Over the weekend another 'moderate' Democrat, Marion Berry of Arkansas, announced he's retiring.
According to Berry, Obama tried to assure him and other 'moderates' that they can continue to vote for his unpopular plans and that everything will work out in the midterms.
“They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”Yeah, they've got him alright...hanging around them like an albatross.
Let's take a quick look at the scoreboard in the recent spate of elections: Obama shows up in NJ, VA and MA, the Democrats go down.
In the one election the Democrats won (NY-23) Obama didn't show up and the candidate said he would oppose the House health care bill (that turned out to be a lie but still).
It's pretty clear a lot of young and minority voters will show up to vote for Obama but not for other Democrats. It's also clear a lot of other voters (one might call them "bitter clingers") took a chance on Obama and are regretting it.
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.
