Pathetic....

A Tory MPhas been investigated by police for alleged racial hatred after criticising the burka during a Commons debate.

Philip Hollobone described the garment as 'the religious equivalent of going around with a paper bag over your head with two holes for the eyes'.

Northamptonshire Race Equality Council, which is funded by taxpayers, complained to police.

Mr Hollobone said the group wanted to see him prosecuted for inciting religious hatred but the Crown Prosecution Service has decided not to take action.

Debates in Westminster are protected by parliamentary privilege.

He insisted he would continue to speak out on a 'perfectly legitimate topic for debate'.

'What we cannot have in this country are MPs being threatened when they speak out on contentious issues,' he said.

Muslims will always try to play the race card as a first line of defence against any form of criticism.

Pastorius,

Someone needs to tell me about how criticizing a cultural or religious practice is racist. This is utterly absurd. Learned behavior has nothing to do with what "race," one is born into. Bosch was born into a Muslim family yet not only did he eventually reject Islam, he also opposes the Burqa.

Plus, how could anyone convert to or reject, Islam, in the first place if it was a race, someone was born into?

Not to sound like a smart-ass, but since when does the left have to make sense or follow logic?
Or when have they ever followed logic all the way through on any issue? If they did, they'd be .....conservative or TRUE liberals which they aren't.
As it is they are becoming more and more the very definition of fascists.

Since when was it regarded as "racial hatred" to express an opinion re an article of clothing?

Utter rubbish. The Crown Prosecution service frequently take no action in clear cases of serious assault. The fact that they decided to take no action is irrelevant.

What is relevant is that a "Race Equality Council" have not been prosecuted for wasting police time.
