: we already have those.

Perhaps barbarically slaughtered meat forced on non-Muslims? Oh, I was forgetting: there’s already evidence of that – and, of course, it’s set to continue, along with equally barbaric slaughter to appease orthodox Jews.

So no, Mr Johnson and Ms Krys, we must not keep bowing down to demands that we accept their “faith”. There should be no place for “faith” in the public square, unless it’s in the form of reasoned discussion. We’ve seen what a mess it can make of the world.
