Obama’s Transportation Secretary Says “Americans are Sick and Tired of Motorized Transportation” - Says We Want Bicycles

I don't know about you, but I'm sick of these guys presuming to speak for me.

(CNSNews.com) Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Friday that Americans are “tired” of motorized transportation and its attendant hassles, and instead are looking for other options such as bicycle lanes and walking paths, which the government will add to its infrastructure.

Walk into the antiques shop where I rent space today having just had my 10-year-old but very reliable car tuned up. Conversation going on in shop about how the Oil Spill is All Because of Greed and People Shouldn't Be Allowed to Have Too Much Money and we'd all have enough energy for our modest needs if we all used Solar
Panels and Windmills and the President is trying to do the Right Thing.

Resorted to sarcasm.

Ashamed of myself but there's just a level of stupidity out there I don't have the energy to even try to engage in "meaningful dialogue".

Speaking of the Oil Slick, any credibility whatever to the rumor that the NoKo's torpedoed it because the SoKo's built it or whatever?

I hadn't heard that rumor.

I think, sadly, the fault if Halliburton's.

From what I read of your antique shop encounter, it sounds like the Barack Obama talking point about "at a certain point you've made enough money" has gone viral.

RRA, Pat Dollard posted about the NoKo rumor. In the comments to Dollard's post, commenter "infidoll" reveals:

DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING SERIOUSLY FROM THE EU TIMES!

I don’t know what these people are trying to pull with this site. I’ve heard it called Russian propaganda and everything else…but the site is registered to someone in Florida. Many of the stories on the site are written by ‘Sorcha Faal’ who is supposed to be a “Russian scholar”. Do a Google search on Sorcha Faal - It’s all a hoax.

This site pulled the wool over my eyes a few weeks ago when I sent out an amusing link about Nicholas Sarkozy calling Obama “insane”. This site comes up with the news we all fear to read that sounds entirely plausible if the world were as forthcoming as we all wish it would be. Don’t buy anything the EU Times tries to sell you…I’m convinced everything they post is a hoax. It’s like The Onion on a much more dangerous scale.

Cannot vouch for any of it, but thought it was worth noting.

I am "tired" of Neo-Marxists claiming to speak for me.

Yeah, it was EU Times so I pretty much dismissed it. Sounds like the reason it blew is closer to the reason we have brand new billion-dollar tunnels falling apart around here after 2 years when the 60-year-old ones never have a problem. To say nothing of 6 year old custom water mains. They don't make 'em like they used to.
