Ground Zero Mosque Imam Denies Muslim Involvement In 9/11

From the American Thinker:
The Imam of the Ground Zero Insult, Faisal Abdul Rauf, is not the nice guy he likes to hold himself out to be. At his Friday afternoon khutbah services and in his book What's Right With Islam Rauf states that he wants the mosque to be a place where inter-faith understanding is fostered. His sonorous voice is smooth and almost hypnotic. His writing style appears to be rational and unthreatening.

However, this does not jibe with the aspects of him that are downright hostile and frightening.

During a recent Friday sermon, this writer did due diligence as a mosque monitor and heard Rauf deny that Muslims perpetrated 9/11. In an interview with CNN shortly after 9/11, Rauf said, "U.S. policies were an accessory to the crime that happened. We [the U.S.] have been an accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. Osama bin Laden was made in the USA." Elsewhere, Rauf has stated that terrorism will end only when the West acknowledges the harm it has done to Muslims. And that it was Christians who started mass attacks on civilians.

From Revere Rides Again:
This mosque is being built by the enemy on our soil in a time of war. It is intended as an insult because it is in the nature of Islamists to build mosques upon the territory of their defeated enemies. They consider 9/11/01 a victory over us. They are celebrating that victory with this effing mosque.

I do not see the mosque being built as an insult at all, based on the idea of it being an inter-faith objective and stop some ludicrous radical agenda-crap from both sides.

Mind you, the question is not the mosque but who is going to run it and will it fulfill that goal it has set. That I doubt.

I read the articles about those, including the memorial designer complaining that the Mosque should not be built and their arguments simply failed miserably, whilst the arguments for the mosque stood logical.

The comment that "it was Muslims that destroyed the WTC etc, etc" falls flat because then us Dutch would and the French would have nothing to do with Germany, nor would Israel - but they do. The US would refuse to have anything to do with Japan especially in Hawaii but they do. Japan would refuse anything American at all becuase of the bomb-sites but they do. Get my drift?

The other comments were simply bigoted rubbish and only in one location did someone correctly argue that the idea of the mosque was fine, if not necessary and theraputic but it all came down to who was running the mosque itself.

I would add that CAIR will be involved and that is already a recipe for disaster!

Giving the above commenter the benefit of the doubt by assuming that s/he has been living in a cave since 1945, let me merely point out that WWII is over. We won. We beat the crap out of Japan and Germany. They are no longer a danger to us. Sufficient time has elapsed and new generations born on both sides that we are able to put that past behind us. Such is not the situation with Islam.

The coming war with Islam is the WWII of the future. That war is in its pre-1941 stages. One day, when that war is over and Islam has been eradicated as an ideology that can arouse its followers to murder, perhaps we can afford to allow mosques to be built if they are of the harmless, toothless Meccan variety, with calls for the extermination or subjugation of "infidels" expunged from its "holy books". As were Bushido Shinto and National Socialism expunged from Japan and Germany.

This mosque is not "fine", you silly, naive twit. This mosque is being built by the enemy on our soil in a time of war. It is intended as an insult because it is in the nature of Islamists to build mosques upon the territory of their defeated enemies. They consider 9/11/01 a victory over us. They are celebrating that victory with this effing mosque.

I write: That's the point of this post. The man who is in charge of the commission which is charged with building the Mosque denies that Muslims were involved in 9/11, when they are the whole reason 9/11 happened.

Yes, to many Muslims I can imagine that this is the equivilent of the Marines raising the U.S. flag on Mt. Suribachi.

There are many places for a mosque ..unless the mosque's ENTIRE purpose is to prove by action that Islam's violent past is to be rejected, and the hate and racism of the quran CAN be rejected (good luck) ..

THAT
IS
NOT
THE
PLACE
FOR
ANY
MOSQUE

This is a huge nation.

Putting a Mosque there would be like putting a tribute to Japan at Pearl Harbor.

He's right. It's been obvious from the very beginning that any muslims seen sneaking around on that day were simply innocent bystanders caught up in all the rage and confusion. Besides, they don't even like nasty Elven bread, so they couldn't possibly have taken it....

Exactly.

When is the West going to catch on?

I wonder if this is an ongoing historical co-opting of territory/sacred grounds. Mosques have historically risen in conquered territories, established in the very buildings that housed other religions. One huge example- a mosque stands as the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and once claimed as "sacred ground" they will defend it to the death against all infidels. I am guessing that Muslims will always claim authenticity and truth for themselves- it doesn't take an Islamist to do it.

Thus, Muslims will co-opt the area around Ground Zero and make it their own until no one remembers whose territory it originally belonged to and you'd better mind your P's and Q's or be harshly chastised. What better more insidious way to conquer the West.

But worst of all, the callousness, the lack of grace, the insensitivity in such a monument a breath away from so much horror at the hands of Islamists is insupportable. It's cruel. It's suspicious.

Well put.

Thanks.

I think there is little doubt this Mosque is being built in a spirit of triumphalism over the vanquished Infidels.
